54 – Secret Passage

After meeting Lawton, we returned to the academy and resumed our investigation into the Chamber of Secrets.

For a long time, several students of the academy have tried and failed, like a legend. For days we haven’t found a single clue about the secret room.

Even the actual comparison with the blueprint survey conducted by Kane and Lacard was over.

The result was to confirm once again that there was no space for a secret room to exist anywhere in the academy.

Me and Luna kept stopping by the library to research books, but it was the same that we had no income.

But rather than getting nervous as time passed, I was very excited for the upcoming weekend. When I thought that Luna, who had been healed by Lawton, would be able to use both of her hands freely, a happy smile appeared on its own.

Looking at Luna who was reading the book involuntarily, looking at the club badge on her chest, one thought came to mind.

“Oh, Luna. We can’t even go to our forbidden zone… ?”

The badges given by Principal Nelson to the Messiah members allowed them to access anywhere in the school, and even borrowed books from the Forbidden Books area.

Like me who forgot that fact, Luna heard me and opened her mouth with a stupid expression on her face.

I hurriedly headed to the Forbidden Area with Luna. It was a library that could be used by all citizens of the capital, but the forbidden book district was a special place that required grade, rank, and permission.

Seeing the red line on the floor representing the prohibited area, Luna and I nervously took a step forward to cross the red line.

As we entered the Forbidden Area with a strange feeling as if we had penetrated something like a transparent curtain, several first-year students stepped in out of curiosity but bounced back without being able to cross the red line.

We hurriedly searched for a librarian’s book dedicated to the Forbidden Books area. The cover was red to distinguish it from ordinary librarian books.

Let’s search for something about the secret room. Things I couldn’t see in the general librarian’s books began to come to mind.

Me and Luna packed them up and put them on the table. A total of 11 books that exist in the Forbidden Books Zone.

Luna, who met my gaze, nodded her head with a determined expression. When you’re looking through a book, hoping for a clue about the secret room.

In a book titled [Secrets of Transcendence Academy], I found someone scrawled.

= Legends are always nearby. For example, somewhere in the warehouse on the 5th floor of the main building…. -Captain- =

Captain… ? It was a very childish nickname, but it was the only trace left by the advance party looking for the secret room.

I showed it to Luna. Seeing the message left by the captain, Luna sent her eyes full of anticipation.

“Shall we go to the warehouse on the 5th floor?”

“It’s a bit late today, so let’s check out the books we took out and go tomorrow with the members.”

At my words, Luna nodded, and she began examining the book again. Luna, who was always docile and never disagreed with me, was like a dog who followed her master like she was.

Let’s stare at her with a delusion that if we scratch her chin, she will make a pleasant expression. Perhaps feeling the burden of my gaze, I came to my senses when Luna lowered her gaze and checked the book.

But… Who the heck is the captain?

*

“So, who is the captain?”

The next day, gather in the club room and tell the members about what you found. Arya asked with a puzzled expression.

“Well, maybe it’s the senior who went to the academy?”

“Ugh, Captain…. Aren’t you a very old person!?”

As Arya reacted violently, she heard a small muttering of La Carr, who had been listening quietly.

“Captain…. Are you okay?”

Pretending not to hear Lakar’s muttering, I led the members to go to the 5th floor together.

Since there was no going up to the 5th floor of the main building, the other members, including myself, looked around here and there with curious eyes.

“Wow, 1st graders were banned from entering the 4th floor?!”

As Surprised Aria said, starting from the 4th floor, there were classrooms and laboratories mainly used by 3rd and 4th graders. 2Nd graders were allowed to enter, but 1st graders were banned from entering because they thought they might cause an accident.

Of course, thanks to the club badges, we were able to come in and out freely.

“Oh, but what kind of warehouse did you mean?”

Like Kane’s embarrassed voice, I had no choice but to check the 5th floor and put on a puzzled expression.

“Magic department 1-4 warehouse. Combat Division 1-7 Warehouse…. From the Ministry of Alchemy to the Ministry of Magic 1-12 warehouse…. Even the basic warehouse and weapon warehouse for training….”

