When I'm With You

Asher POV: (The morning at school)

I felt sad going to school for 2 weeks and not seeing Hans at all... I'm starting to get the feeling something bad is happening to him... Or maybe he moved schools...

Thinking about all this stuff makes me just want to not come to school, but then I hear Kate's voice and I finally realize that I'm not alone. I still have her.

She greeted me. "Asher!!!!! How you doing?!" Kate gave me a big hug and I gave her a big hug back.

"I'm doing fine... Just worried about Hans that's all." I look over Kate's shoulder and into the distance I see Piers and Lauren walking towards us holding hands.

They eventually caught up with us.

"Hey y'all." Piers said.

It was kinda awkward with his girlfriend being there. Since we don't even know her at all and she just randomly pops out of no where.

Being the nice person I am, I said hey back to Piers making him smile.

I looked over at Kate and I see her checking her watch.

"The bell is going to ring in 2 minutes. We should start walking to class Asher." Kate informed.

It's kinda sad that we have to leave everything Piers and his girlfriend come up to us. I hope they don't think we don't like them. That would make me feel horrible.

"I'm sorry Piers and Lauren, but Kate is right. Our class is far from here so we need to start walking there now, so sorry." I apologized then I began to walk with Kate.

Piers said that it was alright and he stayed talking to Lauren.

The day was good with Kate... But I feel like it's just not complete without Hans...

(After School)

Kate has gone home early today. She was feeling sick, so I guess I'll be walking home by myself.

I start walking and I see a familiar person. It's... Hans!

"Hans!!!!!" I tell running over to him.

Hans quickly covered my mouth and stopped me from saying anything else.

"No! Just go away... Please...!" Hans' voice was different. It was messed up.

I can't believe Hans would tell me something so rude. Maybe it's just me expecting him to be the way he always is...

"Asher please just listen to me..." Hans tumbled to the ground. I immediately dropped my book bag and went down to check on him.

"Hans why haven't you went to school?? Why are you like this?!?!" After asking questions that received no response back, I hear laughter of some kids coming from behind me. I turn and look to see who it was coming from.

It was 3 boys.

"Hey are you the kid Hans likes?" The boy had an intimidating grin and laughter. I was so scared I couldn't say anything. What were these boys going to do to us.....?

"I....... I........ I.......... I-"

Hans swiftly bounced up from the ground. "I'm sorry Asher..." Hans apologized, then he just took off running away.

"After him!!" The 3 boys started to chase after Hans.

"What...?! No! Leave him alone!!!" I pick up my book bag and I launched it with all my strength and it hit one of the boys making him fall.

They all looked back and noticed that I was the one who attacked him.

"Luke go take care of that kid, I'll get this gay kid!" The boy who seemed like the leader of the whole gang commanded the boy named Luke to focus on me.

Luke was charging for me, and it seems like there's no going back from this... I don't know what to do... This has never happened to me before..... I'm.... Terrified.
