152. Reunited

Translator: Joy

His ruthless declaration shocked everyone as they immediately quieted down.

Seeing the King of the Netherworld’s expressionless face, no one doubted his words. They even felt that this man didn’t care about the consequences of becoming enemies with this many people. Was he confident or just arrogant?!

The green-robed elder and Ming Qianxia were the first people to leave. The two of them pretty much ran away in a panic.

The King of the Netherworld wasn’t that King that they once used to know. The current King of the Netherworld was even colder than before. They revered him as much as they feared him. Ever since they lost their innate body, their reliability and dominance had disappeared. The cause of all of this was that boy in red. Since he had appeared, the Nether Family’s fortune had drastically declined. Later on, the elders of the family had used the large evil plate and were able to calculate a result.

That was —- if there was us there couldn’t be him, if there was him there couldn’t be us!

That’s to say, the relationship between the boy in red and the Nether Family was contrasting. If the Nether Family wanted to maintain their glory, then the boy in red couldn’t exist, or else the fortune of the Nether Family would forever be restrained.

Therefore, after they had discovered this result, the elders of the Nether Family made the decision to leave the family’s territory.

Once the Nether Family set the example, others would naturally follow. Those who decided that they weren’t the opponent of the fifteen golden puppets, left quickly one after another. They were not in a cooperative relationship with them and there wasn’t a single person that was strong enough to bear the burden. In the end, even Po Ying decided to leave temporarily. However, they hadn’t given up because they were one of the first groups to arrive. The truly strong forces wouldn’t arrive until a few days later.

The Emerald Dragon Mountain’s vein of ore couldn’t run away. Even if they wanted to excavate the vein of ore, it would be impossible to excavate everything. As such, they weren’t in a rush. Once their family’s experts arrived in Skyline City, then it would be time to negotiate.

Within a few seconds, everyone had left and only Luo Nanshu and the others remainedt.

Suddenly, there was a ‘muah’ sound as Feng Xi gave the King of the Netherworld a huge kiss. He seemed to have completely forgotten that Carendra, Luo Nanshu and the others were looking awkwardly at him. One by one, they turned to stare at the sky.

God, they saw nothing!

Due to Feng Xi’s actions, the King of the Netherworld’s cold expression immediately melted to that of the gentle spring breeze.

“Leader is so dashing.” Feng Xi tightly hugged the King of the Netherworld’s neck as he buried his bright red face into it. He discovered that he had started to like the Leader more and more. When he saw the Leader’s cool demeanor, his heart started thumping quickly.

Ever since the Ice Qilin said that there were many people who were secretly in love with the Leader, Feng Xi felt that he had to always tightly hold on to the Leader so no one could steal him.

This thought had led directly to the incident where he sprained his ankle. In reality, he hadn’t really sprained his ankle. He just wanted to show everyone that the Leader was his. The slipping accident was just a coincidence, but at least his goal was achieved. As a result, Feng Xi happily curled in the King of the Netherworld’s arms, not wanting to leave.

The King of the Netherworld  pinched his nose in response, pampering him.

“We’ll leave the matter of vein of ore on hold until the troubles in Skyline City are resolved.” The King of the Netherworld looked toward the people standing behind him and his expression returned to its usual indifference. He then looked at Carendra and said: “Once the Sura Family arrives in Skyline City, the valley of the Emerald Dragon Mountains will become the Sura Family’s land. I will create barriers around the valley to prevent others from breaking in.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty!” A sliver of joy finally showed on Carendra’s cool expression.

His gratitude was sincere and Carendra hadn’t hidden it from Luo Nanshu and the others. He knew that Luo Nanshu and the others were all perceptive and nine times out of ten they had already figured out the King of the Netherworld’s identity. His sincere thank you wasn’t to only show gratitude but was to give them a hint and dispel their suspicions.

It’s not that Luo Nanshu and the others couldn’t understand Carendra’s hint, but they tactfully stayed silent.

You and I both know that this sort of matter was fine as long as everyone knew in their hearts!

However…

Although the three of them had become accustomed to tornadoes and tsunamis, the existence of the King of the Netherworld in the God and Demon Kingdom was still just a myth in the hearts of experts. Even the legend of the guardian of the God Demon Tower fell short. Therefore, in the people’s minds, the King of the Netherworld was ever so mysterious and was entirely worthy of being the strongest person in the Three Worlds. This was especially true for Luo Nanshu. He had once heard his grandfather mention the King of the Netherworld and since then had made the King of the Netherworld his goal. He hoped that one day that he would be the King of the Netherworld’s equal or perhaps be able to surpass him.

