Nikita

Chapter 137 - 036: She Who Has Answers

[ARYA]

"Isn't that what you want? To get this over and done with?" Ken asked Arya who just smiled at him. They had been on the road for the past hour and Arya considered taking a break from this all. The only issue was that everywhere around them looked like a desert. She still had to drive another thirty minutes to enter the city or to see the closest shop where they could sit and eat. She was famished and needed to eat before her stomach growled a little too louder.

"Yeah i do, but he has to find some shit out on his own" Arya said and she was right. As much as she wanted to help the doctor, all she could do was help him. He needed to find out everything on his own and deal with them. She wasn't always going to be there to guide him or be the person who brought food to his doorstep. He was admitted to a werewolf alpha and he had to learn to go hunting on his own or stay hunted. Though Arya wouldn't ever agree to let her mate be the hunted one. She would push heaven and earth to have him on the hunters' list.

"What are you planning?" Ken said as he also looked around. He was apparently beginning to get hungry too. He was curious as to what the alpha was planning. Having known her for all those years, Ken was sure the girl had a plan or rather several plans to put in motion in case the one she had didn't work. It was almost like she knew the contingency of her contingency plans. She always had a way out..

"It's simple really, I'll use myself as the bait. I'll even show the good doctor my greatest talent which is to be a royal pain in his ȧss" Arya said as Ken facepalmed. If this was her plan, then he would support her, but still, that didn't make it any saner. For a woman who had come out of captivity last night, she seemed to have the knack to fight anyone and everyone that wanted to fight her. It was like she was a very angry person and wasn't willing to tell anyone what pissed her off so oftenly. It was arzy really, how much anger she harbored in herself.

"Oh Arya"

"Smart, right?" Arya said enthusiastically like it was the best idea she could have come up with, barrel two hours after they had beaten and gotten beaten in the fight. There were times when Ken wondered how much pain the alpha could take on. Granted their wounds healed faster than anything, but the pain would still be there, the feeling of their bones being hit during the fight, the way they had grown so attractive to the people who cause others pain. It was like they were pain magnets, but even then Arya didn't say anything.  She was always closed off emotionally and they all hoped that someday she would find someone she trusted enough to confire in, someone who would make her days better someone who would be the shoulder for her. Hopefully the stupid doctro she was fighting for, also fought for her when the time came. Hopefully he defended her in her absence like she defended him while he thought she was his enemy. Hopefully someday he would be the peace she always wanted because if he didn't then he would have a whole pack of angry werewolves watching him, targeting him and being the pain in his ȧss.

"Always, but please be careful" Ken said to the alpha, waiting for the answer she would always give.

"I always am," Arya said before stepping on the gas. She needed to fill her stomach with food as soon as possible. When they reached the closest shop to the city, the duo enthusiastically walked in and ordered food, not caring about how bloodied they looked. They didn't care and the people around them also didn't have to care, besides, it wasn't any of their business anyway. They had fought for long, they had broken people's bones, but all they had to show of it was the blood on their clothes and the sweat that was sticking on them like shit. They looked like they needed a bath more than the food. The owner of the dinder they had walked into was however king enough to give them both a booth on the farthest end. Pin the place where they wouldn't be forced to interact with people and raise so many eyebrows. As they ate they watched television and there on it, was the man of the hour. Commander Qiao Xi had once again made the news. Of course Carrie was beside him, they always made crazy decisions together, but apparently, this one was the best decision they ever made. They had told the media that they were just stepping in on behalf of the young Pavlenko and that he made all the decisions. They reminded everyone that even though he was away, Nikita Rostova would always be present. He would always be there to sing off the deals, to make the decisions needed. Sure there were people who would never agree with him, but there were more important things for Nikita to do other than soothing their ego. Carrie as usual warned the public against starting malicious rumors against the doctor, especially now that he had stepped back from his position as the Todorov chief surgeon. They made it clear that he had done it, not because he cared about public opinion, but because he needed the breka to work on himself.

"These people are always yapping" Ken said when they had finished eating, at the moment, he was now energetic enough to go back and fight the bastards and not even leave a scratch on him. Those bastards had cost him information he had been hoping for for over eight years, but what else could he do anyway. Time would tell after all, it wasn't like Arya was never going to tell it to him. If Samantha was truly alive, then she would show up and the alpha would have to explain why she had lied. However, that wasn't the issue today. He would get his answers.

"Drew looks so cool standing next to his crush" Arya said as she paid off the bill and walked out, not caring about the pocket change.

"No one would even be able to tell how hard he wants to tell Qiao that he likes him. '' Ken laughed, a little too loud as the people in the diner turned to look at him like a psycho. Instead of apologizing, the little shit, just smiled at them sinisterly before giving them a sign that he would kill them all if they looked at him again. Arya joined in and together, they went back home to deal with whatever was left for them.. At least Rohit wouldn't try to cut off their ears, after all, they had come home alive.
