Silver Wish

Chapter 21 - Run away with me

So he did something like that for Lila-chan? Maybe she is too harsh on him, after all. When she learned, they were not blood-related, no when she saw how he treated other women. She naturally felt repulsed and went against him. But she is no longer a child. Back then, she saw the world differently.

"Can I leave her to you?"

She cant leave Kyoko alone. Sumire understood that it is dangerous for her to travel during this time. But she can't do that. Since she got back, she has focused a lot of her attention on Lila-chan. Kyoko herself requested that. She has not done anything for that child yet.

Sumire understood that she has to go personally.

Raven sighed and yet nodded. "Alright, I will protect her. But do not take too long. I will face huge backlash doing this, and it will risk my position, that is fine and all. But remember the risk."

"I know."

When Raven left, Yuhi extended his hand out and pinched her cheeks. "I can't believe I am saying this, but why are you so stupid, my lovely wife?"

"Are you insulting me or complimenting me husband? Make your mind up."

Yuhi lowered his face and kissed her lips. "Im attacking you."

Sumire laughed. "Uh, option three?"

"Yeah." He trailed off. "Are you sure about leaving Lila?"

"If we go to New York, we will most likely find Haruka-kun too. That girl will be fine when her husband returns to her side."

"Mmm, just like how I recovered when my wife returned to me."

"Oh, you, your so silly." Sumire trailed off when she saw the look on his face. She clung to his arm. "Let's go on a walk, my husband."

For the next few minutes, nobody spoke. Whenever there is silence between Yuhi and her, it isn't uncomfortable. She feels at ease whenever she is with this person, and all her problems seem to fade away like dust. Sumire wondered if the same went for him.

To her surprise, he suddenly stopped walking and picked her up. He lifted her from the ground so quickly. "Yuhi?"

"Let's go inside."

Inside-- Sumire paused when she felt several piercing gazes looking their way. A deep sigh escaped her lips, and she shook her head. "I am okay, Yuhi."

"You keep saying you're okay, but I don't think so." Yuhi suddenly snapped.

Why is he--? Sumire didn't get a chance to say anything when he pushed her against the tree.

He brought his lips to hers. "Don't you see how scared I am for you, Sumire? Even those you call your friends want you to step up and do something."

"Well, of course, I have the power to.."

Sumire however, couldn't finish her sentence. She has the power to what? She has the power to change things? Sumire looked over and saw the pained expression on her husband's face. He is tired, of course, he would be. Yuhi probably thought as long as she returned, they could go back to their peaceful days.

She ċȧrėssed his cheeks. "Don't be frightened, Yuhi."

Yuhi shook his head. "I know you want to help the kids. But I want to run away with you. Sumire, please. Let's just go somewhere, okay? After we help Kyoko, let's just leave. You don't have to involve yourself in this."

"But what if something goes wrong? What if the children cant handle it? Yuhi, we can't just escape from the rest of the world.."

"Why can't we? There are plenty of areas that are not affected. Sumire, run away with me."

Sumire bit her lip. Yuhi sounded so desperate, and he was trembling. She never saw her husband like this before. No, that is wrong; she saw this back then too. Back then, when they were both high school students. Her health was very poor then, Yuhi didn't want her to perform knowing the strain it would have on her body. He seemed equally as frightened then.

"Yuhi, you know I was happy. I was happy living with you back then. I was happy knowing that you trusted me from the very start." Sumire mumbled.

When she arrived in Tokyo so many years ago, she was still a mess, and yet Yuhi never abandoned her. "When you asked me to move in with you because you were concerned. I felt very happy." She laughed softly. "It was something I wanted, but I thought you would find it weird if I asked you. I didn't want you to misunderstand either."

"I would have liked to misunderstand."

"Uh, right, you're a pervert after all."

Yuhi kissed her eyelids. "You sure about that? Your the one who attacks me these days."

"That's because you don't make a move."

"Mm, you really want me to?"

Sumire nodded. "I know it isn't the time for this." But whenever he holds her, she feels very comfortable and relaxed.

"I always have time for you love. But we're getting off-topic here, run away with me, wife?" Yuhi suggested.

"Do you think they will be okay?"

It was hard to refuse Yuhis offer. She is already tired of all this. So many things happened when they were in high school, and even after that. She ended up leaving him for seven years. "If I confirm Lila-chan and Kyo-chan can handle it, we can go Yuhi. We can go wherever you want. But until then, please put up with me."

Yuhi kissed her again; this time he kissed her gently. "Alright. But you need to stay in my sight."

Her gaze softened, and she wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him. "I will cling to you tightly like this, so make sure you don't keep your eyes off me, okay, dear?"

She will cling to him tightly, and not let him go. She no longer wants to leave his side. Even if Yuhi didn't suggest running away, she would have eventually done so.

"That sounds like a plan."

Right at this moment, the two of them did not realize how they still had to play a crucial part in this game that decided the fate of the world.

Nobody realized that god would be so cruel and test them again after all the hardships they experienced.
