Silver Wish

After an hour of Lila drinking his blood. The colour seemed to gradually return to her face. She still shook and trembled, but she seemed slightly better. He called Haruka again but Shinozaki Rikka answered.

"Haruka isn't here."

Uh.

"Don't call him again-" Kiryu hears a snapping sound in the background.

"Quit answering my calls."

"But that's your wife right?"

Kiryu finally realized that the phone he used was Lilas again. He doesn't even know where he put his.

"It is. Look I told you already--"

"I can't stand it! You're already mine. Why does she have to interfere?"

Kiryu puts the phone away from his ear. It felt like he was intruding on the conversation. He waits for a few minutes before he hears Haruka's voice.

"Sorry about that. Can I see Lila?"

He passes the phone to Lila.

"Hubby?"

"Hey." Haruka smiled softly. "Better?"

"A little...urgh, I still feel sick."

"Go to sleep, make sure you're nice and warm."

"Okay."

Kiryu felt like he was disturbing them so he quickly left the room. When he was finally out in the corridor, he realizes how quickly his heart beated.

His gaze fell on his fingers that were trembling and sighs.

He needs a shower, to freshen up again.

When he re-enters the room he hears Lila laughing. "Aha, you're so silly. But I understand."

'I haven't heard her this carefree in awhile.'

Lila looked up. "I have to go now, I'm getting sleepy. Hubby, goodnight."

She quickly ended the call and turned to him. She extended her hand out. "Your too far."

Kiryu awkwardly climbed back onto the bed. But he turned his back on her. The moment he did that she buried her face in his back. Her fingers still felt icy cold. Kiryu knew she was still in pain.

"I'm sorry for scaring you, but it's okay. I will be fine in the morning."

He turned around then. "I don't want you to die."

"I know."

"Please, let me find a way." Kiryu begged her. If she asked him, he would do whatever he could.

He would do anything to make sure that she stays safe and away from harm. Lila did not reply but he noticed how unsteady her breathing became, she trembled badly. So he extended his hand and drew her closer to him. "Let me at least do this."

"Thank you."

"Good morning Kiryu!" Lila greeted him happily.

"Yeah, morning."

She does look normal now. No more pale faced or coughing blood. Still he extended his hand out and touched her cheek. He could not tell that way so he brushed his forehead against hers. "I think you still have a bit of a fever."

"Uh-huh, only a little."

Kotori coughed. "You two no flirting."

An awkward burst of laughter escaped Lilas lips. She didn't comment on the flirting part. But Kiryu suddenly felt like a criminal. She is somebody else's wife, he needs to get a grip.

"By the way Nobuhiko-san is--" Kotori sentence fell short when they heard the sound of an explosion.

Kiryu sighed deeply. "He came back?"

"Just this morning. He scared Lila-chan."

"Right, I got it." What is he going to do about that man? When Kiryu first met him, the man named Okamoto Nobuhiko he considered leaving him behind. He found that person on the verge of getting attacked. At that time he did nothing to defend himself, it looked like he wanted to die.

He had such cold looking eyes that were so far gone. When Kiryu first brought him here he was not sure what to do with him. Well that is still the case now, but unlike before that guy had a purpose. He was smarter than most. It turned out his dad was some type of mad scientist.

Kiryu took a seat and slumped his head on the table.

He hears dainty footsteps and then a gentle hand on his hair. "Kiryu you didnt sleep."

"Yeah, tired."

"Sleep after this?" Lila asked.

"A little." He needed to go out. If Lila is going to stay here, then he needs to make sure to tighten the security around here. He isnt sure if Rosalia knows where he stayed this entire time. Either she did not think to expose him till now or she has no clue.

Kotori excuses herself and says she would find out what happened. Kiryu knew what the real reason was though judging from how she was shifting about uncomfortably. If Lila is going to stay here she will eventually find out but until then. He lifted his head from the table and grabbed Lilas hand.

"C'mere Lila."

Lila nodded and the second she got close he kissed her lips lightly. "Morning." He mumbled.

"Uh…-huh." Lila laughed softly as she covered her mouth with her sleeve. "I thought you would not do anything weird to me?"

"It's a bit hard to do that when you're wearing a cute dress."

"Kotori-chan gave it to me, she said it doesn't fit her."

"I see." It looked good on her but it took Kiryu a moment to realize why. It was the dress he intended to give her as a present on her birthday. It seemed like Kotori knew about it. "Happy birthday." Kiryu ended up saying.

Lila looked at the dress and then at him before she laughed. "It really was from you."

So she even guessed that much? Guess he is not exactly subtle. He went ahead and asked that dress to be made long before this crisis happened. Somebody must have seen him and told her.

"Are you comfortable here?" Kiryu asked. He knew it was a stupid question but he needed to know.

Lila nodded. "I am, its nice here. I feel more at ease." She trailed off. "Say, I can't stay here for long right?"

"I can't risk Rosalia finding you."

"Since we're on that topic, could you tell me how you escaped from her?"

Kiryu sighs. "Let's talk about you first, what was that last night?"

Just because he is happy to see her in that dress does not mean he will forget what happened last night. It was impossible for him to get the images out of his head.

Lila looked away with a guilty expression on her face. "Well you know my condition has always been bad."

"Yeah I know but that was not normal. Lila, did you do something?"
