Ch.142 Golden Finger (1)

Xiao Yu got up and headed to the upright piano behind the sofa, protected with a transparent varnish over the wood. Xiao Yu pulled out the stool and sat down.

She tried two notes. The sound quality was clear and elegant. It can be seen that these pianos reserved for the students were not just any ordinary goods. This owner really paid good money for them! Xiao Yu thought.

Then, she put her hands on the keys. The black and white keys were laid out right before her eyes. She used to think that the worst pit 404 threw her into was the fact that it only had one golden finger. And, the dumbest thing she did was to use up that one golden finger.

Of course, even with hindsight, Xiao Yu had no other choice. She had to recover her body first. Otherwise, she knows that her broken fingers may not be able to recover to prime condition. Then, her future as a pianist would have been a joke.

So, she thought that this golden finger was nothing more than a ridiculous joke and that she could only rely on perseverance to hold her up until the end.

It wasn't until she began practicing that Xiao Yu discovered something. She had never touched a piano before, but Xiao Yu actually had a talent for it that she had no idea she had.

She had no idea how talented she was, but she does know whatever the original Xiao Yu didn't. But that didn't matter. She had no knowledge about the piano world, or even the piano itself. She just knows that no matter how talented a person was, it was useless without persistent practice.

So, she practiced day and night, even though it was just for three months. Still, she practiced from morning to night and made notes. As long as she was free, and even if she didn't have a piano by her side, her fingers still moved to practice out of instinct.

Xiao Yu's aim was just to survive, but the more she learned, the more she understood how important this talent that surpassed the original Xiao Yu was.

And for that reason, Xiao Yu was even more confident that she could survive in this world. She, Xiao Yu, has no other abilities other than her persistence in not giving up that she'd taught herself since she was young.

But of course, it was because she began to understand the piano even more that Xiao Yu knew it was not easy to nurture an artist. Every step for a pianist was difficult. No matter how talented you were, what position you get in the end was definitely the accumulation of all the hours of hard work you piled in.

That was the reason why she disliked how Xiao Xing snubbed the little girl, disliked how she treated the piano like an object, and even destroying the tall image of her parents the girl had in her heart.

Similarly, she didn't like how this Mr. David destroyed Xiao Xing, reason being that Xiao Xing was no sinner. She was just proud and a little rude, but that was no reason for David to set up this unsurmountable mountain in front of her artistic career.

Xiao Xing would become stuck in the obstacle David made for her, and if she couldn't get over it, then she will eventually have to stop here unless she gives up on the piano.

Xiao Xing was still seedling when it came to the piano, while Mr. David was already approaching the master level. This was not a fair fight.

Joe David never thought of causing any harm to Xiao Xing, he just wanted to teach her a lesson. As pianists, they at least had to be humble! What was up with that condescending stare of hers?

He had come all the way here in order to look for Miss Fu. Naturally, he was upset at being abandoned.

It was actually difficult to say who had won in that match. He won in terms of technical skills, but piano wasn't merely about technique. He may have won in technique, but Miss Fu won in emotion. They had the other half of the soul that the other was missing, so both of them felt that the other had won in their hearts.

He wanted to play the piano with meaning. He felt that he had done well enough, and that was the reason why he came here in search of her, but he didn't expect to be scolded by a blonde girl. Naturally, he couldn't tolerate that.

Joe David's fingers played powerfully. But all of a sudden, he heard the rapid melody of another piano.

"Flight of the Bumblebee?" Fu Hui exclaimed.

Joe David also froze for a moment before realizing that the other party was a beat faster than him. He was taken by surprise, but he quickly sped up.

But Xiao Yu did not increase the speed. She just changed the piece a little. In the final ten seconds, she interrupted Joe David's beat and stopped him from playing to the end.
