RWBY: Fireborn

Ruby: "Where is Logan?" Ruby asked as everyone was on a hair-trigger and ready to exterminate the ȧssailant.

.

The ȧssailant fell back onto his/her hunches and stared in disbelief. Almost the entire Hunter portion of the school was armed and aiming their respective weapons at him/her. And to top it all off, they all knew he/she wasn't Logan Scarlett. The ȧssailant was at a loss seeing the armed force that stood before his/her eyes.

Assailant: "How?" The ȧssailant asked while chuckling a little.

Ozpin: "You missing the coffee." Ozpin pointed out. "Without that, we might have just believed your performance. Though, miss Rose here was on the one who discovered you in the first place."

Ruby: "Next time you try to ȧssassinate someone, make sure you lock the door."

Assailant: "You walked in on it?" The ȧssailant asked in disbelief. "You know I blew him up, right?"

Ruby: "..."

Assailant: "Doesn't matter." The ȧssailant said. "I doubt even he could survive having half his body explode on him on top of having a pierced heart and cracked open skull."

Ozpin: "Who sent you?" Ozpin demanded as he saw the form the ȧssailant took. 'That form... If it's one with a name, then the King is making his move.'

Assailant: "Now, why would I go and tell you that? It takes all the fun out of what's about to come." The ȧssailant, now known as a Grimm, spoke.

Salem: "Speak worm." Salem spoke softly, yet she radiated power as the ground beneath her cracked.

Assailant: "Now, now. Don't get your knickers in a twist there, you ancient granny." The Grimm taunted. "After all, the party is just starting!"

As the Grimm raised its arms, numerous explosions echoed out from Vale. Screams, roars, sirens, and wails of people and Grimm were heard throughout Vale and Beacon was no exception. The Grimm ȧssailant let out an echoing cackle that could easily be heard over the noise as the Hunters-in-training were caught off guard. Ozpin and Salem eyes's never left the Grimm, knowing that if they did look away it would escape. It was their only chance to get information about the current Grimm King, yet they stood at a crossroads. On one hand, they could get information that could turn the tide of their shadow war with the Grimm King; the other was the deaths of all those affected by the Grimm's plans.

Assailant: "So, what's it gonna be?!" The Grimm shouted at Ozpin and Salem.

Making a decision, Ozpin and Salem started ordering the students to go help those that they can in Vale while the teachers were to go evacuate Beacon and see to the students. As the teachers and students started to scramble to do their jobs, the Grimm ȧssailant morphed and started to escape in the commotion. As the students and the Grimm ȧssailant, at least those that could make the jump into Vale descended the lift; a massive explosion of golden flames erupted from Beacon. The flames traveled up beyond Ozpin's office before they converged into a bird of prey that could be seen for miles upon miles.

Soon after it appeared, the noise stopped as if someone muted the entirety of the Kingdom of Vale as everyone, Human, Faunus, or Grimm, stopped in their tracks. The bird closed its wings then opened them while releasing a deafening screech as waves of multi-colored flames cascaded out from Beacon. As the flames traveled throughout Beacon, numerous fireballs shot out and took out any flying Grimm while the flames rolled over person and Grimm alike on the ground. The Grimm that were caught up in it were burned to a crisp and destroyed while anyone caught was healed by the flames. In seconds, every Grimm on Beacon's campus was disintegrated and all personal were healed.

Ozpin: 'What's going on?' Ozpin thought as he helped Salem up as he looked at the massive bird. 'Could it be Logan's semblance at work?' Then he turned to Salem. "We have to go. Beacon's secure and Logan's on his way."

Salem: "Right." Salem agreed as the two of them headed off to Vale. "Let's just hope that Vale will come out okay after this is all over."

Ozpin: "If that mass of fire isn't Logan, then I'll eat my cane." Ozpin said as the two moved away. "Besides, what you said before about him has come true. He's finally shattered. He'll never be the same after this."

Salem: "Then let's hope that Glynda can bring him back when it matters the most."

[RWBY: Fireborn] {Logan's P.O.V}

Where am I? Everything feels so different...

.

I can see the shattered moon... Is that Beacon below me? But why is everything so small?

.

I can see Grimm but why are they just standing there motionless? The students too...

.

I have to do something...

.

Did I do that? I don't remember being able to use that much fire so easily. Did my actual death and rebirth change something in me?

.

Wait, Vale's in trouble too. I've got to get down there fas..t?

.

I just blinked and I'm here? When did I get so fast? And why is everything back to normal?

.

Questions for later, I've got to deal with the Grimm first then save whoever needs resuing.

{With Logan (Not P.O.V)}

.

As Logan set foot in Vale's square, he was cloaked in ash-made armor, a golden flame hood, and a pair of burning wings that was made up of numerous colored flames. It looked like a mixture of his old world's armor with knight's plate mail pieces. In his hands was the [Ace of Spades] in one hand and the other held a late medieval longsword. Yet, Logan didn't seem to notice that fact. Only that he was armed and ready to fight.

With a single step, Logan traveled faster than anyone's eyes could see. In seconds, Logan had scoured an enter city block, including the insides of buildings. Any Grimm he came across was either shot or cut leaving them to dissipate into black particles in the wind. Any civilian he had come across was moved towards Beacon's lift, having already been cleared out along with the Grimm ȧssailant.