Luo Nanshu had only imagined meeting his idol in dreams. Therefore, if he found out that one day, the King of the Netherworld was suddenly standing beside him, Luo Nanshu would’ve become overly excited. On the contrary, when this occurred, he had become unexpectedly quiet and calm. The person who was the most talkative suddenly became the quietest.

Huan Ye and Zong Wuqing could both guess his inner excitement, so they didn’t find his sudden change strange. This was also because they couldn’t speak of the joys and sorrows in their hearts. If their families found out that they were cooperating with the King of the Netherworld, they would probably laugh at them in their dreams!

Since Feng Xi made his decision, he stuck to the King of the Netherworld like glue, refusing to come down.

Feng Xi remained curled up in the King of the Netherworld’s arms as their group returned to Skyline City. His two little canine teeth were exposed as he smiled. It was evident that he was enjoying this very much as he hadn’t stopped smiling all the way back.

The King of the Netherworld lowered his head and with eyes full of smiles said: “Xi, your face will stiffen up if you keep smiling.”

Feng Xi continued to smile and chirped: “It’s already stiff.” His words were a little slurred but everyone heard him clearly.

“Pfft!!”

Luo Nanshu, who had finally snapped out of his thoughts, laughed when he heard their exchange. Seeing that everyone else held their laughter, Luo Nanshu covered his mouth to avoid accidently laughing again.

“Why didn’t you say that you were stiff? Why don’t you come down now?” The King of the Netherworld’s black pupils were full of joy. Just as he was going to put him down, Feng Xi stopped him immediately.

“No, I like it like this.” Because his face was still a little stiff, Feng Xi spoke as though he was grinding his teeth. Hearing that the King of the Netherworld was going to put him down, he immediately tightened his hold and twisted his body, refusing to be let down.

The King of the Netherworld said nothing else upon seeing his persistence and held him all the way back to the Emerald Dragon Restaurant.

Feng Xi finally couldn’t take his stiff face anymore. Just as he was about to pull at his face with his hands, two glistening round balls suddenly flew at him. A golden ball and a bluish grey ball were calling young master. Feng Xi had just glanced up before the two things collided with an invisible wall and fell with a splat on the ground.

“Leader, Leader, hurry and put me down.” Feng Xi suddenly became excited and demanded that the King of the Netherworld put him down.

The King of the Netherworld furrowed his eyebrows slightly, because Feng Xi had only become excited when he saw the God of Books and the others. However, he still let him down.

Just as the crowd grew silent, stunned, Feng Xi stepped on the two round balls in front of him happily. Before they even had a chance to scream, Feng Xi yelled, “Wow, the weather is so nice, and my mood has improved. Meeting acquaintances has made my mood even better.”

“…” The crowd.

Feng Xi continued to stomp as he shouted. It was as if he had no other way of expressing his joy and excitement.

The God of Books and the God of Bad Luck screeched as they were stomped on. In the end, they couldn’t make a sound. Hairless Chicken and Sky Breaking Beast who were inside the restaurant looked sympathetically at the God of Books and the God of Bad Luck but were more so enjoying their suffering. Fortunately, they hadn’t also rushed forward or else the result would’ve been even worse. The young master’s way of greeting people was ‘welcoming’ and harsh enough. The two mourned silently for them in their hearts!

Feng Xi happily stepped on them, completely forgetting that he had ‘sprained his ankle’.

Feng Xi finally let them go when the God of Books and the God of Bad Luck waved their white flags to surrender. He squatted down and looked at the God of Books and the God of Bad Luck who had turned into pancakes. Feng Xi smiled and said: “Bookworm, Little Mold, it’s been so long since I’ve seen you two. How have you been?”

“Not very well.” The God of Books and the God of Bad Luck gasped, as if they were knocking on death’s door.

His greeting was like kicking someone’s crotch and then asking them if they were in pain with an innocent expression.

Evil! The God of Books and the God of Bad Luck instantly felt that their young master had become even more sinister. They hadn’t even been away from his side for even a month and he had become less cute and even crueler. His change truly was too thorough. Who had he learned it from?

The God of Books crawled up and floated to Feng Xi. He curled up in his hand and sobbed: “Master, before we met you, our lives were very good.”

“Then after you met me?” Feng Xi blinked his eyes and looked at the God of Book with a cute and affectionate expression.

The corner of the God of Books’ lips twitched, “After meeting you, I suddenly realized that spring has arrived…”

“Smack!!!”

A slap, as swift as lightning, swept across the Gods of Books’ face.

The smile on Feng Xi’s face grew even brighter as he spoke, enunciating each word: “It’s currently late autumn and not the season for mating. Instead you should be visiting your mother.”
