Ch.139 Piano Battle (1)

"Uh...Let's go and sit over there!" Xiao Yu interrupted Ji Xuan's thoughts and pointed to the sofa behind the counter.

Ji Xuan was speechless as he brought the two children over. After sitting down, a big man came over from behind, delivering four cups of coffee to them, as well as dropping down bunches of creamer and sugar packets. In a deep voice, he responded simply, "Please enjoy."

Then, he silently straightened up and left. Xiao Yu didn't care either. She tore open the creamer and poured it into her coffee. She even added a ton of sugar.

Ji Xuan frowned at her. "What's the point of drinking coffee if you're drinking it like that?"

Xiao Yu looked up, confused. "Then how should you drink coffee?"

Ji Xuan only saw the three heads opposite him look up in unison, all faces covered in confusion. IN particular, Xiao Yu and Xiao Ruoguang looked just like bigger and smaller versions of each other because of their similar features, while Ji Yu matched because they dressed exactly the same. They couldn't look more like mother and children at this point.

Ji Xuan felt like he could die from this cuteness...

After coughing a couple times, Ji Xuan picked up his coffee and said, "Of course coffee should be enjoyed by itself. Its taste is rich and mellow. The combination of sweet, sour, and bitter is perfect. It's a treasure that keeps you coming back. If you add so much of that stuff, wouldn't it destroy the taste?" Saying that, he took a sip.

Then, very, very slowly, a questionable expression emerged on his face.

Xiao Yu asked, calmly as usual, "So, how is it?"

Ji Xuan, "...It's instant."

Xiao Yu watched Ji Xuan reach for the creamer and a sugar sachet. Then, she watched Ji Xuan take another sip, face looking questionable as before.

"What is it now?"

Ji Xuan, "Is this really coffee?"

Xiao Yu picked up her coffee and drank it like water, downing half the cup in one go, treating it completely as nothing more than a beverage. After that, she wiped her mouth. "Say, you were in the army too, weren't you? You've had your steamed buns, and I'm sure you've had the mucky water out in the wilds too, haven't you? How are you still so stuck on sophistications? Are you okay?"

Ji Xuan, "...Well, I've had coffee for so many years. It's probably...a habit?

Isn't he just arguing for the sake of it?!

Fu Hui returned with that family of three, and those four female students were with them as well. It seems like they've chosen their pianos.

Fu Hui looked at Ji Xuan. "Do you want to pay first?"

Ji Xuan shook his head. "You can handle them first!"

Fu Hui nodded. Then, she said to the father of the three, "This Hailun that you picked out is the 123 model. Someone on our side will help deliver it for you, and we'll even send it upstairs and assemble it. I'll set up a time to head over and tune the piano. The first time is free, and you can either call your own tuner the next time or you can give me a call. Since you bought the piano from us, you'll get a 20% discount for tuning."

Fu Hui took out a white card from the desk with black lettering. Probably a business card printed at a roadside copy store without any artistic sense at all. Other than the phone number, the only thing on the card was the Fu Hui Music name. The back was completely blank.

"Our number's written on this card. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. You can also call this number if you need me to head over to tune your piano. Oh, and by the way, please write down your address over here, then you can pick out which out of these three days you're available for the delivery. Today is possible as well. If not today, we're available mornings to evenings on the next three days, so you can pick whichever time suits you best. You should write everything down in case we send the piano over and nobody's home. After all, pianos are delicate objects. It's best not to keep it shaking on a bumpy road. I hope you can understand.”