.

Block after block, rescue after rescue, Logan did what was necessary to save as many as he could. However, Logan was starting to slow down. By the time Logan had gone over two-thirds of vale with a fine-toothed comb, his golden hood was gone and his flaming wings were down to a third of their original size. His ash-made armor was covered in blood from those that were injured he had rescued and healed. Logan himself didn't feel anything as he kept moving.

Soon after, Logan was moving a part of a house to get to a trapped child when he was slapped away by a Manticore, dropping the bit of rubble he had in his hand. Rolling to his feet, Logan lunged and swiped his sword at the Manicore's head. The swing took the Manitcore's head clean off with an entire city block as collateral damage. Getting back to the child, Logan moved the rubble away to find the child dead from blood loss. Sighing, Logan took some ash and wrapped the child up before transporting their body back towards Beacon.

After dropping the body off, Logan made his way towards the last few blocks he hadn't covered. Upon arriving, Logan found several Hunters battling numerous Beowolfs while protecting civilians. In a 'blink and you miss it' moment, Logan appeared before them while all the Beowolfs' heads exploded. And without missing a beat, Logan wrapped ash around a civilian; binding them completely before more ash picked the group up and transported them to Beacon. Once the civilians and Hunters were out of sight, Logan shot the bound civilian that he left in front of him.

Assailant: "How are you still alive?" The Grimm ȧssailant growled out as the ash fell away and it started to reform back into its original form.

Logan: "..." Logan just stared blankly at it.

Assailant: "Doesn't matter, I'll just-"

.

Before it could finish speaking, Logan decapitated the Grimm with his sword with it being coved in crimson flames. The Grimm slot its head, yet the mask was still in one piece. When the mask touched the sludge it was made up of, it started to reform. With a quick thrust, Logan pierced the mask before setting the entire thing alight. Logan sighed again as he made his way back towards Beacon, his wings slowly fading into embers and his ash armor showing holes.

As Logan slowly waked towards Beacon from the main roadway, the real Sophia, his family, Glynda, Salem, and Ozpin saw and rushed to him. The first to arrive was Glynda as Logan fell forward as his wings faded away and his ash-made armor lost its form and fell back into ash. His sword clattered on the ground along with the [Ace of Spades] as Glynda caught Logan in her arms.

Logan: "I saved all I could." Logan muttered when he was turned over and the first thing he saw was Glynda's emerald green eyes.

Glynda: "That's all that anyone could ask of you." Glynda said as she laid his head on her ŀȧp. Are YOU okay?"

Logan: "Just tired..." Logan said as his eyelids became heavy.

Glynda: "You can rest for now Logan." Glynda said as Logan fell asleep. "We'll deal with what's left to do."

Sophia: "How is he?" Sophia asked as She and the rest of Logan's family caught up.

Eva/Ava: "Is Logan going to be okay?" The twins asked.

Glynda: "He's fine, just heavily exhausted." Glynda answered their worries. "However, he's gonna need rest, I just don't know for how long."

Ozpin: "He can rest for as long as he needs." Ozpin said as he looked back at all the people Logan saved. "We can handle the clean-up on our own. Suggestions and ideas, now."

Salem: "Agreed, for now, we should secure the walls in case more Grimm invade." Salem suggested to which Ozpin nodded.

Azrael: "I'll go grab as many workers as I can along with a few Hunters." Azrael said as he started to move back to the crowd. "Once the walls are supported and secured, we can clean the streets and rebuild."

Ozpin: "Good, use my name if you need to." Ozpin said as Azrael walked away. "Now, you two," Ozpin directed his gaze at Ava and Eva, "How do your semblances work? Logan mention they work in tandem with each other but never disclosed what they were."

Ava: "Me and Eva can teleport to each other and back to where we once were." Ava explained. "We can also transport things with us but there's a limit to what we can move We call it 'Exchange'."

Ozpin: "Very good, I'll gather some of my most trusted hunters to guard one of you while the other stays here, guarded by myself and Salem." Ozpin stated. "The one that goes will gather any and all supplies they can find and bring them back here. Dust, food, clothes; anything at all. We don't know what's to come so be better prepared."

Ava/Eva: "Okay!" Avan then turned to Eva. "I'll go, you stay here."

Sophia: "I'm going with you Ava." Sophia said as she saw that Logan was in good hands. "I can't let my girl go with complete strangers now, can I?" She said then glared at Ozpin "Hurt my daughter, and I'll show you hell. Got it?"

Salem: "We'll guard her with our lives." Salem spoke up. "You have our vow." To which Ozpin nodded.

Sophia: "Good." Sophia said as she walked over and picked up Logan's [Ace of Spades] and sword. "When Logan wakes, tell him I borrowed his things." She said to Glynda. "And take care of yourself, you are carrying my Grandchild."

Glynda: "I will." Glynda replied as she used her semblance to pick up Logan. "I'll start coordinating with those that want to help and start getting shelters built and supplies distributed. The emergency bunkers will have to do for now."

Ozpin: "Good, then let's move." Ozpin said as the group started moving back to Beacon. 'However, I'm afraid the war has just had its opening shots fired. And I'm certain that this won't be the last time this happens.'

A/N: Had a very long week of just trying to write this part alone, not counting IRL problems. However, I managed to finish this chapter with 30 minutes left.
