Silver Wish

At that comment, his eyes widened. For the first time since he saw her again, this was the first time he saw her trembling. The first time he saw her afraid. Haruka is that important to her? Kiryu thought he understood that a long time ago. But it seems like he knew nothing at all. How come he did not notice this.

"I am afraid that he finally realized that he would rather be with Rikka-san. Haruka had many regrets regarding her, so I am worried that he would change his mind. I am worried that he would leave me."

He didn't let go of her hand for her to become this way, insecure and uncertain. "Alright, let me call him right now."

At that comment, he noticed Lila's eyes brighten. "R--right now?"

"Yes, right now."

"Oh, um...." Lila scrambled to her feet and ran her fingers through her hair.

Geez, this girl... "It will be quick, though," Kiryu muttered. He does not know if there is spyware on his phone. Kiryu thought he got rid of it, but those people tracked him far too easily the other day.

He pulled out of his phone and quickly dialed a number. Thankfully Shinozaki Rikka did not answer it this time. It belonged to Haruka.

"Yes?" A sleepy voice mumbled.

"Sorry for disturbing you when it is so late, but your wife wants to talk to you."

At that comment, Kiryu heard the sound of Haruka exiting a room and walking further away. "Give it to Lila."

Lila, who was busy fixing her hair and-- Kiryu blinked when he saw the makeup. Where on earth did she get that from? He tossed the phone to her and stood up. "Tell me when you finished."

"T--thank you, Kiryu."

Kiryu nodded and quickly left. He was in a hurry because since he hugged her, he felt a throbbing pain in his eye, a tightening feeling in his ċhėst. He eventually arrived outside at the yard and slumped his back against the tree. He pulled out a needle from his pocket and immediately injected it into his arm.

It took a while, but his heavy breathing and the piercing pain gradually slowed down. A deep sigh crossed his lips. Kiryu understood that meeting Lila alone is bad. What if he ends up harming her when he is in this in this state?

Haruka should come here soon.

Lila almost dropped the phone in her hands when she saw her husband. He was as handsome - no, he was even more handsome than before. Lila did not know what to do.

"Hey, why do you keep staring? Say something."

"Y--you're better looking now." Lila could not hide it from him.

Haruka laughed. "You don't change huh? Well, mmm. A lot has happened here."

"I miss you."

Her eyes widened when she heard those words. It was a mere three words, and yet she felt it. She felt the love behind his words and the look he gave her. Lila felt the tears she held back gradually fall.

"Your so pretty when you cry, so don't cry when I'm not there. How can I wipe your tears?"

"Your such a dummy, dummy, idiot..." Lila exclaimed.

"I know, I'm sorry for not contacting you sooner. I will be there in a month, so hold back."

"B--but your living with another woman. I can't handle that." Ever since she saw those newspaper articles, Lila felt like she was going crazy.

She said all that brave stuff to Eijiro. But the reality? The reality is she is falling apart just thinking about it, let alone see the pictures. When she heard what happened in New York after she left, Lila understood that Haruka would feel the need to take care of Rikka, who did not have anybody else.

For her, that was fine; it made sense. But she did not think they would start living together; the news came across as a bit of a shock to her.

"I love you."

"T--that won't work; explain it to me."

Haruka nodded. "Rikka got into a bit of an accident while she was trying to get some information for me. Thankfully she did not get too injured. But Sano-san suggested that we stay together to prevent something like that from happening again."

Sano-san huh? Lila got a bad feeling from that man. When she was still in New York, it felt like he was pushing Haruka and Rikka-san together. Lila took a deep breath when she saw his serious expression.

"If it is like that, then okay," Lila mumbled. She isn't happy about this, but she does not want to waste time arguing with him.

"You look a bit pale.."

"It's just lack of sleep."

Haruka frowned. "I'm sorry, you can't sleep because I'm not there, right?"

Lila does not say anything. She was very happy; they could finally talk again. But her emotions right now felt petru- her thoughts broke off when she noticed something. "Are you at a party?"

"Mmm, bit tired, though."

If it were in the past, she would have lectured him.

"Haruka, please come soon."

Since she arrived in Star Town and ȧssessed how bad the situation was, Lila held her emotions back; she kept it all to herself. But the reality is? She is only eighteen years old, to shoulder the fate of the town - no the world. It is too heavy to carry alone.

"Lila, please don't cry anymore," Haruka mumbled. "I want to hug you and do all kinds of things, but I can't right now."

The serious atmosphere seemed to vanish when he said all kinds of things. Wh-what does he man by s--serious?

"Lila?"

Lila felt her cheeks grow hotter.

'Now that I thought about it, the last time I saw him….we were...doing that.'

"Uhh, I didn't mean that." Haruka said awkwardly.

"Oh, r--right."

"Lila, when we see each other again. Let's talk right?"

"There is something I want to say to you."

Sensing his serious tone Lila burst into tears.

"H--hey, why are you crying?"

"Haruka are you going to break up with me? I know Rikka and you are closer now. But I still love you more than she does.. I can prove it."
