Ch.140 Piano Battle (2)

The father of the children didn’t seem annoyed at all by this. Instead, he seemed overjoyed. A 20,000 yuan piano was already deadly expensive but compared to the 2 million yuan one...And from what he heard just now, the original price was 2.6 million! With that comparison, 20,000 feels almost shabby.

He didn't expect the shop owner to be so considerate. Not only did she show them their pianos, but even played a piece herself so they can get a feel of it. The follow-up service was also good. She didn't snub them just because they bought a cheap piano.

When the family left happily, the four students behind them came up to settle the bill. Even though the pianos of the students were not from the four major brands, they were definitely some of the top models.

But Fu Hui didn't offer them better service just because the pianos they bought were more expensive. She repeated exactly what she said to the family before to the girls, treating them equally. On the contrary, there were several students who were still learning the piano who looked over at the girls with envy in their eyes.

The self-confidence of the girls which had been battered and bruised by Xiao Yu returned once more. Xiao Yu looked at the group led by Xiao Xing and thought amusingly to herself, usually when a group has a leader, that person usually excels over the others in one aspect.

She thought to herself that this Xiao Xing was probably the most talented one out of the four! Otherwise, she wouldn't be as proud and complacent as this.

"Miss Fu?" A man's pleasant voice suddenly emerged.

Xiao Yu looked over and froze. It was a brunette foreigner with defined features. From his appearance, he probably wasn't a student. He was wearing a red hoodie, straight wrinkled jeans, and a pair of white sneakers.

He had his hood over his head at the moment with his hands stuffed into the pockets at the front of his top, standing at the counter and asking, "You...sell piano?"

Fu Hui turned to look at him, and then her expression changed. "Joe David?"

"It's me." The boy had a strong accent. It was obvious he hadn't been studying Mandarin for long.

Joe David pushed Xiao Xing away from the counter and asked Fu Hui, "Why...no play piano?"

Fu Hui was just about to speak, but Xiao Xing was furious from being pushed away and had stepped over to tug at Joe David's shirt. "Hey, don't you have any manners? You think foreigners can just have their way in China?"

Joe David frowned at her. "You say...What?"

Fu Hui walked out from the counter and said to Xiao Xing. "I'm sorry, he doesn't speak Mandarin."

Joe David. "I speak. I learn...now."

Fu Hui, "..."

Xiao Xing sneered. "Where are your manners? Don't you see me in front just now? You think you can just come over and push me away?"

Fu Hui could only try to make amends. "Miss, I'll give you a discount. Could we..."

Xiao Xing was even more pissed now. "You think I need a discount? My father is the most well-known real estate developer in Beijing, you know?! We're not done here!"

Fu Hui could only explain the situation to Joe David in English. Joe David nodded and said to Xiao Xing in standard English. "I'm sorry."

Xiao Xing was already furious today, and Joe David's actions just now made it seem as if he regarded her like garbage. After holding in her anger all day, she couldn't help but vent. "You think sorry is enough? Then what do we have the police for?"

When she saw Joe David looking at her in confusion, she gave him the middle finger. "Fuck you!"

Joe David narrowed his eyes and scoffed. "You, piano student?"

Xiao Xing nodded her head proudly. Joe David sneered and pointed to the piano at the center of the room. "Competition?"

Fu Hui's pupils shrank. She pulled him back and spoke to him in English. "No, you can't!"

"Why not?" Joe David responded, disgruntled.

"You're a professional," Fu Hui frowned, "it's not fair."

"I'm a student, too." After saying that, Joe David turned back to Xiao Xing in Mandarin, "You dare?"

Xiao Xing's English wasn't very good, but she thought it was strange how Fu Hui was holding him back. When he heard Joe David say that he was a student himself, she didn't take it too seriously.
