The Love of a Lycan

Chapter 189: Embarrassing moment

After some time, waitresses served the steak, side dishes and drinks that the esteemed guests ordered.

The Manager, who noticed the baseball cap on the table, sighed in regret because Raine was not on her seat. He saw her standing alone at the balcony but he could only see her back. Only if she turned would he be able to see her face.

What kind of woman could capture Torak Donovan's heart? How beautiful is she?

But even when the Manager made some noise to draw her attention, still the girl did not turn around. In the end, he could only reluctantly leave the room with an unappeased curiosity when Torak dismissed them.

The moment they left, Torak approached Raine and hugged her from behind. "Let's eat before the steak gets cold." He kissed her nape and grabbed her hand to lead her back to the room.

The meal was delightful and the drinks served werefresh, yet Raine knew that the satisfaction and happiness she felt was morebecause of the way Torak treated her.

Raine isalready getting used to how Torak spoiled her. She imagined that it would have been nice if she had met him earlier so she did not have to endure those terrifying experiences. But that was all in the past. What is important is that she is so happy with Torak now.

Raine was about to eat the last piece of steak which Torak cut up for her when he suddenly grabbed her wrist.

She looked up and saw Torak frowning. "Yes?" Raine became confused, noticing the look of concern etched not only on the face of Torak, but also on the faces of Raphael and Calleb.

"Are you hurt?" Torak asked. His blue eyes looked down to assess her body, even as he was thinking that there was no way Raine justgot hurt under his watch.

Raine also frowned. She did not feel like she was hurt. "No. I wasjust eating."

"But why do I smell blood on you?" Calleb also assessed Raine. There were three of them and they could definitely smell the metallic scent of blood.

"Blood? But I didn't…" Wait. Did he just say blood? Raine stopped mid-sentence as her expression turned ashen. In the next second she jumped from her seat andpressed her back against the wall. She held out her hand to stop Torak from coming close to her.

She needed to check on something.

Raine peeked at her behind with a dreadful feeling. Just as she had thought, she could see dark stain on her bottom. The dark stain also tainted the bottom edge of her oversize sweater.

Raine felt like crying. Why must this happen now and right in front of them? This is so embarrassing!

"Raine?" Torak took a step closer but Raine shook her head while biting her lower lips.

Then realization hit Torak and he smiled indulgently. "Come here. It's all right." He waved his hand to call for her. "The restroom is over there…" He pointed to the private restroom across the room.

Raphael also finally understood what was going on and took the initiative. "It's okay. I will buy what you need."

There was only one other person inside the room who was still clueless as he moved his eyes from Torak and Raine and then to Raphael, who was about to leave the room.

"What happened? Is she hurt somewhere? The smell of blood is so thick now." Calleb's expression showed genuine concern.

His comment made Raine grit her teeth though her face turned crimson red as if someone just boiled her entire body.

[She is on her period, you idiot!] Raphael chided him, glaring at Calleb before he walked out of the room, acting as if he did not hear anything so that Raine would not feel more awkward than she already was.

"Come here Angel, it's okay. It's a normal thing. There is nothing to be embarrassed about." Torak tried to persuade her. He reached out his hand while he approached her.

This time, Raine did not move away. She glanced at the restroom that Torak had pointed to earlier. "Turn around."She said. "Turn around please."

It would have been fine if there was nodarkstain on her bottom, but there was and she did not want either Torak or Calleb to see it.

Torak obliged and turned his body away, his eyeslooking out atthe balcony.

"Calleb too." Raine frowned at Calleb who was still staring at her, looking a bit lost. Only after Torak shot him a dagger look did he turn his body and look at the same direction as Torak.

After that, Raine walked slowly with her back still against the wall, all the while looking at themwarily.

When they heard the door close, Torak moved his gaze towards the restroom and walked over. He knocked onthe door. "Raphael will come with the pad. I will ask him to also buy some pain reliever just in case you need it. So just stay there for a while, okay?"

"Okay." There was a faint answer from inside.

Torak sounded calm and cool when he talked about pads and such stuff, but Raine still felt self-conscious and deeply embarrassed. She covered her face with both of her hands while sitting on the toilet seat.

Her period has always been irregular. Lately, this is probably due to stress over the review for the exam. Since she does not have symptoms like stomach cramps or headache, she could nottell when it would come. Even if she felt mood swings in the past, she still felt this to be normal. And anyway, was she not happy lately with Torak?

After a while, there was another knock and then Torak's voice could be heard. "Open the door a bit."

Raine peeped through the gap when she opened the door. She was in a bad mood now.

Torak stood behind the door, holding a white plastic bag. He silently handed it over to Raine.
