God's Dynasty

Chapter 9 - Waking Back Up, Village Closeby!

As Ethan's Aurora began pouring into Ryan's body, it felt as if a blade was piercing through his veins. The Aurora which was now inside his body was wrigglin around like a snake and it began to rip through his blood vessel burning and tearing the flesh one by one.

Ryan bit his lips as the Aurora covered his entire upper body. He felt like he wanted to run away but he endured more. Slowly, the Aurora then covered his entire body.

"How are you? How do you feel?"

Ethan who saw Ryan shivering with blood dripping n from his mouth was confused.

"What? I did not put a lot of Aurora in your body to react like that!"

The Aurora had disappeared but the aftermath left a massive shock on Ryan's body. The boy fell to the ground and ġrȯȧnėd.

After awhile, Ethan then asked Ryan a question as he saw that he had bȧrėly overcome the pain.

"You okay?"

"Yes to some extent, even when I was stabbed during my life as a mercenary I never felt this much pain."

Ethan who stared at Ryan sighed.

"Give me your hand, I promise I won't hurt you this time."

Ryan flinched but he still gave it to him anyways.

"How are you now?"

"Much better than before, its now as if I am being stabbed with a needle."

"… Okay."

After removing his hand from Ryan, he began explaining the reason why Ryan is feeling pain.

"I think it is because your body is not an actual body but rather a body made out of a soul. The soul in much closer to Aurora then the body so the sense of Aurora is amplified hundred times more than what an average person would feel. Sorry, I did not realize that I was teaching soul not a person."

Ethan who was stroking his mustache clapped his hands together and smiled exaggeratedly.

"Well, it was fine anyway! If you get used to this level of Aurora then you can learn almost any skill. There are so many skills that can be learned by feeling just the subtle of sensations and you can skip the sensory development training entirely."

"… Would I have to get more Aurora into my body?"

"Yes, a few more times. Ah, look it is already time to part ways."

"Your body is disappearing."

When he looked at Ethan, Ryan realized that his vision was blackening out.

**

When Ryan awoke, he realized his face was buried in the dirt.

He turned around and saw that sunlight was shining on the altar.

It has been in the world for what he could guess was a whole night.

"…. Ah."

Ryan looked down on his body, which was covered in dirt. He did not expect to be in the same sort of posture that he was before being at the castle.

'Guess I'll just lie down and pray from now on.'

But as he thought about it, he realized he was left unprotected throughout the night.

"Damn."

If he wasn't deep in a forest, he would have been an easy target.

'I should find some sort of reliable person now that I am not a mercenary anymore.'

To Ryan, a colleague isn't someone he would trust a lot but at least someone who could defend him when he goes to the castle.

As he walked towards the door, the bright sunlight greeted Ryan.

From the distance, he spots smoke in the air.

'What's this?'

Ryan began traversing the forest, following where the smoke leads.

As expected, there was a small village near the altar.

The villagers weren't suspicious of Ryan as he entered the village, due to his young and dirty face and somewhat lean stature, the villagers thought that he was someone who had lost his parents in a robbery or something.

Although Ryan was by no means a actor, he could pass by as someone who lost his parents.

"Hey you! Are you okay? You seem lost! This place is dangerous, you can stay over at my place until you find the courage to do -"

"It's fine, thanks for the offer but I shall refuse."

Rejecting the old lady's offer, he began asking around the village trying to figure out where he was.

'Tsk, looks like I can't stay.'

Ryan knew that this place would be a great place to hone his Aurora, however there was a big problem.

"This is the village west of the citystate of Maram!"

Ryan joined the Beret Army as a mercenary, and if it became known that he killed Gabriel Prau, he would have a wanted bounty on him.

Although the villagers seem like nice people, he knew that they would do anything for money and wouldn't hesitate to killing Ryan for the bounty.

'Let's try reach the citystate of Beret for now.'

His plan is to go to Beret and receive his pay for joining the war as a mercenary.

Once he got the money, he would replace his weapons and armor while saving some money for his travel.

'That Aurora user, Gabriel must have had a sword. Shit, should have taken it'

Since the weapon was tailored for an Aurora user, it must have been a luxury item, but he did not dare steal it at the time for fear that the middle-aged Aurora user would track him.

'Gotta find a way to remove tracking magic, or at least try find magic that would tell me if its being tracked or not!'

After asking around, and grabbing food and drink from the villagers, he then walked south heading towards the city-state of Beret.
