God's Dynasty

Chapter 4 - The Chase

"Huff, Huff…"

Within a deep forest, where even the sun could not rise easily due to its dense trees covering the sunlight, Ryan was desperately running away while looking behind him.

There, an aurora user wearing full plate armor was running after him.

"GET BACK HERE MERCENARY!"

Ryan with his mouth shut in order to preserve stamina quickly found a slope before slipping down.

He quickly got up, looking behind him before seeing his opponent rolling badly on the ground due to his heavy armor.

'Distance is now widened!'

Escaping the forest was very advantageous for Ryan.

As an Aurora user, the opponent was much stronger, faster and had more stamina than Ryan. But because of his armor, he was much slower.

For the young aurora user, Ryan using the terrain against him would hinder his pursuit.

Perhaps if the escape had unfolded within a vast plain, Ryan would have been captured in less than a minute.

'By the way, how the hell are you still chasing me?'

It wasn't that Ryan just ran away, he had tried all kinds of tricks to outsmart his opponent. Making fake traces, footprints, staying out of sight and much more.

But each time he did this, the Aurora user would find his location quickly as if he can see Ryan from anywhere within the forest.

In addition, now that the pursuit was still going on for this long, the Aurora user was now getting used to running in the forest chasing after him.

He was going to be caught soon.

'… What can I do…'

'Sheesh.'

Ryan begun rummaging through his pockets on his waist, and pulled out the necklace he had obtained from Allen. He then threw the necklace with all his might.

The Aurora user who stopped running grabbed the necklace, like a dog that saw a peice of meat flying away.

Seeing this, Ryan was relieved and he figured out that the reason for the chase was because of the necklace.

After awhile however, the Aurora user who was looking down on the necklace raised his head.

"Oh fuċk."

The moment he saw the opponent's expression, Ryan ran as fast as he could again.

The Aurora user's face was like a demon, and Ryan's action of throwing necklace seemed to make the young man very uncomfortable.

**

He was evaluated for his talent in swordsmanship from a early age, and tahnks to that at the age of 17 he was decided to be the next disciple of Raiden, a famous swordsman in the vicinity.

Of course, he did not become a disciple only with his talents, but due to his brother who was the owner of the family that supported Raiden.

'Get strong, Gabriel. Make me proud.'

'Thank you, brother!'

Raiden's swordsmanship training ground was in another city, so Gabriel had to leave the city of Maram.

After several years of training under Raiden, Gabriel became a Aurora user at the age of 21.

Raiden congratualted Gabriel for the achievement and suggested he visit his family again.

However what awaited him was something that he did not expect.

"Lord Malik has passed away, now Lord Gabriel must lead the family."

But unfortunately, the supply force who had led Malik was ambushed by the enemy and annhilated. One day before Gabriel's return.

Gabriel weeped for his brother, and vowed revenge against the group who had killed them.

Fortuntely, there was a way to find the enemy. As children, both brothers shared a necklace made by a wizard who visited the family. The necklace contained the magic to find the wherabouts of the brother's necklace.

In addition to that, there was a survivor who took care of his older brother and said that the one who killed Malik had dark blue hair and was short compared to the other soldiers within the group.

A few days later, the city of Maram completely crushed the army of Beret thanks to his teacher Raiden who had slaughtered Aurora users one after another.

In the midst of catching up on victory and driving the enemy for a long time, Gabriel constantly activated contained the necklace and found the reaction of his brother's necklace. After awhile, the necklace began to respond.

"Master, the guy who killed my brother was nearby!"

"Come, guide me!"

Gabriel, his master and his squire ran on a horse following the magic of the necklace.

As the opponents weren't Aurora users, they drove their horses without hesitation and slaughtered everyone there. His master slain the mercenary commander with one blow with his sword.

Seeing the mercenaries completely disintegrated, Gabriel activated the necklace again.

The necklace pointed towards the boy mercenary who was running away in the distance.

The boy was short in stature, and had dark blue hair.

That was his target.

***

"I WILL KILL YOU, YOU BASTARD BORN FROM A WOMB OF A PIG!"

The Aurora user, Gabriel Prau was so furious that saliva had smothered his mouth completely while he was running.

It wasn't just his emotions that were completely different, due to the extreme emotional change his body was now pushing its limit.

He did not know that the necklace would cause such an extreme emotional change, which led to the Aurora user being much faster and angrier.

'Fuck, thought you cared only for the necklace.'

Ryan had expected that if he threw the necklace, the man would leave on its own. However Ryan couldn't help but panic when seeing that the man was chasing him with only the thought of killing him.

There was two options before him, either run faster or fight back.

'Damn, I'd rather fight then just run towards my death!'

Being an Aurora user doesn't mean your invincible.

Even Allen, who was his leader, was not at a level where Ryan felt that he was impossible to beat. Although he had never risked his life against an Aurora user, he was sure that he would win three times in ten fights.

The reason why he had run away earlier was because of the middle-aged man who slaughtered Allen with ease, but with the man who was chasing him Ryan felt a bit confident.

After checking the surrounding terrain, Ryan drew his sword. Both eyes staring at each other with the enemy looking at him with excitement and anger in his eyes. Ryan's body felt tense, as if the Aurora user in front of him was a predator staring at its prey.

The momentum was sharp, the air quiet.

Gabriel who was fuming in rage and excitement due to Ryan stopping, now felt solemn.

Then, Ryan made the first move.
