RWBY: Fireborn

Chapter 88 - Pyrrha was hungry

Logan ġrȯȧnėd as he awoke in his and Glynda's shared bed as their alarm blared. It had been a hectic three weeks since he found out Glynda could use magic. Which started with him getting slapped by Salem for describing the ritual crudely. Glynda didn't take kindly to it either.

.

When Logan asked how the ritual went, Salem described it as a process of opening one's magical pathways through repeated practice in many different ways. When Salem told him that he and Glynda did through coitus many, many times. She even pointed out that the two of them had to replace their bed several times already because of it. It was around this time that Logan crudely said it was like giving a dead battery a jump start with another, larger battery. Salem didn't even give Logan a warning before he was sent flying from her slap.

.

Glynda didn't even try to save Logan for that comment and let him hit the ground. Ozpin had a hard time trying to stop coughing as he was sipping from his mug when Logan went flying past the front of his desk. When Ozpin heard what Logan said about the ritual, the first words out of his mouth were, 'You deserved it,' and he went back to work. Logan just sighed and rubbed where Salem slapped him and sat back down at the table.

.

From then, it was a tiring week for both Logan and Glynda as the two of them had to attend Salem's lectures about mana manipulation. Glynda, so she can learn how to move mana; and Logan due to his comment and so that he can watch over her. While the lesson was going on, Logan had to translate some of the things Salem said as they were hard to understand, even for Glynda.

.

The second week started by having Glynda trying an easy, simple to use spell; ignite. The entire spell was just making a tiny flame on a finger. While Glynda could activate the spell, it was far weaker than even a normal one bordering on just enough for it to be cast. Salem said it could be just that Glynda hasn't got used to being able to use magic yet. She agreed but Logan kept his thoughts to himself.

.

The third week was the worst for Logan. While they were going over the lessons with Salem, they were also dealing with their normal classes. But when the third week rolled around, Logan had to shoulder both his and Glynda's due to Salem wanting to speed up Glynda's magic studies. Logan protested, saying that if they tried to use his Phoniex Flames could result in heavy damage to them or the school. Salem pacified him by telling him they were going over other simple elemental spells, nothing bigger than one's hand.

.

Logan abided and just told them to call should they have a problem. Salem said she would and disappeared with Glynda in tow for the entire week and into the fourth week, now.

.

.

As soon as the bell rang for classes starting soon, Logan left and headed for Glynda's classroom. Once inside, Logan began to set up the board for the lessons Glynda left behind. Today's lesson was about the history of transforming weapons. While Glynda's classes were mainly combat classes, she also had to teach the history behind the weapons they used as well. Logan wondered how she could teach this and not fall asleep to it herself.

.

As Logan was finishing writing what was needed on the board, the bell rang. Turning around, Logan saw that the entire class was present. Except for Yang, Blake, and Weiss while Ruby was sitting front and center for the lesson. He sighed knowing those three would try to skip the class. Even the ever-so-studious Weiss wanted to skip this class as even she falls asleep to it yet she could stay awake in Port's bosting about his over-fabricated youth.

.

Just as Logan was about to mark them as absent, the three of them burst into the classroom breathing heavily. Logan sighed as they had just made it and marked them as present for the day. As he continued with the day's lesson, Logan did his best to make the lesson interesting. When Logan was going over the first weapons that were transforming, a sword with a stick that screwed onto the pommel, Glynda walked into the classroom.

.

Glynda: "Professor Scarlett, thank you for teaching my classes while I was away." Glynda said as she walked.

Logan: "Nothing to tank me over Professor Goodwitch." Logan said as he finished the first part of the lesson. "How was your trip?"

Glynda: "Eventful, but peaceful." She said curtly as she sat down at her desk. "Please, excuse me for interrupting and continue with the lesson." She said, obviously tired beyond belief.

Logan: "Understood." Logan said with a sight chuckle.

.

Logan: "Now, about fifty to sixty years before the Great War was when the term 'Mecha-shift' was coined when it was figured out how to implement firearms into the weapons of this time. We are unclear when it was exactly as they are many reports from the different Kingdoms that state who was the first to do this. Atlas says it was one of their scientists that managed it with a transforming lever-action rifle to a Zweihander. Vacuo says it was one of their wandering tribes that did it with the first weapon being a Bolt-action rifle to scythe."

.

Logan continued with the lesson as he went over what each Kingdom said in their records. Saying each Kingdom vying for the fame that would be brought with the achievement. One asked which of the Kingdoms are responsible for it. Logan said he didn't know and whoever actually did it, didn't want his or her name written down in history. Seeing how much blood was shed before, during, and after the Great War when it was introduced, everyone could understand why he or she didn't want them ȧssociated with it.

.

That was one thing that Logan made sure they all understood in his classes, good and evil are arbitrary no matter where you go. A good thing in one place is evil in another. It was a tuff pill to swallow for everyone when they didn't believe him until he showed footage from an S.D.C mine. The footage showed both Humans and Faunus being treated worst than the dirt they walked on. Many students ran out of the room to puke and several Faunus openly cried. Weiss even started crying and saying sorry over and over again as the video played. The video was one that Logan filmed before liberating everyone from that mine.

.