Aria read the 5th floor map hanging in the hallway in a weak voice.

“I have to check all this… ?”

“Maybe… ?”

As I was scratching her head, Kane suddenly cut in with a shrill voice.

“Wait, maybe you don’t need to check everything.”

“Why?”

I was curious about Kane’s sudden words and asked.

“If the person named Captain was our senior, it would have been a warehouse where students could enter and exit. Then, except for the basic warehouse and training weapon warehouse, students cannot enter. Ordinary students cannot enter the Ministry of Pensions and Ministry of Magic warehouses alone. There are a lot of dangerous and expensive things, so I have to go to the warehouse with the professor.”

Following Kane’s reasoning, her staff and I nodded as if they understood.

“Then, the only places left are the Combat Department and the Sorcery Department’s warehouse. If you look at the 3rd and 4th warehouses of the Faculty of Magic, it says that you must be accompanied by a professor. I think we only need to check warehouses 1 and 2.”

“You, you… ! You were a detective!”

As if Arya had been waiting for Kane’s words to finish, she started talking.

“Heh, this is the basics…. I’ll bet her father’s honor.”

Looking at these things, the two seem to be getting along really well…. It felt a bit regretful that Arya was gay.

I was very curious about what the child would be like if the two got married.

I clapped my hands, and the members focused their attention.

“Okay then, let’s investigate the warehouse one by one in order. Instead of investigating each one separately, let’s check the entire warehouse one by one.”

“Why? It’s faster if you split it up.”

At Arya’s question, I shook my head.

“It’s about a secret room, so it might be hidden. If everyone checks it once, the next person will be able to see what happened inadvertently.”

“As expected, the general manager. It is certain that several people are knocking on the stone bridge.”

With Lakar’s unreasonable trust, I started checking the combat unit 1 warehouse. As soon as I came out, Aria, who had been stomping her feet, entered the 1st warehouse, and I went straight to the 2nd warehouse.

After a while, after searching all the warehouses, we were sitting in the hallway on the 5th floor.

“Hey, isn’t your reasoning wrong?”

Kane scratched her head at Aria’s suspicious voice.

“It’s okay. I’m standing You can use her father’s honor to your heart’s content.”

“You irresponsible bastard!!!”

Listening to Aria and Kane’s talk, I remembered the clues the captain left. Was it simply a message left to check the warehouse on the 5th floor?

While she was lost in her thoughts, Luna, who was sitting next to her, suddenly stood up and began to look closely at the guide map of the 5th floor warehouse.

“Ministry of Magic Storage, Alchemy Storage… huh?

Luna, who was muttering to herself, suddenly tilted her head and began to look closely at her guide map.

“Ross, this….”

“Huh?”

I stood up at Luna’s call and looked at her guide map.

“… Is there anything strange about it?”

“The warehouses exist in numerical order, here. Only Combat Division 5’s warehouse is on the other side….”

Kane stopped her jokes and came over to us, touching her chin.

“… Strange? Lakar! Go to Combat Division 5’s warehouse!”

At Kane’s words, Lacard stood up and walked in front of Warehouse 5 of Combat Division and looked at us.

“Uh… ? Lakar, is that warehouse 5 right?”

“Huh? Is that right? It says Warehouse 5 here.”

At Lacard’s words, Kane and I exchanged glances.

According to the guide map, Lakar had to turn around the corner of the hallway, so he shouldn’t have been seen by us.

Perhaps Aria realized that the atmosphere was strange, she jumped up from her seat and looked at her with anticipation.

With her crew, she headed to where Lakar was standing.

“According to the guide map, this should be part of Warehouse 4.”

“We checked here earlier… ? Then, what about Warehouse 5 on the map?”

“I’ll have to check it out.”

As shown in the guide map, there was only a wall around the corner of the hallway.

“Isn’t there a door?”

It could simply be that the guide map was wrong. From the 6th warehouse onwards, they were properly arranged according to the guide map.

