Silver Wish

Chapter 20 - Nobody else I can trust

But after she carefully thought it through, Sumire realized that it was futile to do so. She can ask her brother's help regarding Lila but not to help look for Kyoko. "Please, Yuhi, I will be fine here."

"I know this is your home, Sumire. But the people here are hostile towards you. I can't risk it."

Sumire bit her lip. "But what about Kyoko...Yuhi, our daughter, is severely hurt. I need to heal her before it is too late." Yuhi is the only one who she can trust to go and fetch their daughter. If the girl is as injured as she thinks, then ... Just the thought of it pained her.

Kyoko is an idol; she is a member of the music industry. Suffering such an injury like that would certainly damage her self-confidence. How bad of a leg injury?

When the young girl's mother heard she was Kyoko's mother, she went on her knees and started to beg. Sumire knew from that reaction alone something was terribly wrong.

"Ssh, don't cry. Im sorry. But I can't leave you. It is selfish of me, but you are more important to me than our daughters. Kyoko will be fine. I will send somebody else."

"But there is nobody else I trust..."

"You trust Soujiro, don't you?"

At that comment, her eyes widened. "Ah, you..." Could it be that Yuhi already made his arrangements before all of this?

"I sent Mamoru after his son, and to check on Lila along the way too. Sumire, you don't have to deal with this all alone."

"Thank you, Yuhi."

"Do I get a reward?"

Sumire wrapped her arms around his neck and brushed her lips there. He didn't get injured or anything, but she could still clearly smell his blood. She wonders why she still feels like this towards him even now. So much time has passed, and so many things have changed.

Her thoughts broke off when she hears a light tap on the door. A deep sigh passed her lips. Her brother did this deliberately. She quickly pulled away from Yuhi and got dressed.

Yuhi fixed the creases on her clothes. "Should I come with?"

"No, I can go alone."

.....

So many years have passed since she last saw this man. No, she has not seen him since she was a little girl. But Sumire recognized him immediately. A man with dark black colored long hair tied in a ponytail, wearing traditional-looking clothes.

"Raven."

At that comment, the man turned around, and he sighed deeply. "So informal right of the bat."

"Were not blood-related after all."

"I see your going to point that out first." Raven trailed off. "Since I am not blood-related, why would you leave this place to me?"

"Your the only one who can take charge."

Raven walked towards her until he stood directly opposite her. He leaned forward and cupped her cheeks. "I thought this before, but you are one gusty woman. You understand what kind of man I am, but you still had the nerve to yell at me the way you did."

Sumire did not flinch. "Were you not the strange one? You got mad at a child."

He did not say anything and continued to stare at her.

"Indeed." Raven pulled back, and Sumire let out a relieved sigh. "Did you genuinely think I would do something to you? You're a married woman."

Sumire rolled her eyes. "But, you have no morals, Raven."

"Is that how you see me?"

"Yes," Sumire said bluntly.

At that comment, the man clenched his fist. A frustrated look appeared on his face. "Your husband is here, right? I thought he would come with you."

"Why would he?"

Raven's lips curved to a smile. "After he gave me that scary warning. I thought he would surely come with you."

Eh? Warning?

Raven sighed. "It seems like you don't know. After they found me, your husband came to see me. He warned me not to go near you; otherwise, he would, what was the word chop me up into minced liver?"

Her sweat fell. She could imagine Yuhi saying those words. Honestly, it seems like she has underestimated her husband. No, she forgot exactly how much he loved her. If she remembered, then it would not be like this. From the very beginning, that person has loved her. He loved her and didn't hesitate to tell everybody that.

A scowl appeared on Raven's face. "Quit looking, so love-struck."

Sumire laughed softly. "Well, my husband is quite romantic. I think I fell for him all over again, hearing how much he fought for me."

"If your going to say such nice things, say it in front of my face." A familiar voice said from behind her.

She turned around and saw Yuhi. He wore his usual cold expression, and yet there was something different now. He looked so cool! Her eyes sparkled, and

she watched as Yuhi draped his jacket around her shoulders.

"Are you cold?"

"Errm, yeah, it's freezing."

Yuhi brushed his hands across her forehead. "Do you have a fever too?" He grabbed hold of her hands. "You need to get warmer."

When he openly fusses over her in front of other people without caring for his reputation. Sumire genuinely felt loved whenever he did this. She buried her face in his arms. "Yuhi, be my heater."

Yuhi rolled his eyes, and yet she felt his arms around her waist. "Silly girl."

Raven coughed. "Did you two forget that I am still here?"

"Who are you?"

Her brother's eyes twitched, annoyed. "I thought you two came here to ask for my help. I guess you don't need it anymore?"

"Please help my daughter."

"Which one?"

"Lila."

At that comment, she watched as a complicated expression formed on his face. "Is it impossible?"

"Well, you know how the people here treat you; it is the same for that daughter of yours. I want to openly intervene. When I heard she returned to Japan, I wanted to help her. The girl was pregnant, right?"

"Could it be--"

"I managed to send some people over to help her when she was in labor.. It was difficult since the guys with her did not trust others."
