Nikita

Chapter 113 - Her Desires

[ARYA]

Patience. That is what Arya Knight had told herself she would learn to have when she walked into the human realm and also when she stumbled upon the harsh reality that her mate was a human, and it was something she had forced herself to learn even with her rebellious nature.

It was something she never appreciated ever.

But Arya knight had learned.

She had gotten herself to a point where she was willing to withstand everything that was sent her way. She was ready to fight more demons than she ever thought she wud, and she would do it for him, the man she was beginning to like even though she had been pretending to despise all this while.

When Nikita had left three days ago, his scent lingered in the room Arya was held in, and she thrived off it. She held onto that scent so much that it got to a point where she didn't need any air.

She was afraid that the fresh air could take away his scent, and it really did, but she was hopeful he would come back. She didn't care that he was coming back to run her or make her suffer, and she was becoming desperate for the man's scent and breath.

She wanted to listen to him and observe him when he tried playing mind games with her. She would pretend not to know he was playing with her because she wanted to have him close to her as close as possible.

Arya wanted Nikita, but she wasn't sure she would get the doctor.

"Hey Jacob, where's that coward of a boss you rely on so much? Don't tell me that he's scared of a fragile woman like me," Arya said to the man on the other side of the mirror who hadn't moved an inch.

The footage from the Pavlenko estate that was supposed to make Arya worry didn't serve its purpose because instead of worrying, Arya was laughing her ȧss out at the way Natalya was desperately trying to communicate with her.

Arya already knew Andrew and the wolves and pinned her location, and it was easier. However, she wasn't ready to leave this place. Of course, if she wanted to, even with all the security, she could easily find her way out.

She was supernatural, and nothing in that facility could hold her back if she wanted to lash out.

Nothing.

Maybe if they forced her to look at Nikita, she would lose her focus, and they would be able to trap her, but until then, there was nothing. She was still here because she wanted to and because she wanted to prove to herself that her mission wasn't a dead end.

"Shut up, Samantha, he's not coming today, and you won't be getting any attention anyway," Jacob said with a bored voice. Arya didn't expect that, but then again, Nikita was a man with a team of people who were ready to do anything for him.

Arya had found out about the Rostova legion, the loud secret that the young Pvlenko was having. As much as she wanted to count on the humans to keep her mate safe, she wanted to be there, and she wanted to be beside him and help him out.

She wanted to tell him everything would be okay, but how was she supposed to do that when the one thing that kept her calm and made her have hope was slowly diminishing? Three ways without seeing Nikita made her want to cause more trouble.

Their destiny was indeed bound by a cruel fate.

"Well, I know you won't just leave me here, so who's coming?" Arya prodded. She began in the dark, and as much as she had werewolf hearing and a super sight, she still needed Nikita, and he was the only person keeping her on this end of her realm.

She had gone against every rule when she rejected her parents' offer to go home with them. And even when she had rebelled against the crow, she could have been forgiven, but Arya had forsaken her palace for an extra year, and no one was even sure she would go back home.

"You're smart, y'know that?" Jacob said to Arya.

"Who's coming, Jacob" Arya insisted.

She wasn't worried because nothing could hurt her. Nikita was the best option if anyone wanted to break her spirit and shatter her completely. They could ruin the doctor and watch the alpha female crumble down like a pile of broken bricks.

She would be ruined too.

"The worst of them all," Jacob said with a sad smile like he genuinely felt bad for Arya. The woman in question even worried about whatever was about to happen to her.

She wanted this to be over. She wanted to go back home, and she wanted to talk to her mate and tell him of what they were to each other. She wanted to get this over and done with, but it seemed like it would take longer.

"Ah, nice. I'm impressed. Let them come," Arya said.

"Can I ask you something, Samatha?" Jacob asked.

"What is it?"

"You haven't eaten for four days, and you don't even look worried about collapsing and fainting. Why?" Jacob asked, genuinely concerned. He couldn't quite explain what it was about Arya that made him feel safe, but he trusted her.

It was risky to do, considering she was his prisoner and that he was supposed to guard her with his life. But here he was, ready to give in, ready to listen to Arya. Granted, he couldn't free her, but he somewhat believed that Arya was a good person. It was weird, really, but then it wasn't like Arya was about to open up to him.

"I'm tempted to think you care, Jacob. You must never try and get close to your prisoners, and they could use your emotions to manipulate you. Don't worry, I will be okay, even if you guys get me the worst of the worst.

"Remember what I told you, Jacob? It could be your greatest misfortune," Arya said seriously, her tone entering mocking him or making him feel bad. All of this was a truth he had never thought he would hear, but then here it was, and there was no turning back.

Jacob paused for a while, unsure of what he had expected when the conversation had begun. It was certainly not what he was met with, but then again it wasn't like he could explain why he wanted to know more about the prisoner.

Arya was right about everything though. This was a risky venture and if he continued down this road, he would lose his job and probably lose his link to Nikita. That would hurt him and the rebel didn't want any more people suffering on her account.

Defeatedly, Jacob turned off the intercom and waited for the women who were about to drive. Maybe they would make Arya crack, but would she?

Would she let herself not heal so she could feel the pain?

"Where is she?"