“But then, structurally, this place becomes an empty place with nothing?”

As if reading my thoughts, Kane tapped the wall where the door should be with her hand.

“Let’s go back to Warehouse 5 and check it out.”

Staying in the hallway didn’t seem to solve the problem. I went into warehouse 5 with the members and looked everywhere to see if I missed anything, but there were only training tools and practice tools related to the combat unit. I didn’t see anything that might have something to do with the secret room.

“Isn’t that the captain or something you wrote just to play tricks? Otherwise, why didn’t I make it clear!”

Full of her anticipation, Arya checked her storage room so hard that her bangs were wet with sweat.

Tong-

“Huh?”

She heard a very clear sound for hitting the wall.

Arya felt strange too, so she once again hit her wall with her fist.

Tong- Tong- Tong-

“What, what! This is not a wall!!!”

In an instant, the annoyance on her face disappeared, and once again her face was full of anticipation, and Arya pounded her fist hard against the wall.

“Look out of the way.”

At Lakar’s words, Arya moved aside to sleep next to her. Immediately, Lakar hit the wall with his shoulder.

Kung-!

With the illusion that the entire warehouse was shaken, Lakar was sucked into the wall.

“Ra, lacar!”

“Kyaaak, what is it!!!”

When the members watched Lakar disappear into the wall and started a fuss, I cautiously approached and pressed the wall with my hand.

I’ve seen something similar like this in Modist.

As if my prediction was correct, the wall rotated and I saw Lakar collapsed on the floor. He probably didn’t expect the wall to turn, but he hit his shoulder with all his might and seemed to lose his balance and fall.

“Lacar, are you okay?”

“Keuheum, I didn’t mean to break it.”

It’s not that I couldn’t wake up because I was sick, but I guess I couldn’t wake up because I was ashamed. I stood up Lakar and checked over the rotating wall.

“Guys, there is a passage here.”

“Sul, no way… ! Rain, the secret room?!”

Arya made a fuss about her, pushing her body to get inside, causing La Carr to get caught in the revolving wall and scream.

“Stop, stop! Stop aria! Calm down!”

“Secret room!!!”

Screaming like that, Aria squeezed in and started running down the aisle recklessly.

“Hey! Be careful!!!”

Despite my cries for her, Arya, whose eyes went back, was out of control.

Hurry up along the aisle with her crew. I saw Arya struggling to open the door.

“Aria, someone wants to act alone.”

After blaming it in a slightly harsh voice, Arya, who came to her senses, apologized to us with her downcast face.

“Mi-sorry…. Are you a little excited?”

He scolded Aria for acting alone while leaving her members alone. We took turns turning the doorknob one by one to try to open the door, but for some reason the door didn’t think to open.

“That’s strange. It probably doesn’t even have a lock.”

As Kane said, there was no hole in the doorknob to insert the key.

“Hmm…. Shall we use magic?”

Arya, who had been quiet because she had done something wrong, took out her wand with her eyes shining.

“Then, break the door. Do not do that.”

At Kane’s words, his expression immediately changed to sullen.

While thinking about what to do, Luna, who had been staring at the door, opened her mouth.

“Hey…. Where do you think you saw this door?”

“Yes… ?”

Just like I found a secret on her guide map, I checked the door closely to see if Luna found something about her. Nothing came to her mind.

“Where have you seen it? It looks different from the door in the academy, right?”

At Arya’s words, Luna put her finger on her lips and looked at her door with a cute expression.

“Just like the door to the closet on our island!”

The heads of the members who were looking at Luna turned to the door.

“Right…. I heard and saw that… ?”

“Now I remember. Well done Luna.”

“Hey, are you looking for this? Isn’t Luna great?”

I gave her a thumbs up at Luna, who wiggled her fingers as if embarrassed by the compliments of her teammates, she said.

“You are the best.”

After the praise time, we looked at the door and fell into a question.

“But… The door is the same, so what?”

I nodded involuntarily at Aria’s words.

What should I do now… ?
