RWBY: Fireborn

Chapter 61 - Dealing with Trouble part 2

Logan: "Finally!" Logan shouted as he entered an interrogation Observation room that had Glynda and Vale's Police chef inside.

Glynda: "Let me guess, Team RWBY giving you trouble?" Glynda asked as she glanced at Logan then back to the large window that looked into the actual interrogation room that held Roman cuffed to a steel chair and table; now wearing grey and black stripped prisoner clothes.

V.P.C.: "I doubt that it was that hard." The Chef commented. "Oh, names Slate by the way." He then introduced himself with a hand held out.

Logan: "I had to rewrite two of them, Weiss at least knew how to write a report up." Logan told them before shaking Slate's hand.

Slate: "I see..." Slate said with a sweat-drop. "I can see why now."

Glynda: "Well, RWBY aside, Roman hasn't said anything since he was brought in." Glynda said as she continued to watch Roman through the glass. "And we haven't found anything about the girl that came to his rescue."

Slate: "She has no record in the database." Slate told Logan. "She doesn't come up in any other kingdom either."

Logan: "Before I came in, I got into contact with a few less then 'clean' friends." Logan said that brought the attention of Glynda and Slate to him. "Her name's Neopolitan. The daughter of two Hunter's that gave their lives to save a village from a Grimm horde." Logan told them. "And they were my saviors well."

Slate: "What the hell was she doing trying to help a criminal?!" Slade shout at the revelation while Glynda gave Logan a look.

Logan: "Her parents had too many enemies to take care of her." Logan explained. "She ended up with a trusted friend of theirs. But, by her tenth birthday, she was abused and sold to a group of people as a sėx slave. She killed the buyers and those that took her in, after that I don't know what happened." Logan explained further. "I've been searching for her ever since they saved my life. I never would have thought she would ended up with a criminal."

Slate: "I... I didn't know..." Slade mumbled with his head down as Logan walked passed him towards the window.

Logan kept quiet as he stared at Roman through the one way glass. Even in clothing used for prisoners, he managed to make them look decent. Roman just sat there with his hand holding each other while he stared ahead, as if he was looking right through the glass. Logan just stood there for a few moments as he examined Roman.

With a sigh, Logan left the observation room and entered into the interrogation room with Roman. Roman looked right at Logan as he entered, yet didn't say anything. Logan, as he entered, created several small balls of fire and sent them to rotate around the room while he sat down opposite of Roman. The two of them just sat there staring at each other while the balls of fire floated lazily around the room. They stared intently at each other as if they were in a staring contest for a solid five minutes before Roman broke line of sight.

Logan just huffed at Roman's action. Expecting him just to make a rude comment or joke at his expense. Not for him to just look away like a small child getting scolded.

Logan: "Do you see me in a uniform?" Logan asked in a bored tone.

Roman: "Oh, I'm so sorry mister Hunter! I mistook you for a cop!" Roman then sarcastically shouted. "So what's it gonna be? Good cop, Bad cop? Or are you gonna use physical harm to get me talking? Just so you know, I have rights and physical harm can be used to drop any and all allegations. After all, you can't be sure what their saying is against their will or not."

Logan: "Mister Torchwick-" Logan started.

Roman: "Please, Mister Torchwich was my bastard of a father. Call me Roman." Roman said with a sickly sweet smile.

Logan: "Well, Roman. My name is Logan Scarlett." Logan said with a outputting smile. "As I'm not a cop and that your here in an interrogation room with me, That means I can have some fun with you before I have to turn you over to my partner behind the glass." Logan spoke as he gestured behind him.

Roman: "Oh! So it's Good Hunter and Bad Hunter!" Roman squealed in mock delight. "How exciting!"

To which Logan just smiled at Roman.

-Behind the glass with Glynda and Slate-

Slate: "Roman's right." Slate said with annoyance. "We can't physically harm him with out any and all charges dropped."

Slate: "What do you mean?" Slate asked.

Glynda: "Mr Scarlett has, due to his semblance, access to several types of flames that do more then just burn things." Glynda said as she watched Logan.

When Slate realized that Glynda wasn't gonna say anymore about it, he turned towards the glass just in time to see Logan summon one of the fireballs he made back to his hand. They watched as the bright yellow ball slowly changed into a royal purple color. The sight alone made it look majestic and it had a sense of power in such a small ball of fire.

They watched as Logan lightly pushed the ball of fire towards Roman. Roman, knowing that Logan couldn't hurt him, watched as the ball floated to his forehead and just touched his skin. Roman's head then sagged forward along with the rest of his body with the flame sticking to his forehead. Glynda and Slate just watched and waited for Roman to wake up. Logan just sat in there with his head in one hand and the other just drumming away on the steel table.

Slate: "What does that flame do!?" Slate asked Glynda as she watched on with a passive look.

Glynda: "As far as you need to know, Logan's purple fire does no damage what so ever." Glynda explained to him. "But, the one that comes into contact with it passes out for a short duration and experiences hallucinations."

