Chapter 76: Talking About Proportions

“Are you going out today, sister?”

“I will be performing at the next ball, so I made an appointment with the modiste for a new dress.” Nora had been sitting on the sofa after prepping herself, but Perre came over with some papers and sat down across from her.

“Are those documents for the estate?”

“It concerns this year’s harvest and being the purveyor of grape juice at the royal ball among other things…”

“What about father?”

“He’ll check it as well, of course. I’m simply preparing the relevant documents. Think of it as training for the future.”

Perre had been preparing to succeed the barony. Seeing her younger brother working hard, she couldn’t help but think about the future.

“You’re awesome, Perre.”

“What are you saying? Don’t you also know how to handle these documents? Besides, you’ve also been working part-time while doing house chores. For me, you’re much more outstanding.”

Feeling a little disheartened, Perre placed the papers on the table as his shoulders shrugged in dismay.

“Anyway, you’ll have your dress made today, won’t you? You must be happy. You can flirt to your heart’s content.”

“How did you know that?”

“I just do. Why don’t you opt for a sexy dress that Elias would like?”

Nora sighed, not understanding Perre’s implication.

“Listen, Perre. When it comes to sexy dresses, only a few people can wear them unlike cute dresses. It’s only for those with well-endowed bodies and glamorous faces, which I obviously don’t have.”

Besides, I don’t even know what kind of dresses Elias prefers.

“Well-endowed huh.” Perre muttered, then stared at Nora with a meaningful look.

“But you’re quite well-proportioned yourself.”

“You’re saying, no matter what, I’ve got nothing to showcase after all?”

Nora was certainly lacking meat, thanks to years of poverty.

“I may be the slender type and not voluptuous, but I’m still a lady.”

“It’s fine. There are those who prefer the well-proportioned type than the well-endowed.”

“What are you saying?” She gave him a sharp look, and Perre shut up.

“Well, in your case, you’re just a little slender because of the lack of food, but you’re not flat-chested.”

“Wait, how do you know that?”

“You wear light clothing at home so I can tell, against my better judgment. It’s fine. You’re more than average. I guarantee.”

Nora naturally felt angry seeing her brother talk about it so nonchalantly.

“My dirty-minded brother, I want to hit you.”

Why did I even think he was such a nice and kind child?

Nora glared at him once more, but Perre didn’t seem bothered.

“Does Elias perhaps prefer ladies with large breasts?”

“I’ve never asked him!”

“Shall I ask for you?”

“No need!” She shouted just as there was a knock on the door.

Perre immediately headed for the door to escape from Nora’s scathing glare. He came back with a dashing young man with grayish-brown hair.

“Hello, Nora. I heard some shouting… Were you fighting?”

“No, just…” She glared at Perre as warning and the latter faltered.

“It was a simple disagreement over our preferences. Anyway, off you two go! Hope you have fun!”

Nora sighed as she was shoved out of her house.

How can he say those things so openly?

“What preferences were you talking about?”

Nora’s anger gradually subsided as Elias’ beauty once again charmed her. But she didn’t feel like talking about her chest, so she tried to gloss over the topic.

“Just… about meat.”

“Meat?” He titled his head in confusion, but Nora didn’t want to entertain his curiosity.

“More importantly, why don’t we get going?” She managed to smile and quickly departed.

As soon as they arrived at the same dress shop as before, a female staff welcomed them with a big smile.

“The Azure Nightingale has gotten more and more popular, hasn’t it? Thanks to you, a lot has taken interest in our shop, in hopes of seeing Miss Kranz’s dress.”

""

“I see…”

They were ushered to a waiting room, where she was offered tea. The dress itself was of high quality as it was tailored in this shop, so it wasn’t surprising that they’ve gotten more customers. But Nora felt like it had nothing to do with her, so the staff’s gratitude was burdensome.

“Above all else, you are Lord Elias’ precious lover. So we are more than excited to give our utmost into this making dress for you.”

I appreciate the sentiment, but please stop emphasizing I’m his precious lover.

Nora felt somewhat embarrassed just listening to it.

But the most embarrassing of it all was Elias’ gaze as he gave her a smile.
