God's Dynasty

Chapter 15 - Learning New Skills!

Ryan was confused but he did not wish to ask stupid questions. The opponent in front of him was a servant of the God of War.

After taking one break, Ryan swung his sword at Ethan.

Shiing!"

The swordsmanship he used was similar to that of Gabriel, each attack was not powerful however it was advantageous for continuous blows.

Ethan who saw Ryan had a relaxed smile on his face before riposting Ryan's attack causing Ryan to drop on the ground.

"Hmm… You had learnt an Eastern style of swordsmanship. One that specializes in defense then attack. That is some pretty good swordsmanship, you seem to have met a good teacher."

In response to that question, Ryan got up before saying.

"I never learned from my master, I just watched a man I had fought and learned it on the spot."

"… What?"

Ethan, startled, immediately grabbed Ryan's arms and pulled him before asking in an absurd tone.

"What sort of fuċkɨnġ bullshit are you talking about?"

"I.. Copied the swordsmanship of an Aurora user I had killed. I have never learned swordsmanship ever in my life."

Ethan who had a blank face for a moment before muttering to himself.

'Geniuses do exist in this world.'

After awhile, he spoke once again.

"Okay, since you are an apostle of war I need to change my teaching method abit. Let's cut down on wasting time and get straight into the meat of it."

Ethan then raised his sword with a solemn force, and the moment Ryan saw it he felt chills down his spine.

"Originally, I was going to teach you slowly by teaching you but now I got a better plan."

"I'll attack you with both Aurora and physical attacks at your level and you'll learn like that!"

"Shit!"

Ethan quickly began attacking Ryan, each blow fiercer than the next. Although he said that they were fighting at similar level, Ethan's attacks were so fast that it could not compared to any warrior Ryan has faced.

It was so powerful that his confidence he had gained after becoming an Aurora user was crushed.

"LOOK AT MY SWORDSMANSHIP, FOCUS!"

Ryan looked on, the skills itself weren't that complicated. There was nothing to deceive the opponent, it was just an honest and straight swing.

But that was why it was so powerful, the enemy could predict where it was going yet it was difficult to avoid it or parry it.

Ethan then shouted as he continued his swings.

"Here is a hint! The best defense is an attack!"

Fortunately, the swords were unbreakable. The sword firmly endured the shock and Ryan who looked at his opponent stared at him the same way he did to Gabriel.

Ethan's swordsmanship was completely different to Gabriel's, starting with how he moved and centered his body and how to use the weapon.

Each time, Ryan began asking himself questions to which he answered the correct answer.

However, as soon as Ryan perfectly imitated the technique, Ethan would show a different technique scaring Ryan once again.

Unlike Gabriel however, who wanted to kill him, Ethan's sword was meant to teach him. Even though it looked like a menacing blow, he knew that it wouldn't kill him.

Thanks to this thought, Ryan began to learn the swordsmanship much faster than when he was learning from Gabriel.

At that moment, Ethan began increasing his attack speed.

"Great! Now, get the Aurora on your sword!"

The two swords then collided again.

With that hit, one of the sword flew into the sky.

Ryan looked down at his empty hand.

"… huh?"

There was nothing but silence in the training ground.

***

The reason as to why his sword flew away was because of his Aurora.

He just awakened his Aurora and it was poor. To the extent that with one swing of the Aurora his physically abilities were spent causing his sword to fly out of his hands during the blow.

"Any way to increase Aurora?"

"Eating something like a dragon's heart or an elixir. There is something like that in my home town, Kissen. If you go there in the future, go find my stash and eat the dragon heart and drink the elixer there. I'll let you know the exact location."

Ethan who remembered the fight they just head due to what sort of spectacle he had just witnessed.

"You wasn't just copying my swordsmanship, but also adapting it to your situation. Right?"

"Yes."

Hearing that answer, Ethan sighed.

"I should stop being surprised."

Aurora did not recover fast in the Castle, and so the rest of the time was now spent on revising what sort of swordsmanship Ryan had copied.

"What you had learnt was the royal swordsmanship technique from my time. The sword is simple and easy to concentrate, so it is suitable for new Aurora users like you."

"You was royalty?"

Ryan did not think Ethan was royalty, and so he looked at him with a questioning gaze.

"I was the third prince. The title of Count Kissen was given to me by my maternal grandfather. Anyways, enough about me. The swordsmanship you had learnt is perfect for you. So practice is as much as you can."

Ryan nodded his head before asking another question.

"If it is a royal swordsmanship technique, would I be caught if I use it in public?"

"It will be fine, after all my bloodline died long ago."

Ethan who said this was uncomfortable and sad.

He sighed however before cheering up.

"Don't think about that now, I'll teach you a few more techniques of how to us Aurora! That's more important!"

Ryan looked at the smiling Ethan and knew that such a man had a story to tell. But it was not for him to delve into.

After all, he is here to learn how to be powerful, not to learn who Ethan truly is.

And so, they trained throughout the night.
