Nikita

Chapter 132 - Her Target

[ARYA]

She had her reasons and they knew that, but it seemed like she would keep defending her reasons even when she didn't want to.

Rohit wasn't sure; no, he understood.

He understood everythg about Arya, even all that wasn't supposed to be easier on him. he knew her choices, and he respected them, but that didn't stop him from worrying about her; it was just impossible not to worry.

"I need to get that shit out of the way so I can get to Nikita. The pack wants me back and I can only go back with the bastard of a doctor. If I eliminate everything that's messing with his brain, maybe I can finally get to live my life," Arya said, adding the last bit silently.

Ken and Enrique didn't know what to make of that, so they just watched. They don't know that Arya was doing this because she had to, not because she wanted to,  but hey,  they didn't want to risk their lives by asking her that.

It would be a harsh gamble,  one that they weren't willing to play today.

"But Arya—" Rohit tried again.

He wanted to make her understand that she could lose her life even though this was for her people. She had to be careful. It was already bad enough that she was the first female in the history of her pack and if she continued taking so many  risks,  she wouldn't even grow old enough to have a legacy.

He cared about her.

He was worried about her.

"No Rohit, time is of the essence. You and I both know that, and I need to make sure everything is okay before it all comes down. There isn't much time" Arya said, once again making the warriors curious.

"Okay fine, but at least take the warriors with you, please" Rohit pleaded.

He knew he couldn't stop her from going,  but at least she needed to have someone who would have her back. Someone who would help her in case shit went sideways. That was the only thing the human requested and seemingly understood because she decided on one of them.

"Ken, you're coming with me. Enrique stay here and guard this bastard. If anything happens to him, you're dead," Arya said, her alpha tone showing up and fading as soon as it popped up.

Rohit didn't notice it, but the werewolves could again feel the instant shift in power.

It was intense,  the kind that would've made them bow,  but Arya didn't use that tone to show them how helpless they were or to remind them that they were below her,  no,  she used it to pass the message across.

Rohit may have been a royal pain in the ȧss,  but he was Arya's pain. He was her friend,  the first human who saved her when she had run away from home and into a world no one ever thought she knew.

She owed him big time,  and if the human wanted,  he could ask anything of her, and she would give it without a second thought.

However, Rohit always wanted one thing,  Arya's safety.

He had studied the werewolf laws and understood them enough to know that the rogue alpha had a mate waiting for her somewhere.

He didn't want  to make her choose, because then she would be conflicted, or she would run away and leave them both.

It was something she had mastered over the years anyway.

Running.

"Yes alpha" Enrique said to the rebel. He knew it was pointless stirring an argument, and if he got her angry enough,  she could probably force her wolf to not come out for months,  and he didn't want to risk that.

There were so many maybes whenever it came to Arya. She was unpredictable, and that alone made her dangerous.

A woman who could leave her parents behind to pursue a life she knew nothing about.

A woman who couldn't care if the world was against her,  she was the ultimate weapon that the moonlight pack had,  and alpha Ricardo knew that. However,  the alpha didn't want to look at his daughter as the weapon and solution to their problems.

She was his daughter before anything else.

His little girl.

His angel, even though she was the devil himself, she would always be his darling child.

"I'll get your coat alpha," Ken said, walking out of the dining room and back to Arya's room. He had nothing to say about all this, at least he was glad she was taking him as the unnecessary backup,  he would get to feel useful.

"Don't call me alpha when we're in the midst of so many people," Arya reminded Ken who just nodded.

He knew that part of the ȧssignment by heart, and it had been grilled I my to hot when they were growing up. He may have been older than Arya by two years,  but he knew everything that was needed to protect the alpha female of the moonlight pack.

"Rohit, both of you stay safe. And send me the damn coordinates," Arya said as she walked out.

When she reached the door,  she turned to give Rohit a reassuring smile,  one that held the unspoKen promise,  the promise that she would stay safe,  that she would come back,  she always did,  but she needed to make him understand that she would be okay.

Rohit smiled back,  hoping to the goddess that this child kept her promise.

Her people needed her.

There wwe're people who cared about her,  those who needed her and more than anything,  Rohit hoped Arya would think of her mother,  the woman who missed her every single day. Hopefully, she would someday go back home and actually want to live there.

He wasn't sending her away,  he just wanted what was best for her,  and the moonlight pack was certainly it.

Arya's  Lexus Lx 570 was waiting for her in the parking garage. She had been worried for a moment that the black beauty had gathered some dust while she was out getting in trouble,  but her warriors had done a little bit of cleaning.

They had tried anyway.

Of course, they knew better than to turn it on to clean the dust inside. Ken looked at the ride and silently wished that he could sit on the driver's seat,  but then there was Arya.

"Get in, and don't think of driving my baby" Arya said and Ken's shoulders slumped, making the alpha smirk. He had only hoped to drive today,  but some things were way too precious to the rebel.

"You're mean" Ken pouted but Arya just smirked at him.

"Am I?" Arya teased as they drove off the parking lot.

"Can I ask something, and please don't blow off my head?" Ken asked carefully,  he still had dreams and one wrong move, and he would be dead,  dead, and dead.
