Silver Wish

Lila looked away with a guilty expression on her face and Kiryu sighs. He extended his fingers out and then kissed her again. She backed away startled. "What was that for?"

"I debated between flicking your forehead or kissing you. I decided the latter was a better option."

"Haruka will get angry."

Kiryu loves how she didn't say she would get angry. Maybe all of this is just wishful thinking on his part.

"Haruka is too naive." Kiryu commented and wrapped his arms around her. "It's nice having you here with me."

To think he held back for so long. Now Kiryu no longer wanted to let her go. He no longer wants to return to the days where he would watch her silently from the shadows. Just the mere thought of it was painful for him. How could he stand going back to those days after experiencing such blissful moments with her?

"Kiryu .."

"What you said about staying for my sake made me happy. I won't push you into anything though."

He knows what his boundaries are.

"But tomorrow if you feel better, can I take you on a date? A normal one."

Lila laughed. "Uhh, what do I do with you?

'She could just say yes.'

Kiryu ran his hands through his hair. "You said you still liked me right?"

She slowly nodded.

"Then let me take you on a date."

He knew it sounded stupid. Lila is married he needs to get a grip on reality. But right now where was her husband? In New york, thousands of miles away.

"I feel like going on a walk tomorrow."

His lips curve to a smile. "Then we can do that. It won't be anywhere fancy I am afraid."

Lila nodded again and suddenly stood up. "The food."

Kiryu watched as she turned away from him. He felt a bit nervous asking her out like this. Not only is it crazy since she is married and he has morals. No matter how much he loves her he won't make her do something that would make her look bad. She may like him but she admitted that she does not want to get back together.

"Hey Lila?"

"Yes?"

"I love you."

At that comment she sighs deeply and then says something cruel. "I wish Haruka would come soon."

He felt a sudden pain in his ċhėst. He couldn't do it to Haruka after all. These small moments of flirting with Lila already made him feel bad. He needs to stop kissing her but before he knew it he was on his feet again, pushing her against the kitchen counter and kissing her lips. These lips he dreamed of kissing every night since she left.

When Lila officially became Harukas girlfriend. He was one of the first people to hear the news because Kanehera Kouta told him, even now he remembered it clearly. That day he went to a bar for the first time in a long time, got wasted, drank some strange pills a weird woman gave him. Then he woke up on a bed with some random girl beside him.

It took one night to destroy everything he built in a year.

Kiryu remembered feeling sick and so disappointed in himself. Why did he do something like that? Its not like it would bring Lila to him. Thankfully the girl was not a weird one and said she would not tell anyone.

He waited for a long time but indeed there was no news, the media never caught it.

But he never saw that girl again, she disappeared.

Or maybe she got killed.

He tried to avoid thinking of that scenario but Rosalias face appeared in his head. She was always picky with whoever he slept with. She chose all the girls for him.

These unpleasant feelings went away immediately when he hears a cute sound escape Lila's lips. Kiryu blinked surprised but continued. It was hard to tell whether she was fighting back or not.

When he pulled back, Lila remained frozen before she laughed awkwardly. "Okay, we should eat right?"

Even as she said this calmly he noticed her shoulders trembling. "That bad?"

"Maybe."

"Tell me no, tell me you hate it."

Tell me not to do it again, a voice inside his head echoed. But Lila like always smiled and carried on with what she was doing here.

He wonders who the truly messed up one here is. Is it her or is it him?

It seemed like whatever that guy did was taking awhile to clean up. He did hear the sound of a vacuum. So they covered the food and sat down on the couch. He laid down while Lila sat on the edge awkwardly playing with her hair. He wondered what she thought of that kiss. In the past it was easy for him to understand Lila. She played with her hair when she was nervous.

Kiryu sighed deeply. "Did you know the quarantine zones are dangerous?"

"Ah-huh, I figured it was with all the restrictions."

"Just so you would know I don't think the others ended up going there. I am sure they realized they would rather keep their sanity then turn into a mindless robot."

"Where do you think they would go? They haven't called yet."

"Searching for Kasumi and the others?"

"You think?"

Kiryu nodded. "I mean if--" Kiryu looked at her. "--if they did not have to take care of you. I am sure they would have looked a long time ago."

Lila laughed weakly. "I figured it was like that. Shougo and Rinna make a cute couple. Wataru must be worried for Kasumi and Maaya. Eijiro behaves that way but he cares for his sister. Shichiro too must be worried for Kasumi."

Nearly everybody is worried about Iwa Kasumi. The girl who was Lilas best friend. He is saying this because he does not understand what their current status is now.

"Are you worried about her?"

"Yes. People said she was heading to the stadium to save the other participants."

There was one thing he noticed however. Every single time he went there, it felt like some things had changed. 'It was like another person went there.' Kiryu tried to shake the uneasy thought out of his head.. But he couldn't do so.
