Chapter 53: Selecting elements

It was already night when Kritos reached his home.

Kritos presumption was wrong as he thought after he would meet his parents, he could go home with them.

However, his parents decided to stay there and pass some time.

Eventually, the darkness has arrived, and the teeth clenching cold winter winds have begun.

Kritos lay on the bed and thought about the recent events.

The strange frog monster, which they have seen in the forest, was quite unusual. He can talk in strange languages which humans and monsters could easily understand at the same time.

He has an aura, which makes ordinary people freak out in fear. Nonetheless, after personally encountering him face to face, he saw a glimpse of fear even in those dark red eyes.

"Why doesn't he want to reveal his existence? Is he afraid of something? If yes, then who?" Various thoughts revolve around Kritos's mind.

Kritos asked Sanju about his existence, but his elder brother only tells that this demonic frog race was already extinct in Ancient times. They were, most of the time, remain neutral, independent of any cooperation.

In many textbooks, there is mention that they were cruel and horrible creatures who loved to drink liquor. Still, no ancient textbook has mentioned that they can speak the human language.

But the most surprising thing he learned was that they lived for almost 300 years. Whereas the demonic frog monster they saw has an ancient aura and an endless stream of mana.

Kritos and Sanju have guessed that this demonic frog monster was a little different.

'Tomorrow, I would try to learn about the history of this world—the first continent war which had changed the climates of Sincromas world and many other things.' Kritos thought about going off to the Clan library from where he can learn about this.

The library of the Dwivedi clan was big, but they didn't have many books. The book which contains information about the past is rare in the countryside. Still, it was enough to learn about the basics.

As an uneducated scholar who only knows how to speak and write in one language, the little books in the big library were sufficient.

Peasants or Farmers who live their whole life in the Village hardly tries to learn about anything. Except for farming and selling goods in the city, they don't know much about the world's history.

Lastly, they don't have money to purchase the book from a merchant or a city store, or rather than purchasing; they can buy some clothes and toys for their child.

Kritos quickly eliminates his meaningless thoughts and focuses his eyes on the Status screen.

Now, it was the best time to create talents for the elements and mystic laws.

The rays of the enchanting dark moon flicker on his face from the closed window.

"System, can you tell me the detailed information about each element, law, and which elements can form fusion with each other."

[Different worlds follow different aspects of elements but overall, they have similar powers.]

[It believes in the whole cosmic that the elements can actually be combined into 5 categories: Energy, Nature, Shadow, Divine, and Arcane]

[Energy provides all the elements such as Fire, Lightning, Light, Sound, Nature(thanks to them, the forest forever last), etc.]

[Nature brings in Earth, Metal, Wood, Air, Water, Rock, and any mixture of those that can be created, such as mud or sand or glass]

[Shadow is Void, Space, Time, Darkness, Death, Shadow, Destruction and Chaos]

[Divine is Life, Healing, Holy, Reality and Gravity ]

[Arcane is a blurry spectrum, but covers things such as transformation. Also, Arcane includes what some would call pure magic, that glowing purple stuff that flies around. It isn't easy to customize in a format form. Some say it wraps Time, Space, and Reality and control the flow of mana, which is just a measure of fundamental power]

When Kritos saw this long list in front of the screen, his mind started spinning after looking at the unknown worlds.

He just wanted to know about the Laws and common elements. So, he can differentiate which is best for him. Not a list that tells him about detailed understanding about the details.

Watching the words which were foreign to Kritos, he was more confused than to understand anything.

'Is the system going to be crazy? Why the fuck he can't understand my feelings?' Kritos cried out in discomfort.

Before, Kritos was confused. Now, after seeing a lot of information about fusion, he just wanted to disappear.

Nonetheless, he wasn't interested in any of the elements or their fusion. Kritos is only interested in the most potent elements.

What is the use of many elements when a single element is more than capable of any one of them?

His dream was to become strongest, not to become an element collector.

Only the strongest elements will be possessed by him, and the rest of them can take their leave.

Kritos chuckled and looked at the screen in front of him," Why didn't I think of it before?"

"System, which element or fusion is strongest among all of them? " Kritos delightfully asked, hoping that he will soon know the answer.

The system doesn't quickly answer, it takes a few seconds before saying

[After a long search, the System hasn't found the answer to the host question]

[System, evaluate that it depends on the individual. Some elements have less damage than others but are easy to combine with nature and produce hefty damage.]

[Compared to ordinary Elements, Laws are more powerful. Standing equal grounds with Arcane magic. Still, if the element user have capabilities they can defeat a law user]

As Kritos listens to the statement of the System, more anger pours into his mind.

'System, just why? Why can't you understand my feelings? I simply wanted to know which element or law is standing at the top pyramid—the element which is a dream element to everybody.' Kritos yelled in his thoughts

I have come this far; now I can't go back.

Kritos learn about the common elements, but none of them interests him.

Fire! It can be extinguished by the water element

Water! It's not my type. Moreover, Air is the enemy of water

There is a rock-paper-scissors problem which he had played in his childhood

Wind and Water can erode Earth - Fire can (in a volcano) melt it. So Earth loses!

Wind can blow out a candle, Water can put out a house fire, and Earth can be dumped onto a campfire to put it out. So Fire loses!

Fire can boil water, and wind can evaporate it. Water can just soak into Earth. So Water loses!

The wind is often caused by changes in the temperature of the water in the oceans (Hurricanes) and can be created by Fire. A cave formed from Earth blocks the wind completely. So Wind loses

He will never pick these fraud element brothers. They look powerful but fight each other, and the system said the winner is an Individual.

Fuck! Who the fuck is an individual?

I never saw him even in my childhood game. Against pure strength, even the system individual will be bygone.

Why...Why are you tricking me, System? Half of my mind is destroyed by your long list where foreign words just keep coming.

After an hour of thinking, Kritos decided to create talent in two laws, Time and Reality. Maybe if some SP remains from 500SP, he will choose a common element or advanced element, Ice.

For the last time, before creating the laws' talent, Kritos decided to ask something to System.

"System, Among all the elements which is the most suitable element or law to me,"

After asking, an exciting look appeared on Kritos face.

'I know it'll be Time because…forget it.'

Quickly enough, Kritos heard a voice in his mind

Kritos kept staring at the screen for a minute; he felt from the System voice that it was trolling him.

'God, am I so bad that you made my body from the waste material.'

Suddenly, a glow emerges in Kritos eyes. Still, I can create any of them.
