Silver Wish

Chapter 99 - I have a request

"Mmm. When I get back, I have a few requests."

"A request? There isn't much I can do for you."

"Uh, I mean, I want us to kiss and cuddle. Maybe even take a bath together?"

Haruka's eyes widened when he heard those words. Although she was the first one who initiated something intimate between them, that was before she regained her memories.

'I already expected her to treat me differently, and indeed she does, but the difference isn't negative.' Now the girl openly shows how much she loves him.

"What happens after those things?"

"A--after? T-that is up to you."

Up to him? Then he would like to do it. Haruka was about to say that when he heard an explosion in the background. He watched as his wife suddenly had a serious look in her eyes.

"Sorry, I might be back late. Make sure you don't approach any of the back doors by mistake; you might accidentally open it."

The girl hung up with a few more instructions, and Haruka sighed deeply. Even though she had just ended the call a second ago, he was already missing her and wanted to hear her voice.

When he woke up in the morning, he logged onto her ŀȧptop and made copies of the videos and pictures. He even converted some of the video files of her saying his name into audio and repeated it.

Haruka clicked one of the files on his phone, and a sweet voice filled the air. Just listening to her voice seemed to dispel his unease.

He picked up the guitar and sat down on the couch. He picked up some scrap pieces of paper and began to play. He started with a few chords and then a few more before he knew it; he could write something to go with her lyrics. It surprisingly came easy to him.

'So not only did he love music, it seems he had a degree of talent in it.' Otherwise, he doubted he would be able to write and play easily. Strange enough, it felt like he had done this before. Finding her notebook, picking up a guitar, and writing to it.

Haruka recalled how blunt she was about her feelings towards him, regaining his memories. 'I truly want to respect that decision, but I also want to learn more about her. I want to know when I fell for her.' He doesn't want to lose those feelings.

Lila instructed him not to go near the entrance and back doors because he may accidentally undo the safety measures they placed. Haruka swiftly put on a pair of headphones. Forget it; they can't get inside here anyway. He is confident in his wife's ability.

Just get lost in the music.

Haruka didn't know how long he slept, but he felt a familiar presence in his arms when he woke up. He glanced down to find his wife tucked in his embrace perfectly.

He brushed his hand on the bandage across her cheeks. 'Did she get hurt?' There was that explosion sound, and she ended the call abruptly.

She must have rushed to the sight of the explosion and helped the people there. It was something she would do. Haruka ċȧrėssed her hair before placing a light kiss on her forehead, eyelids, and nose. He paused at her lips and shook his head.

The important thing right now is to find ways for him to be useful. Haruka knew with his current state; he was only a hindrance to the people living here. What if something happens and he is unprepared? He has to find something he can help with.

His gaze returned to his wife. Haruka found his situation very odd; usually, people who have no memories would struggle more. Indeed if he went out in this condition, he surely wouldn't have survived. But a miracle happened, and he reunited with her.

One of the other reasons why he wanted his memories to return was this. 'What happened to me? How did I end up this way?' Haruka couldn't ignore the scars on his body; there were simply too many.

He heard from Nobu that anybody who looks wealthy outside now would get beaten up and tortured. But he wasn't wearing anything nice in particular.

The only thing he recalls is being in a forest and a woman saying how lucky they were. Haruka ȧssumed that was something that happened before he came here. It seemed it was his wife's mother that saved him. But what happened before then? Unfortunately, the events before that part were a blur to him.

What could have happened for him to be in such a state?

His thoughts broke off when he saw her stir and open her eyes. "Haruka?" Lila said.

His heart skipped a beat when he heard her voice. He didn't know what it was, but she suddenly looked prettier.

"Oh good, I am glad the explosion didn't reach here."

"Was it that bad?"

"Mm, somebody set up a bomb, and the range was quite high. I was worried that it may have reached here, so I rushed back quickly."

Surely that was visible from the outside; she didn't have to come in here.

Almost like she knew what he was thinking, she mumbled. "But more than that, I wanted to see you; before I knew it, I came flying."

'It felt like they had a similar conversation before.' Still, he has to agree with her there. Even though he found something to occupy his time, he still wanted to see her. Or rather, the more he read of her notebook of lyrics, the more he wanted to see her.

The reason why she became so embarrassed is because the girl wrote about her feelings towards him. She feels so strongly towards him. It came a bit of a shock to him. After all, before she regained her memories, she spent more time worrying about that silver-haired man.

Haruka paused. 'Maybe I should ask her about that? It would dispel his unnecessary unease-' He paused in mid-thought when he saw something on the table. It was a long white colored sword.

Lila caught him looking and laughed. "Ah. I was worried something happened, so I rushed in."

"Why were you worrying?"

"Uh, the entrance looked like a mess, so-"

Haruka blinked at those words. The entrance looked like a mess? But when he passed by earlier, it seemed fine.

Lila suddenly frowned. "I guess this is the downside to having a mansion; it is hard to tell when there are intruders. But you didn't notice?"

"After our call, I heard some strange sounds, but I ignored it. You told me not to do anything."

"Right, that was a good decision. The fact that they could get near the entrance worries me a little.. So I will make sure you're not alone from now on."
