The Love of a Lycan

Chapter 206: Keep you occupied

"We are being ambushed."

Serefina swept her eyes through the darkness and mumbled something. Suddenly the room turned bright, revealingthe other five people inside the room.

There were three men and two women.

The five of them were caught by surprise at what Serefina did, but then they smiled viciously toward Raine and Serefina.

"As expected from a pure blood witch, your power is so amazing indeed." The woman in blue cloak said, looking at Serefina tauntingly. She had short golden hair and a pair of cat eyes.

"I think I didn't invite any of you here." Serefina tilted her head and looked at them with a mocking smile.

"Who are they?" Raine whispered from behind Serefina's back. "Wizard hunters?"

"No." Serefina answered while she kept her eyes on them. "They are only lowly witches." She raised her voice intentionally when she said that, incurring the anger of the five witches and making Raine grimace inwardly.

Raine had never seen Serefina engage in a battle with anyone, except forthe squabbles with Torak, hence she was a little bit worried now. After all, Serefina was outnumbered by the enemy. Serefina couldn't count on Raine as she does not have the ability to fight alongside her.

"B*tch!" The other woman with raven hair cursed at Serefina loudly. She did not even bother to hide her anger as she made a strange motion with both of her hands.

Upon seeing that movement, Serefina's eyes gleamed with killing intention as her hand made a cutting move in the air, deflecting whatever the raven-haired witch tried to do.

"Move back." A man, who was taller than the other two, said in a calm tone, his brown eyes locked on Serefina.

Serefina scoffed upon hearing that then her palm grew bright with magic. Seeing what Serefina was about to do, the other two men moved forward and helped the taller man shield them from Serefina's blast.

However, it was too difficult for them. They tumbled back and one of them landedon the raven-haired witch's feet.

"Don't provoke someone that you can't handle guys." Serefina grinned triumphantly. She acted as if she was teaching a lesson to a bunch of ingrate children. "Quality over quantity, girl. Remember that." Serefina said as she tilted her head at Raine.

Raine sighed in relief. Serefina obviously had the upper hand in this situation despite the number of enemies she was facing.

Serefina readied another blast and aimed it straight at the taller man's chest. It would have hit him hard had the golden-haired woman not intervene with a magical shield.

"What do you want? You know, the five of you are not my opponents. Why bother to even try?" Serefina asked lazily. She knew with her centuries of experience that these five witches were merely teenagers who knew nothing about magic.

If Serefina was serious with her attack, not even their combined power could prevent the damage that she would cause.

"Shut up! Don't you dare talk!" The fiery temper of the golden-haired woman flared up as she dashed toward Serefina, her right palm glimmering with yellow colored magic. She moved so fast that Raine could not see her approaching them.

However, with only a lazy wave of Serefina's hand, the woman was thrown across the room and hit the wall with a loud noise, leaving a visible dent there.

The raven-haired girl gasped when she sawher friend crash against the wall. The three men tried to approach her, but Serefina had another idea.

She clapped her hands and from her intertwined fingers a glowing tendril like a transparent robe appeared. It moved like a snake in the air toward the remaining four witches in front of them.

Their eyes opened wide in shock as they tried to use everything that they could and every spell that they knew to deflect the glowing tendril, but to no avail.

The tendrils were not even affected by their effort.

When the tendrils reached them, it wrapped itself around their bodies and lifted them up in the air. Then they were floating. They lost their balance and their hands and feet flailed about in every direction in an attempt to be free from the strange magic.

"Please great witch, spare our lives…" The raven-haired girl pleaded. She looked terrified when she saw how far she was from the floor, though she just floated a mere 2 meters away. She probably has a phobia, Raine thought.

"It will depend on how you will answer my question…" Serefina's smug face was very bright when she heard her enemy beg.

The moment Raine saw that, she knew that the problem was handled well. Actually, she was quite disappointed. How could the five of them be defeated so easily?

Raine wanted to see how Serefina lived up to her name as a powerful witch for over centuries, but seeing the situation now, it almost looks like Serefina was just bullying a bunch of teenagers.

"We will answer all of them. All of them… we are here only for the festivities…" The man with the same raven-colored hair chimed in. Looking at the similarity on their faces, Serefina was almost certain that they were siblings.

"Now who had ordered you to attack me?" Serefina leaned her body against the wall while Raine simply did not bother to hide behind Serefina's back again and instead, sat down on the couch comfortably, enjoying the scene before her. At least, Serefina would not punish them the way Torak would.

"There was a group of people… there were ten men who approached us…" The third man's words tumbled. "They offered us money to attack you."

"Attack me?" Serefina frowned. "Don't you know that I am a pure blood witch? What on earth made you think you can defeat me?"

Pure blood witches were quite feared even among their own kind, as they held more power of spells than other witches.

"The man didn't mention to defeat you… that man only said to keep you occupied for more than five minutes." The raven-haired girl replied.