The lesson soon ended after Logan went over the weapons that appeared in the Great War, saying that next class they would be going over them and what they lead to today. A lot of them were actually surprised at how Logan handle the lesson and liked how he used his ash to help with the lesson. Glynda was thanking Logan for what he did while she was gone and asked about her other lessons. While they were talking, Jaune asked to speak with Logan privately.

Logan: "So, what's wrong?" Logan asked as he could tell Jaune was nervous, Glynda left to go get lunch.

Jaune: "Well, as you know, me and Pyrrha are a thing." Jaune said as he rubbed the back of his head.

Logan: "Yea and it's a miracle that you two weren't attacking each other's faces like you usually do." Logan joked about how they made out. "What happened? Did the two of you fight or something?"

Jaune: "We... she..." Jaune struggled to get the words out.

Logan: "Did the two of you finally F*ck?!" Logan asked, surprised beyond belief.

Jaune: "...yes..." Jaune said in a small voice.

Logan: "Let me guess, she rode you the entire night." Logan joked.

Jaune: "I... it isn't that simple." Jaune said as he scratched his head in frustration.

Logan: "Then sit and talk about how it happened." Logan said as he led Jaune to a desk.

Jaune: "It started out as a date in Vale, about a week ago." Jaune said as the two of them sat down. "I took her out to see a new movie that was playing then took her out to dinner. It was all going great until we went to get a Bullhead back to Beacon. As we grabbed a Bullhead, it shut down and couldn't restart. Turns out there was a maintenance issue and there was be no other Bullheads to Beacon at the time. When we got out, night had already fallen, it was starting to rain, and there was no way to get to Beacon. She called Nora, telling her and Ren about what happened while I was looking up a hotel for the night.

.

Logan: "So far, pretty normal." Logan said.

Jaune: "It gets worse." Jaune sighed. "The only place we could afford was a place called, 'Lovely Nights'. We were short for other hotels, even with the ones that give discounts to Beacon students. It was cheap enough for us and it was pretty close by. We got there just as it started to downpour. The receptionist was nice and got us towels, as we were checking in we got a deal."

'

Logan: "I see where this is going." Logan said when Jaune got quiet. "That hotel the two of you went to was a love hotel."

Jaune: "...yes..."

Logan: "The two of you got one room together." Logan said as Jaune slouched. "One of you went and took a shower while the other one waited in the room."

Jaune: "...yes..."

Logan: "While one was taking a shower, the other found an 'energy' drink. Then one thing lead to another. When you woke up, the two of you were nȧkėd and then you remembered that night."

Jaune: "...yes..."

Logan: "So, who attack who?" Logan asked the million Lein question to him, having already seen how the two wanted each other.

.

Jaune: "...ha..." Jaune whispered low enough for Logan to bȧrėly hear him.

Logan: "Repeat that, I didn't catch it."

Jaune: "It was...." Jaune said before a pair of hands were immediately shoved into his face.

Logan: "Pyrrha, please tell me that it wasn't you." Logan said as he sighed when he saw the hands.

Pyrrha: "I'm sorry..."

Logan: "You know what? I ain't doing this." Logan said as he stood up to leave. "This is your issue, you two need to sort this out."

Jaune: "Logan, please wait." Jaune begged. "The reason I wanted to talk with you was...

.

Jaune never got to say what he wanted to say as Logan left the classroom. Jaune sighed while Pyrrha grabbed his hand in comfort. Coming to a decision, Jaune looked at Pyrrha.

.

Jaune: "Pyrrha, I-"

Pyrrha: "Save it, I already know what your gonna say." Pyrrha said as she interrupted Jaune.

Jaune: "Are you okay with it?" He asked with worry in his eyes.

Pyrrha: "Yes, I'm fine with it only as a last resort." Pyrrha said with love. "If anything should happen to us, then Logan would be the first." She said as she kissed him. "However, that's gonna take a while though."

Jaune: "Haha, true." Jaune said as he giggled. "I love you, my Fire."

Pyrrha: "I love you too, my Knight."

.

Logan sighed as he walked into the cafeteria, heading towards the Teacher's Lounge. Logan opened the door and was greeted by the sent of Oobleck's dark roasted coffee and Port's wife's honey-glazed apple pies. He smiled slightly as he took a slice of a pie and a cup of coffee, Logan knew he would need the sugar and caffeine for his actual class after lunch. After Logan sat down, he was joined by several teachers who were looking forward to his lesson. They were Oobleck, Port, and Glynda. And each one of them had an important role in Logan's lesson or rather Beacon's tradition for the Hunter/Huntresses-in-training.

.

Logan: "You ready?" Logan asked with a sinister smile on his face.

Port: "Blowhard has just had its maintenance done and its blade sharpened." Port nearly shouted.

Oobleck: "Antiquity's Roast has had the same." Oobleck said as he pushed his glasses up which reflected the light.

Glynda: "As much as I want to rest from my trip, I'm prepared as well." Glynda said with a sharp gleam in her eyes.

Logan: "Is it just the four of us?" Logan asked.

Oobleck: "Well, we do want to give them a fighting chance." Oobleck said.

Port: "Any more and they'll just surrender at once!" Port bosted.

Glynda: "Indeed, we don't want to be too hard on them." Glynda said as she drank the tea she had.

Logan: "This is gonna be fun." Logan chuckled evily.
