Chapter 35 – Marriage Proposal Part 1

Yan Lin left and Ms. Zuhua moved in.

Zu Jin had to work, so she didn’t have to be at home. And when she came home at night, they just had to fight.

Every corner of the house had a suffocating atmosphere…

After learning her lesson on the first day, Zu Jin was smarter on the next day after work.

She asked her secretary to book a restaurant, and then she drove home to pick up Zu Hua and Zu Xiaofei. Everyone ate out and it saved them from trying to coexist at home, where it was more difficult to do so.

But she didn’t expect that there was a children’s play area in that restaurant.

Zu Xiaofei waited until she ate most of her food before couldn’t help it any longer. She suddenly broke free from them and ran off to play.

For a moment, there was only Zu Jin and Zu Hua left at the dinner table. Even though Zu Jin was a person who could speak eloquently, she didn’t know what to say right now.

The only reason why they have been able to sit at the same table in recent years was because Yan Lin was between them.

Yan Lin had the ability to change the atmosphere and not let it just be awkward silence.

However, Yan Lin was not here this time. It was only the mother and daughter sitting together. Zu Jin could not even remember the last time they did this.

I don’t know what to do. I miss my husband so much…

Zu Jin complained silently on the inside, but her expression remained calm.

She looked up at Zu Hua across from her and said, “Are you full? Do you want to order anything else?”

“I’m full and no.”

Zu Jin had to put the menu down again.

After a moment of silence, Zu Jin was ready for them to not speak again.

But Zu Hua did not think that Zu Hua would say, “Why don’t you and Yan Lin have a wedding?”

Zu Jin was surprised for a moment.

The restaurant was brightly lit. They sat near a tall window, which happened to show the road.

A young woman in plain clothes was holding a little girl’s hand. They walked past them cheerfully talking and laughing.

Zu Jin drank a mouthful of the drink, but swallowed it before she realized that it was not wine.

“I just didn’t want to do it.” She shrugged her shoulders and still looked out of the window. “It didn’t make any sense.”

Zu Hua glanced at her. “How can there be a marriage without a wedding? It makes it look like you’re so shameful!”

Zu Jin thought about what to say next for several seconds.

Does Zu Hua feel like she had been wronged?

She put her cup down and thought of how to explain it. She said, “It was me who told Yan Lin not to do it. I was so busy with my work that I didn’t have the time, and the other reason was that I was pregnant at that time…”

Upon hearing this, Zu Hua immediately shook her head angrily.

“Stop using him as an excuse. I understand Yan Lin, he is a very traditional man. He must have wanted a wedding, but he was overruled by you. Aren’t you coming off a little too strong?! He is a man after all.”

Zu Jin never thought Zu Hua would have been so considerate, and her mood began to get a little complicated.

“Yes, it’s been hard for him these past few years,” she whispered.

With that said, Zu Xiaofei actually had enough fun and ran back by herself.

She fell into Zu Jin’s arms like a sparrow diving down.

After the two were affectionate  for a while, Zu Hua got up and put Zu Xiaofei’s small coat on her.

After paying the bill, Zu Jin drove them home.

While waiting for the traffic light to turn, Zu Jin suddenly thought of an exciting idea.

“Mom, how about I secretly prepare a wedding and surprise Yan Lin when he gets back from his business trip?”

With that, she looked at the navigator seat with a smile.

Zu Hua slowly turned to her. They looked at each other, and then Zu Jin was shocked.

She spoke to Zu Hua so naturally just now. It was like they were an ordinary family, where the daughter was acting coquettishly to her mother.

Zu Hua seemed to be shocked too.

“Oh… yes, that sounds good. I can help you with Zu Xiaofei. If you really want to do it, then do it seriously.”

Zu Jin gave an embarrassed smile. “Okay, I’ll go back and think about how I should prepare for it.”

In the evening, Zu Jin was lying down after taking a shower when Yan Lin called over.

“How are you today? Are you tired?”

Zu Jin turned to her side and put her phone on speaker. She closed his eyes and was nodding off while she chatted with him.

“It’s all right, it’s just today…”

“What’s the matter?” Yan Lin’s voice sounds low and magnetic, and the hypnotic effect was simply exceptional.

“It’s just that we ate out this evening and my mom and I talked for a while without arguing. It was kind of amazing.”

Yan Lin chuckled. “Isn’t that good? it shows that you both have made great progress.”

Yan Lin was at Chloe’s headquarters. He had a lot of things on his agenda, so he was really busy.

They didn’t talk for long before Yan Lin had to hang up.

Zu Jin was on the big bed alone. She thought that she would not be able to sleep well tonight without Yan Lin.

But somehow, she fell asleep quickly, and slept soundly, without a dream all night.
