The Love of a Lycan

When Torak returned at 5:12 P.M., Raine was stillsleeping soundly.Being near her, Torak thought that her smell changed and became sweeter since she got her period, but still he can smell the strong metallic scent of blood.

Probably because she sensed someone inside the room, Raine shifted on the bed and opened her eyes slightly to see Torak changing out of his suit into homey clothes.

"You came back…" Raine rubbed her sleepy eyes and sat down to receive a warm hug and a kiss on her forehead. Torak always does this whenever he comes home andit has now become a habit.

"Did you sleep well? How are you feeling? Do you feel hurt anywhere?" Torak knew that some women tend to experience body aches during their period. He was glad though that Raine does not seem to be suffering from any of those. "I brought something for you. Do you want to see it?" Torak asked. Raine got excited to see it especially when she saw that Torak appeared eager to show it to her.

"Yes, what is it?" Raine asked cheerfully, forgetting her drowsiness as she jumped off the bed and urged Torak to show it to her.

"Come here." Torak grabbed her hand and together they walked down the stairs.

Torak took Raine to the backyard where Raphael and Calleb were standing and looking down at a blue box.

Raine walked over and, as soon as she was close enough to see what was inside, screamed excitedly at the sight of a white bunny inside the box.

Raine squatted beside the box and looked at the bunny which was only the size of her palm. Its fur was the color of pure white, reminding Raine of Torak's wolf.

"She is so beautiful!" Raine squealed. She carefully took out the bunny from the box and hugged the bunny close to her."You brought it for me!"

"Of course it is for you." Torak also squatted beside her. "What name would you like to give her?"

Raine caressed the soft fur of the bunny as she tried to come up with a name. "What do you think is a good name?" She looked at Torak, Raphael and Calleb, asking for their suggestion.

"Max?" Calleb said. The suggestion earned him a frown from the three people in front of him.

"It's a rabbit, not a dog." Raphael chided. "And also this is a female rabbit, not a male."

Torak did not say anything while staring at the rabbit on Raine's lap. She caressed its fur lovingly. Her eyes literally twinkled with happiness.

"How about Mimi?"Raphael suggested.

"That's a name for a cat, you clueless Beta!" This time Calleb was the one who shouted at Raphael. He clicked his tongue in disapproval.

"What do you think?" Raine turned towards Torak to ask for his opinion since the two men were not helpful.

"Anything is fine." Torak said monotonously, his eyes still glued at the bunny. Its eyes were now closed, apparently relishing Raine's gentle touch.

"How about Bunny?" Raine said. She looked at the three of them expectantly.

But Raphael and Calleb only gave her an awkward smile.

"Of course that's a bunny." Calleb complained. "Why do you have to call her 'Bunny' again?"

"I think that name is too plain…?" Raphael disagreed with her idea.

Because Raine did not get the support she wanted from Raphael and Calleb, she turned to Torak again. "What do you think?"

"Sounds great." Torak said flatly. He furrowed his brows, seeing the bunny was sleeping now.

Raine was elated when she got Torak's approval. "Alright, your name is Bunny now." She said adorably."Bunny's fur is so soft." She mumbled to herself. "Can I put her cage inside our bedroom?"

Raine thought it would be nice to have her pet near her but Torak immediately rejected the idea.

"She can go anywhere inside the house but not inside our bedroom." He said sternly.

Raine was quite surprised at Torak's strong objection. She thought the reason was probably because of the smell of the bunny. Did the smell bother him? After all, Lycans have a keen sense of smell.

"Oh, alright…" That did notdiminish Raine's happiness though. "Ever since I was a child, I have always wanteda bunny. But my mother was allergic to fur, so I have never had one." Raine said.

"Well, now you have one." Raphael said. He picked upthe rabbit's cage. It has a small cozy pillow in one corner where it could sleep and on the opposite side, a place to eat and drink. "I think our food is ready now. Why don't we go inside and have our dinner? You can play with Bunny later."

Raphael reached out his hand to take the bunnyfrom her. She carefully handed Bunny over to himand watched as he placed it inside the cage. Calleb then took hold of the cage.

"I will put it there." Calleb pointed to a small greenhouse across the yard that was filled with plants and flowers. It was warm thereso it would be perfect for Bunny to stay.

"Okay." Raine nodded. She would visit her bunny after dinner.

"Put this on the bunny." Torak suddenly said as he fished out something from his pocket. It was a small red band with a diamond in the middle of it. "Place this on its leg."

Calleb took the red band and placed it on the bunny's hind leg, its red color contrasting beautifully with its white fur.

"Thank you Torak." Raine kissed his cheek because her bunny looked exquisite now.

"You are most welcome, my love." Torak returned the kiss.

After that Calleb took away the cage and walked leisurely toward the greenhouse. He passed by two Lycans along the way. They were warrior Lycanswho cameto check on the main house. Despite the presence of human guards everywhere, Torak ensured there were two or three of their kind nearby.

"Do you want to eat it raw?" One of the Lycans pointed at the bunny. "It has been a long time since I ate a raw rabbit meat. Want to share that with us?"

Lycan warriors were dominated by their beast side, their wild instinct still quite strong. It was common for them to eat their foodraw, and rabbits were one of their meat options.

"The Alpha will fry you if you eat this bunny. This is Luna's pet." Calleb advised them. "Tell the others not to eat the bunny that has a red band on its hind leg or the Alpha will be very mad."

After that he continued to walk towards the greenhouse, leaving the two Lycan warriors confused.

They looked at each other as they thought'why would their Luna keep such good food as pet?'
