The Love of a Lycan

Chapter 161: Stealing something

Torak was born an Alpha. It was only natural for him to have a certain aura that exuded from only his presence. He had an outstanding figure, and a strikingly distinctive aura. Even though half of his face was covered under his baseball cap, his cold demeanor came out so naturally, attracting many people's attention to glance at him twice. But Raine didn't mind it.

Instead, she was rather busy choosing a cake that she liked. She was looking through rack after rack, and thinking that the cakes were all equally pretty. And because of that reason, she thought that she couldn't eat them. She just didn't have the heart to bring herself to eat such pretty cakes.

But then, she saw one rack. There, she found the most interesting cake of all the cakes there were. She couldn't help herself but to giggle upon seeing this particular cake. The image that was printed on it, was the reason. She took it immediately, and showed it to Torak who was beside her.

"I want this." Raine showed a chocolate cake with a cute wolf character printed on it.

"A wolf, huh?" Torak smirked meaningfully. "So eager to eat me, aren't you?"

The smile on Raine's face faded as she pouted, making her look even more adorable under her baseball cap. "But you're white, and this one is grey." Raine retorted, and it only made Torak laugh at her. "I think this one resembles Calleb more than you."

This time it was Torak who looked at her sullenly. "Then, don't buy this." He snatched the cake away from her hand. Then he put it back to its original place. "Choose another cake."

"Huh?" Raine flabbergasted, never had she imagined that Torak would have this side of him. "Are you jealous?"

Torak didn't answer her question. He grabbed her hand and they both strode away from the cute wolf chocolate cake.

"Are you really jealous?" Raine poked his waist with her forefinger. "Are you jealous?" She kept bothering him with the same questions again, and again. She found it was actually really funny to see Torak like this.

"No, I am not." Torak said curtly, but didn't turn his back to face her.

Looking at how he reacted, anyone could tell that it was obviously a lie. Raine laughed heartily with the sight of Torak being jealous. Somehow, for some reason, she enjoyed seeing the jealous Torak who seemingly refused to admit his feelings. And she just didn't know why she found it rather exciting to see him like this.

To her, this time around Torak didn't seem like his usual self. At that moment, he was not his cold blooded self who could kill people without a second thought.

After sometime they were roaming around the cake shop, Raine decided to choose a pink bunny cake, and a rainbow cake. Once she got all the cakes in her cart, they headed to the cashier to pay. And when they were there, they had to wait on the line to pay. So then, they waited.

"I want to buy some cake for Calleb, and Raphael too." said Raine right before it was their turn to pay.

Upon hearing that, Torak was about to go out of the line, and followed her. But Raine pushed him back to the line.

"Just stay here, it's almost our turn. I'll be right back." Because the cake shop started to get crowded, the line in the cashier also got long. If Torak came along with her, then they had to wait on the line even longer. Because if the two left and abandoned their turn, they had to wait at the back of the line, waiting from the start, all over again.

Raine went back to the rack where she found the cute chocolate wolf cake, and grabbed two of it. She wouldn't be the one who ate that, so Torak would be fine with that right?

However, before she could go, suddenly someone held her shoulder. The unexpected measures forced her to turn her body, and face them. It happened so fast that Raine was surprised when the other person snatched her baseball cap in just a second, revealing her face.

"See? I told you it is her!" said a familiar looking girl with a clear coquettish attitude. There were three of them, and they were blocking Raine's way.

"Oh, right! It really is her!" The other girl chimed in, and closed her mouth exaggeratedly. "How could she enter this shop?"

"She definitely is trying to steal something from this store." The third girl looked at Raine's face, tracing down to her hands. "See? That's the evidence!" She pointed her finger to the two cakes in Raine's hand.

Raine recognized these girls, they were the girls from the orphanage. They were the one who always bullied her, and talked bad about her.

It was so unfortunate for Raine to meet them here.

"You must be here to steal something, right?" The first girl in a mini floral dress, raised her chin arrogantly. Her name was Sally.

"Sally, do you forget that she's mute?" The second girl with a stubby face, wearing black shirt, and a pair of short pants, reminded her fellow friends. She had this look in her face as if she was disgusted by the sight of Raine. "There is no point asking her." Her name was Lana.

"Why don't we call the security?" The third girl said, her name was Diane. Compared to the other two girls, she was the most beautiful, with her curly long hair, and a slender figure.

Raine really didn't want to talk to them, or stayed any longer there. So, in order to ignore their rubbish talk, she turned around and walked away. But when she was about to leave, Lana grabbed her hand again.

"Where do you think you are going?!" Her voice was so loud, and she did that intentionally. "Are you trying to steal here!?"

Diane, and Sally smiled excitedly because they had drawn the attention that they wanted.

Raine was getting nervous because of this. Not because she was put as the center of attention. She was rather worried about how Torak's reaction would be, once he found out about this.

"Why? Are you afraid now?" asked Diane, as she walked towards Raine in the way that she thought was elegant.

"What's going on in here?" Speaking of the devil…

Torak now stood behind Raine, glaring at the three girls in front of him with the most vicious gaze. His monstrous expression alone was enough to make Diane, and Lana take three steps back.

"What is it?" Torak tilted his head, at Raine questioningly. "Do you know them?"

"Uhm… yes, we lived in the same orphanage." Raine told Torak.

With the orphanage now being mentioned, and the way they talked to Raine, Torak could have guessed how they treated Raine when they were there.

"What is going on here?" A man in his mid-thirties approached the crowd. He looked at the three girls, who started the commotion. "Is there anything I can help here?" He asked politely, especially when he saw Torak. Anyone with eyes could tell immediately from his bearing alone, that he wasn't someone that simple.

At first no one answered the manager, but then, it was Lana who spoke out loud. "She was trying to steal a bunch of cakes here."

The manager stared at Raine, but the way Torak looked back at him, made him shudder. Then the manager turned his attention back towards the three girls instead, who were less scary. "Do you have any evidence for this accusation?"
