God's Dynasty

Chapter 8 - Training with Legendary Heroes of Eld.

No one was allowed to meet the God of War in person.

Isbeil warned Ryan that the human soul was very weak and that meeting God would cause his soul to shatter, and therefore it would be Isbeil's job to inform Ryan on what to do and guide him in his training.

"Would these men train me?"

"Yes, once you have gotten used to staying here you'd be taken to your first master. Follow me."

She then led Ryan to a small courtyard, there was a knight leaning on a pillar with his arms crossed. As soon as the knight saw Isbeil and Ryan walking towards him, he was startled and quickly got up.

"Here, this knight shall be your first teacher."

The knight was quite young, around the age of thirty. His mustache was grown and his dark hair was greased and pulled back. He was bearing brass colored brėȧstplates on his body and the design was something Ryan has never seen before.

After introducing him, Isbeil said goodbye and left.

"I have work to do, you will return back to the forest where I found you whenever you are ready."

Having said that, she turned around and looked at Ryan with serious look in her eyes.

"I warn you however, never be arrogant. You have been blessed with talent that no human that has gained the power of the gods could compare to. The God of War never accepts a warrior who wallows in his own arrogance, be mindful."

Then, there was silence.

"Ah…"

For a moment, Ryan had looked at his teacher and pondered what to say. Far from being social, he did not know how to talk to such a warrior.

Fortunately, the man spoke first.

"Then, shall we start with a brief self-introduction. I am Ethan Kissen, the Black Dragon of the Empire. I died around three hundred years ago, have you ever heard of my name?"

"… My name is Ryan… Godsword… and I am a mercenary. I do not know any history at all."

Ryan with his limited knowledge felt embarrassed, and judging by Ethan's reaction he seemed quite disappointed at the fact Ryan did not know him.

"Well, that can't be helped. A high reputation swept away in the history of our great civilization. But… your last name is Godsword?"

"Yes."

"Raven Godsword must be your ancestor then, it would be nice if he found out about this."

"Is he here then?"

"Of course! How could the knight that killed a Dragon not be invited to the God of War's castle!"

The fact that his ancestor was here made Ryan feel nervous. He had wanted to meet him, the man his father had idolized but what would his ancestor think when he realized that Ryan sold himself to be a mercenary?

At that moment, Ethan clapped his hands and broke Ryan's thoughts.

"Come! Lets talk about that man later. We shall have a chance for both of you to meet. Shall we try learn something first?"

"All right!"

"Then let's first look at your body."

"What?"

Ryan then took off his top in the middle of the courtyard.

Ethan then looked around Ryan with a very careful expression in his eyes before stabbing Ryan's body with a dagger all over. Sometimes he would stab lightely, sometimes painfully.

But Ryan endured the process without even moving. To him, he was used to torture like this from his childhood.

After about a minute or so, Ethan nodded with a satisfied expression on his face.

"Indeed, no wonder you are his apostle."

Not knowing how to interpret his words, Ryan stood still while listening with a questioning look on his face.

Ethan who was shaking his head then asked a question.

"Seeing that you don't have any Aurora in your body, I'm guessing you was never taught?"

Ryan nodded his head.

"Then, let us begin teaching you on Aurora shall we?"

**

"First of all, you should really consider it an honor of learning Aurora from me you know."

Ethan who suddenly started to congratulate Ryan suddenly leaving Ryan confused and somewhat annoyed.

"Why you might be thinking? Well because I am Ethan The Black Dragon! Anyone within my vicinity would be cut by my Aurora and even Swordmaster had to think twice attacking me!"

Ryan rolled his eyes.

"Great"

Ryan simply nodded his head in response without no emotion, Ethan then shrugged as if he was receiving such a great compliment.

However after joking around for a bit he then went back to being serious.

Ethan's attitude became so serious that it felt creepy to Ryan, but Ryan was also thinking about the question.

"It's a power that makes us stronger, and helps us break the limit of our human body"

"You seem to know the bȧrė minimum, tsk."

It was harsh criticism, but Ryan knew that it was true.

"I am not blaming you for it however, because it seemed like no one educated you on anything. I don't know about how it is now in your age but in mine Aurora were not meant to be passed down unless you were of a noble lineage."

"Still the same in my age, but I've met some few non-noble Aurora users."

Ethan then nodded.

"Okay, so. Man is made up of three things. Body, mind and soul. The body refers to your physical body so flesh and bones. The mind refers to your heart and consciousness and the soul refers to the vessel that holds Aurora.

From his seat, Ethan straightened his index finger and pointed it towards the sky. Aurora began covering his finger leaving a black flame covering it.

"Ah…"

"You understand?"

"Yes."

Seeing Ryan nod his head, Ethan held out his hand.

"Great, so let's get started. Hold my hand"

As Ryan stared at Ethan's hand, Aurora began condensing within the area leaving Ryan in a state of shock.

Ethan then grabbed his hand, not allowing Ryan to avoid him.

"From now on, I shall infuse your body with my Aurora to stimulate your soul. When your soul is stimulated, then your body and mind would also fluctuate. Once you get used to that pulsating sensation then you'll be able to perceive it within your own body."

At the same time as the explanation, Ethan then poured his Aurora into Ryan's body causing Ryan to scream.

"GOOD LUCK!"
