Chapter 24 – Winning Back the Shares Part 2

Zu Jin entered the office and Ji Desheng was sitting on the sofa reading a magazine.

She went to the opposite side and sat down. She smiled and asked, “Would you like some tea? I feel like I haven’t made tea for you for a long time.”

Ji Desheng was silent and did not answer.

He quietly flipped through a few more pages of the magazine, and he seemed to be holding a lot of anger in his heart.

Zu Jin saw that he did not speak and did not say anything else.

She sat on the opposite with her legs crossed, picking at her nails with boredom.

She did not know how much time passed before Ji Desheng finally could not stand it.

“Are you in a relationship with Yan Lin?”

Yan Lin came to deliver food last night. It looked like someone recognized him and told Ji Desheng.

Zu Jin smiled and put her left hand up. “Well, I’m already married to him… I wanted to tell you, but recently I was too busy to do that.”

" "

Ji Desheng’s eyes fell on her hand, and his expression was amazed for a few seconds.

But in the end, it returned to the indifferent expression.

“You usually get what you want.”

Zu Jin knew what he meant, but pretended like she didn’t.

“Yes, I chased him on my own initiative. After a few dates, we got married.”

“Are you already pregnant?”

Zu Jin pursed the corners of her mouth in silence and nodded again.

“Yes, I just found out.”

“Not bad, if you can find a man like Yan Lin, then I won’t have to worry about you any more.”

At this point, Ji Desheng sighed. “I plan on going abroad the day after tomorrow. This time, I want to handle the shares in Qiyu that I own.”

“Will it be transferred to Shiyu?” Zu Jin asked quietly.

Ji Desheng replied, “Yes, but after what happened this morning, it seems like the shareholders will not be holding a meeting for the time being. I came here to tell you that it is over if you sign the agreement.”

Zu Jin got up. She went to her desk and brought a document over.

Zu Jin put it in front of Ji Desheng and said, “This is the evidence that some people anonymously reported about you. I think that even if the shareholders do not hold a meeting and I sign this agreement, the people on the board of directors will resist Shiyu’s membership.”

The document ended up not being opened and Ji Desheng’s face grew a little colder.

“What do you mean? Why are you doing this?”

Zu Jin sat back and looked at him with a smile. “I’ve done so much for you. I took this out to show it to you. Otherwise, you would simply have no idea what I’ve been busy with.”

Ji Desheng changed sitting position with an unsightly expression. He forced his anger down to say, “It was me who stood my ground and pushed you into this position in the first place. I have also given you advice on any troubles you have encountered over the years, or I have helped you handle them. Don’t tell me this was not enough?! Zu Jin, don’t become an ungrateful person.”

Zu Jin’s lipstick today was a light color, and it made her look a lot softer.

She usually looked domineering, but now that she was sitting in front of Ji Desheng, she looked young like how she appeared back in the past.

She always asked about this and that with a smile. She would ask it over and over again no matter how simple the question was if she didn’t understand it.

Back then, Ji Desheng would often praise her. He would say a person could only succeed in their goals if they had this kind strength and perseverance.

After all these years, Zu Jin really hadn’t changed at all.

It’s just that what she wanted was different now.

“Uncle Ji, I know a lot about being grateful. That’s why you have to reward me!”

Zu Jin opened her eyes wider and appeared innocent. “You have helped me a lot over the years, and I have always repaid you. You’ve been able to sit in the chairman position for so long. I deserve credit for that, right?”

“You!” Ji Desheng’s veins were protruding from his forehead and his face turned pale.

“But at this moment, you want to leave this troublesome place. Have you ever thought about how calm it has been as you are leaving, but I will be devoured alive by the board of directors? Also, I am guessing that Shiyu is unwilling to go with you?”

Ji Desheng gritted his teeth, but he couldn’t say a word.

Zu Jin smiled. She picked up the pen on the coffee table and handed it to him.

“Uncle Ji, write down the number. All of the recent events have been caused by Shiyu. If I don’t protect her, then no one can protect her.”

She didn’t know how long Ji Desheng was silent, but he finally took the pen.

His hand trembled as he wrote a number on the file folder.

Zu Jin glanced at it and said with satisfaction, “It’s doable. This number of shares is enough for me to gain a foothold on the board of directors. What about the share transfer agreement?”

Ji Desheng took out the documents. This agreement was originally prepared for Ji Shiyu.

Zu Jin took it and quickly flipped through it. Afterwards, she made a copy of it for herself.

Then she signed her name on it with a felt-tip pen.

She turned around and returned the two agreements to Ji Desheng. She watched as he lowered his head and signed his name.  The smile on Zu Jin’s face finally disappeared.

“Uncle Ji, back then, you taught me not to compromise on what will benefit me for my reputation. So if you don’t give me these shares, then I won’t be able to stay and protect Shiyu. I’ll repay you for this too.”

After Ji Desheng signed his name, he jumped to his feet..

“Don’t say those pompous words! I taught you, but I didn’t teach you to embezzle my benefits!”

With that, Ji Desheng slammed the door and left.

Zu Jin stood in a daze for a moment. She bent down to pick up the share transfer agreement he signed and looked at it.

“But I deserve this in the first place.”
