At the same time, relying on word-of-mouth and the atmosphere of family fun, the film broke through the suppression and encirclement of the various competitors and its box office began to climb up and up.

After a week went by, the box office had already reached one billion.

Judging from this trend, the director’s projected box office of $3 billion by the end of the year was not a pipe dream.

The director and screenwriter watched all this happening and were smiling from ear to ear. They both changed Ruan Tian’s contact photo into a koi fish.

(tl note: Green/Green hats are associated with adultery and koi fish are associated with good luck in Chinese culture.)

“Unfortunately, after watching this movie, we will have to wait a long time before we can see Sister Ruan’s next movie.”

“Sister Ruan has already gone back to college, who knows when she will film again. My heart is broken.”

“I forgot, but our TianBaby is now an ordinary college student.”

“Well, I heard that the crew is going to have a victory party. Our TianBaby will definitely dress up beautifully! ! !”

The director had indeed rushed to set up a victory party and invited all sorts of people to attend.

The reason he scrambled to set the party up so quickly was so it could be held while the film was still in theaters and perhaps push the box office numbers even higher with the hype it would generate.

All the actors and actresses on the crew were invited to attend. The people who were free all agreed to give the director this bit of face by attending, secretly hoping that they might generate some buzz for themselves along the way.

Even Qin Yu pushed aside two large-scale business meetings in order to attend the victory party, using his identity as an investor to secure an invitation.

In fact, the director had only sent Qin Yu an invitation to be polite. Who knew that Qin Yu, this CEO who was in charge of who knew how many important things every day, would actually have the leisure time to come and participate in this kind of low-class event? !

Unfortunately, although he didn’t welcome this guy at all in his heart, the director still had to receive Qin Yu with a smiling face.

After all, no one would want to offend this big God of Wealth. It wasn’t easy to find someone willing to invest so much money in his project in the first place!

When Qin Yu saw the director come forward to greet him, he immediately asked in a low voice, “Where is Ruan Tian?”

The director had just finished going around and toasting everyone, so he was feeling a bit tipsy and slurred, “S-she, she’s over there. She was in a good mood tonight and drank hershelf drunk hehe…”

Indeed, Ruan Tian had been in a great mood thanks to how well the film had done and directly drank two glasses of red wine. Then she began to feel a bit drunk, so she went to find a corner of the box to curl up in like a cat. Currently, her eyes were half-closed and it was hard to tell if she was sleeping or awake.

Qin Yu went over and looked at her dotingly. The indomitable CEO Qin only showed his current, tender, expression when facing Ruan Tian.

He leaned down and found her breath was warm and smelled of alcohol.

Ruan Tian looked up at Qin Yu who had suddenly appeared through the door and fell into a daze. The image just now when he had pushed open the door and walked in reminded her of the dream she had before.

He was always the one who opened the door first.

Just like now, and just like back during the height of the summer when they were still seventeen.

Qin Yu did not put on any airs or show any displeasure at the noisy scene inside the private box where the party was being thrown. He just walked over to the corner of the box and sat down beside her, “Enjoying yourself?”

He was really shocked she had drank herself into this state.

The two sat there hidden in the corner.

Around them, other people happily sang karaoke into their microphones and drank their wine.

Ruan Tian didn’t respond.

Qin Yu’s patience there days was obviously much better compared to the past. Looking at the tipsy Ruan Tian beside him, although he was definitely not a good-tempered person, he still managed to pretend like he was good-tempered. He said evenly, “Are you ready to go home?”

Ruan Tian nodded. “Are you going to take me home?”

“Yes.”

“Qin Yu, you love me?”

“Yes.”

“Qin Yu, you want to sleep with me?”

As she spoke, Ruan Tian wrapped her arm around his neck, letting him pick her up from the sofa.

Qin Yu responded, “Yes, I want to sleep with you.”

Ruan Tian ignored this second answer. Her mind was still processing his answer to her first question.

After having drunk so much, her reaction had slowed down a few beats.

Over the years a lot of things had happened between her and Qin Yu. So much that, pleasant and unpleasant memories both, had all blurred in her mind and Ruan Tian could no longer remember them clearly.

Instead, it was that first meeting, the warmth of the hands of the young man in the wheelchair on her own, which had really remained in the depths of her memory.

“Qin Yu…”

“Actually, I think…”

“I think I love you a little bit too…”

The thing Ruan Tian had the least amount of resistance to was tenderness.

And it seemed that the tenderness CEO Qin had shown had really pierced the armor around her heart and melted the frost that was layered there.