Slate: "What kind of hallucinations?" Slate asked worriedly.

Glynda: "Whatever the person fears the most, Logan doesn't really have control of what they see." Glynda admitted. "It may be something even random. Completely out of his control."

Slate: "So he doesn't control what they see?" Slate asked. "What if they see something that make them go into a blood thirsty rage? Or something that can make someone pass out or have a heart attack?"

-Back with Logan and Roman-

Logan waited for a few moments while Roman underwent the hallucinations of his flame. After a minute, Logan removed the flames from Roman's forehead with a flick of his finger and watched as he jerked up with his eyes darting around the room before they landed on Logan. Logan just smiled at him while the purple flames danced on the tip of his finger. The smile Logan had was devoid of warmth, yet held a dangerous feeling behind it.

Roman, in all his greatness, shuttered at the smile. Even after being released from the hallucinations, Roman's mind was working at a rapid pace. Going from one possible solution to another to get himself out of this problem. Logan, seeing in Roman's eyes that he's trying to find a way out of this, chuckled.

Logan: "So, you ready for another round?" Logan asked as he sent the flame forward one a agin.

Roman: "Wait-" Roman tried to shout for him top stop but was too slow.

Logan: "You ready to talk?" Logan asked him after letting Roman experience the hallucinations for another minute.

Roman: "YES, PLEASE!! Just don't use that on me again!" Roman shouted as he tried to get away from the flame on Logan's finger.

Logan: "Good. Then I guess it's my partner's turn from here" Logan said as he got up to leave. "But remember, I can still come back with my little flame again should to be, uncooperative. Okay?"

Logan then left the room while leaving Roman with a smile that would hunt his dreams. As he shut the door, Glynda walked up to him with a slight scowl on her face. Either Roman was in for a hell of a time with her, or Logan was.

Glynda: "We are, but you get to deal with the Police Chef." Glynda said with some heat. "He almost pissed himself when Roman tried to get away from you and your flame."

Logan: "Got it" Logan said as she went to open the door. "I gonna go get coffee, you want some?" Logan asked.

Glynda: "Please." Glynda replied as she left Logan in the hall.

Logan sighed when Glynda left him alone in the hallway. Getting out if his head, Logan went and checked up on Slate before asking him if he wanted any coffee. Getting no order from him, Logan headed out to a coffee shop he frequented in Vale; not that far from where they were. Getting his and Glynda's coffee, Logan then stopped by a connivance store and picked a special little item up and kept it in his [Inventory]. It took about twenty minutes to get everything and get back to the station where Roman and Neo were being kept.

Getting inside, Logan found Glynda and Slate going over what Roman told Glynda and a few things he gave on his own free will. Roman gave up several places that he was storing the stolen dust get got and several safe-houses he had. A dozen or so of his conspirators too with it all. Logan was surprised that Roman gave all of that up and even shrunk away from him when Roman was being transferred into a cell. The look Roman gave Logan was as if Logan was his personal boogeyman. Logan just gave Glynda her coffee as the two of them followed Slate to a another interrogation room the held Neo inside.

When they entered, on the other side of the glass was Neo in grey and back stripped prisoner clothes. She was like Roman, cuffed to the chair and table. But unlike Roman, she had her head held down with her eyes staring at her folded hands looking like she's on death row waiting for her turn on the chair. Glynda and Slater were talking about how they would go about getting Neo to talk while trying to avoid her childhood traumas.

Logan took this time to leave the room with them and head on over to the room with Neo while taking what he bought out of his [Inventory] without being noticed. Once inside,Logan set two clear plastic bowls on the steel table alone with two clear spoons. Neo had looked up and watched Logan with curiosity. Logan then set a tub of ice-cream down in of her and her eyes widen. What Logan set in front of her was a tub of Neapolitan ice-cream and it was just out of her reach.

Logan: "Sorry, it was the only flavor they had left." Logan said as he began to scoop out Ice-cream into the bowls. "If you don't like it, just say so. I'll still eat it."

Neo: 'No, it's fine' Neo signed with her hands when Logan asked her. 'I'll eat it.'\

As Logan said this, he slid a bowl of ice-cream to Neo who started eating with gusto. Logan chucked silently as he watched her eat the entire bowl within seconds then eyed the other bowl. Logan smile and slid the second bowl over to her. When Logan went to speak, the second bowl was slid back to him empty. Logan was surprised as she was just as fasy as Ruby was with freshly baked cookies from Summer.

Logan: "Well then, first off, I'm guessing that it's selective mutism as there is usually some sort of marking when someone is born a mute." Logan started as he slid the tub over to Neo, who then started to eat it like a regular person. "But I already know that since I know who you are, Neopolitan." Logan said and Neo suddenly stopped eating. " I know who you are and what has happened to you. I know about the abuse. I know about the attempted ****. And I know your real parents, not the sick bastards that abused and sold you off."

That was all Logan got out before his sight was blocked by tricolor-ed ice-cream goodness and sugar that burned his eyes.
