God's Dynasty

Chapter 19 - A Rich Man's Dinner

In this room, Ryan sat on the ground crossed legged while his eyes were closed.

The last time he had learned Aurora skills from Ethan, he had also been recalling his fight with Damion a lot. And so throughout his training session with Ethan, he had begun asking questions on what mages are and how they can get so powerful.

According to Ethan, the more powerful the devil is, the more powerful the mages who they contract are. It also determines how much mana they have, which is a special resource mages use.

However, many mages had realized that if they sacrifice their soul in return, they could increase their mana pool by quite a lot. But unregistered mages discovered it was more profitable to sacrifice other people than their own to get stronger.

This is of course what Damion had done, he had sacrificed many orphans and enemies to grow strong.

'The fact that I killed him shows that I do have what it takes to become a great Aurora user.'

Of course, Ryan knew that in reality, Damion wasn't a powerful mage at all.

But it did not mean he was a weak one either.

Perhaps if he was an Aurora user from the start of the battle, then Ryan would have slaughtered him without any issues.

Ryan then recalled what Ethan had said before he had returned to his world.

"My advice kid, do not fight any mage until you accumulate more strength and skill with your Aurora. Some mages could kill Aurora users with just a glance if you aren't careful."

The warning Ethan left was truly terrifying for Ryan. To die with just eye contact is something he had never thought would exist.

Ryan took off his shirt and laid down on the carpet with his face staring at the ceiling.

'Shoooooo…'

Ryan breathed in and out, he was about to attempt something that Ethan had warned him to be prepared for.

'Mind's eye.'

Mind's eye was a skill that allowed Ryan to check his body from within, and to manipulate the circulation of Aurora to specific points.

Seeing that his Aurora was faint, he then channeled it towards his heart causing it to beat quickly.

"…"

A few moments after he had circulated it to his heart, he then moved the Aurora that was now much bigger than it was before towards his bones.

CRACKLE! POP!

'Breathe'

The pain was immense, but he did not want to scream and alert Darth.

He did not know how long it has been, but the process of the Aurora being injected into every part of his body was finally over.

Ryan sighed, his body was now drenched in sweat.

The sensation of his body being broken and then healed was the most pain he has ever felt in his life.

The technique that Ethan taught him was akin to self-harm, but it was the fastest way to grow Aurora but the most dangerous.

"Aurora strengthens the body, but if your body can't handle the Aurora then you will never truly get stronger. So, this skill I shall teach you is something that I had used in order to grow powerful."

Of course, it did not take long for Ryan to learn the skill due to his gift of copying and mastering techniques.

"I need a bite to eat."

The servants, who were on standby then quickly heated the bath with hot water, which to him was a luxury he thought only nobility was allowed to have.

After washing his body and seeing that the sun was about to set, it was time for dinner.

**

"So you are the Aurora user that killed the unregistered mage! You are much younger than I thought! How old are you?"

When Ryan arrived at the hall, a chatty mercenary was already in front of Ryan and shook his hand.

The woman was around her mid-thirties and was half a head taller than Ryan which questioned whether or not it was a woman.

"I'm 18 years old, and you are?"

"Belladonna, but you can call me Donna or Bella, whatever you feel is right!"

Not wanting to call her name at all, Ryan just nodded and sat on an empty seat.

"Everyone, this is Ryan! This is the hero that killed the unregistered mage who sacrificed children in the back alley of Beret! He is a very talented Aurora user!"

Ryan who heard Bella nodded his head without saying a word, he did not want to have a relationship with them so he kept his silence.

"I am Cyel, an Aurora user. Pleased to meet you.

A man with hair that stuck out like the end of a broomstick stood up and introduced himself first with a standard military salute.

"I am Randal! I am a scout!"

"My name is Olrick, a priest that serves God of Earth."

"Katak! I am a mercenary, former captain of my own corps once."

Lastly, an unidentified person wearing a dark red robe was eating while staying silent. They were wearing an armband on their left arm, which was a triangle and an eye in the center of it. Ryan who has seen this a few times before knew that this was proof of a registered mage.

"That's the mage Leah. As you can see, she's far from sociable. Can you at least show your face girl? We should at least know each other's face!"

After seeing the appearance of the mage, Ryan tried his best not to show his surprise as much as possible.

The mage was a girl, around two or three years older than Ryan. Her red hair was cut short and her eyes were crimson.

Ryan wasn't shocked that the mage was a girl but rather was shocked that she was around the same age he was.

Then, the girl spoke for the first time.

"There, that is my face. Leave me alone."

After leaving such a cold remark, Leah covered her head with the robe once more and continued eating her meal in silence.

No one spoke for a while and Bella who saw this smiled.

"Come on now, let us eat and talk at the same time! Ryan, tell me how you defeated the unregistered mage!"

"I killed him."

"Please, don't be as boring as the mage over there."

Bella then glanced at Leah.

The food that they were serving was delicious. From the savory soup to the snow-white crispy bread. Everything was to Ryan's delight.

The dinner continued as planned, and everything ended with a somewhat pleasant atmosphere. Bella tells her jokes and the others respond to them.

As Ryan stood up from his seat, he suddenly heard someone calling him from behind.

"You."

Ryan turned around to see Leah with her hood still on.

"I'll keep my eye on you, I can see everything."

"Hm? What?"

Before Ryan could respond, Leah left and disappeared.

'What a strange person'

However, Ryan shook his head before walking back to his room. He had too much to focus on than her.

'Let's get some good sleep and stop by at the blacksmith to get that damned sword.'
