Chapter 59: The Jinbei Van

In an affiliated hospital in Zhou City.

Screech!

It was the sound of rubber tires coming to a stop. A Jinbei van turned into the hospital.

Two men in their thirties, one of them tall and another skinny, got out of the van.

They opened the car trunk and each of them pulled out a huge metal box. No one knew what was inside those boxes, but what was clear was that those metal boxes were basically of no weight in their hands. The men lifted them easily.

The tall and skinny duo seemed like they were on a mission; they looked as if they had already known the organizational structure of the hospital. After parking and locking the van, they carried the metal boxes and went straight to the underground floor where the morgue was.

At this moment, a few hospital employees in their lab coats were already waiting at the entrance of the underground tunnel. One of them, a greasy man with a bald patch, stood out rubbing his hands and attempted to greet the tall and skinny duo. However, the skinnier one of the duo said to him in an official tone, “Have you evacuated everyone in the underground floor like how you were instructed before this?”

The greasy man with a bald patch replied that everyone had been made to leave the underground floor.

“Whatever you hear after this, ignore it.” The tall and skinny duo walked into the lift and pressed the button heading to the underground floor.

They had the discipline of the army. They were meticulous.

Across the entrance of the hospital was a hotel named Jinxin Hotel. Fang Zheng was hiding on its rooftop, using the darkness of the night as cover.

It was already nearly half an hour since he left the Underworld Paraphernalia Shop.

When he asked Butcher Zhang for the truth about who he was, he did not get anything.

Butcher Zhang maintained his calm yet arrogant expression. He did not plan on explaining himself…

At this moment, the Jinbei Van that drove into the hospital at high speed cut Fang Zheng’s train of thought. Fang Zheng frowned and followed the row of anti-theft windows on the back of the hotel to leave the rooftop quickly.

It was suspicious for a van to arrive at the hospital after 11 pm.

Fang Zheng pretended to be a pedestrian and walked near the hospital. He chose to walk under the trees to avoid the cameras before turning into a quiet alley outside the hospital.

According to his calculation, this was the nearest spot to the morgue.

After about ten minutes, he successfully collected one cloud of Gray Qi.

Fang Zheng was excited; but soon after that, he frowned.

Could it be that Mr. Fu and Butcher Zhang were related to the ‘Bureau’? It could not be a pure coincidence that professionals from the ‘Bureau’ appeared at the hospital almost immediately after the walk in the underworld.

If the truth was what he had guessed, Fang Zheng began feeling a throbbing pain in his testicles…

“I had been avoiding the ‘Bureau’, but I went to someone from the ‘Bureau’ for a Death’s Head Blade?”

“This has more twists and turns than some drama between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law.”

The mother-in-law had been despising the ordinary upbringing of her daughter-in-law and blaming her for ruining the future of her son who studied overseas. She had been making life difficult for her daughter-in-law before eventually realizing that she was born in a richer family. It was her daughter-in-law who was willing to leave a life of riches behind to marry her poor son. At this moment, the rich girl’s family came over and notified the mother-in-law that they had accepted the marriage. On top of that, they whipped out a hundred million yuan in cash to make up for the dowry…

Fang Zheng was feeling exactly as testicle-hurting as this scenario.

He frowned and thought to himself, did Butcher Zhang tell what was different about him?

Otherwise, why did he bring Fang Zheng for a walk in the underworld?

After collecting a cloud of Gray Qi, Fang Zheng should have stayed where he was if he was acting by logic. He should have waited until the Jinbei Van leaves the hospital, trail them, and use the opportunity to find the exact location of the Supernatural Investigation Bureau in University Town.

However, Fang Zheng did not stay where he was.

He left the hospital.

Soon after that, Fang Zheng appeared near Technology University. This was where he lost track of the Supernatural Investigation Bureau’s SUV the last time.

Fang Zheng was meticulous.

It was unrealistic for him to continue following the Jinbei Van at the hospital. The complicated traffic and the cameras in the city were already a big challenge. These professionals would also have had high anti-scouting skills.

It was better to hide near Technology University and wait for his opportunity.

Time was passing by.

Hiding alone in the dark was boring, but Fang Zheng calmed himself and hid on top of a building. His eyes were locked on the road in front of Technology University.

Any slight commotion would seem more obvious than ever on these quiet streets in the night.

All of a sudden!

Fang Zheng, who was hiding in a high spot, saw a van coming from afar with its headlights on. Fang Zheng’s eyes lit up as the van appeared in his sight.

This was a Jinbei van.

When it was near, and its plate number could be read clearly, Fang Zheng confirmed that this was the Jinbei van that appeared at the hospital.

Soon after that, the Jinbei van drove across the road in front of Technology University and turned into the third avenue of Bachelor Street. However, his sight was blocked by a building in the Civil Engineering University.

Fang Zheng’s brows scrunched together.

He did not act hastily. He continued hiding.

One minute later… Two minutes later… Five minutes later…

The Jinbei van had yet to drive out of the third avenue of Bachelor Street after ten minutes. It did not appear on any main junctions nearby as well.

The third avenue on Bachelor Street was divided into a few residential areas and three universities.

They were University of Economics and Business, University of Communications, and the Teacher’s University.

Fang Zheng seemed deep in thought.

It seemed like the Supernatural Investigation Bureau was probably on the third avenue of Bachelor Street. Its exact location had yet to be confirmed.

The area was confirmed at the very least; it was around the University of Economics and Business, University of Communications, and the Teacher’s University.

Fang Zheng was shocked all of a sudden as he thought to himself, ‘Could this Supernatural Investigation Bureau be hidden in a university?’

Lu Dong’s mother was a lecturer at the Teacher’s University.

“This is getting more and more interesting…” Fang Zheng looked in the direction of Bachelor Street’s third avenue.

The Jinbei van did not appear again for another twenty minutes. Fang Zheng knew that there was no point in continuing his wait, so he left University Town quietly.

When Fang Zheng returned to his place, it was already around midnight.

Before entering his unit, Fang Zheng glanced over at Officer Wei’s place in guilt. It was still cordoned off.

It was still in ruins.

It was obvious that this was no longer a liveable place. After what happened that night, Fang Zheng never saw Officer Wei again. Maybe she was hurt and had yet to be discharged…

Fang Zheng entered his unit.

He locked his door and windows and did a few thorough checks before pulling out his Human Skin Scripture. He had three new lit parts of the runes in ‘savings’ after finishing what he had on training and evolving fake manuscripts.

Two of them came from the Paper Mache Man.

One came from the hospital.

Soon after that, Fang Zheng used one part of the runes on evolving a bowl of Blood Replenishing Medicine.

He planned to complete the training for the 24 levels of Golden Immunity Shield.

The more advanced he got with the Golden Immunity Shield, the more resources were needed to complete the training.
