228. I’m Jealous

Translator: Ahve

Guo Hanxin was not angry. He was quite satisfied after all that happened.

After all, he was still patient enough to coax his little pet.

Wei Yuan went to Yan Chuyang’s bedroom.

He knew that Yan Chuyang often kicked off the quilt while sleeping at night.

Wei Qing had called yesterday and told him that he had to get up at around eleven o’clock in the evening to turn off the air conditioner for Yan Chuyang and tuck him in.

Wei Yuan turned the key and opened the bedroom door.

The bedroom was dark.

Wei Yuan looked at the bed under the light from the living room.

It was empty, and the quilt wasn’t folded up.

Wei Yuan panicked and rushed out. He ran to the toilet and shouted, “Chuyang? Chuyang?”

The boy wasn’t there.

Wei Yuan ran to the living room, but no one was there.

“What’s wrong?” Guo Hanxin came out of the bathroom when he heard his voice.

“Guo Hanxin!” Wei Yuan ran over and grabbed the man’s hand. “Did you see Yan Chuyang? He’s gone!”

“Don’t worry,” Guo Hanxin’s fingers curled gently around his wrist, “He’s now a grown-up. He can take care of himself, okay?”

“But it’s already midnight. Where can he be?”

“Maybe he doesn’t want to stay here, so he has found a hotel.”

“But when he came from school, he just carried a bag. What if he didn’t have his ID card and couldn’t check in?”

“Then, maybe he went back to the dormitory.”

“No,” Wei Yuan said firmly, “The dormitory is closed.”

“That means he’s home. Didn’t you say that your cousin didn’t want him to live here?”

“He’s home?” Wei Yuan seemingly realized something and hurriedly got rid of Guo Hanxin’s hand. He went to the balcony and dialed a number.

The person he called picked up quickly, as if he was waiting for his call.

“Hello?”

“Wei Qing,” Wei Yuan frowned. “Is Chuyang home?”

“No. What’s going on?” Wei Qing raised his voice, “How can he be home at this point? Isn’t he with you now?”

Wei Yuan tried to explain, “He’s not here. I don’t know when he left.”

“Did he tell you where he went?”

“He didn’t say anything.”

Wei Qing took a deep breath and suppressed his anger, “Alright, I’m going out to find him.”

Wei Yuan nodded. “Okay, okay, I’ll go out to look for him too.” He hung up the phone right after he finished.

Wei Qing immediately called Yan Chuyang.

However, the boy’s phone rang for a while before it was hung up. The second time Wei Qing made the call, the phone was turned off.

Wei Qing didn’t have time to get angry. He grabbed a coat on the clothes stand and strode out of the house.

Even though he knew that Yan Chuyang was already an adult and would be fine if he went out alone at night, he felt restless and just couldn’t stop worrying about him.

Wei Qing drove to the vicinity of Wei Yuan’s house.

Yan Chuyang didn’t have a place to go and he shouldn’t be far away. He might be wandering around now.

Wei Qing drove quickly and reached the neighborhood where Wei Yuan lived in ten minutes.

The man slowed down while looking out the window.

It was very dark outside. Fortunately, there were few people on the street in the middle of the night, and with the car lights on, he could see clearly those people around.

At the corner of the street, Wei Qing stopped the car and got out to look for Yan Chuyang.

After walking around the street, he still didn’t see the boy.

Right when he was so anxious that he was about to swear, he suddenly saw someone sitting there silently in the dark.

The man’s heart skipped a beat and he slowly approached.

That was when he saw Yan Chuyang sitting on the bench with his arms around his knees.

Hearing the footsteps, the boy raised his head and saw the man in front of him.

Wei Qing sighed, feeling anxious and angry. Yet when he saw the boy’s innocent and bright eyes, his anger all disappeared and he could only feel sorry for the boy.

The man took off his coat and gave it to the boy.

“No, thanks,” the boy murmured, “I’m not cold.”

Wei Qing still covered him with the coat.

Yan Chuyang sighed and didn’t refuse this time. He pulled the coat tighter. To be honest, although it was summer, the he could still feel a bit cold outside sitting there for two hours.

Wei Qing stood in front of the boy and asked, “Weren’t you staying with Wei Yuan? Why did you run out?”

Yan Chuyang lowered his head with his fingers grasping his clothes, “I don’t want to live in his house anymore.”

“Why?”

“I’m not happy.”

“Not happy?”

“Yes.”

Wei Qing sighed, “What are you so unhappy about? You’ve been staying in his place for a few days. Every time I call you, you always say you’re having a great time there. Remember?”

“But I’m not happy today,” the boy’s voice was dull.

Wei Qing’s heart trembled. He could sense the loneliness in the boy’s words. He squatted in front of the boy and stared into his eyes. “Come, tell me why you’re unhappy. Are you wronged? Or did someone piss you off?”

Yan Chuyang looked down and didn’t say anything. He just kept playing with his clothes.

Wei Qing held his hands impatiently, “Stop it, and tell me about it.”

The boy let out a sigh, “Wei Yuan brought his boyfriend back. They are so lovey-dovey. I don’t want to stay there because I feel a bit jealous.”

Wei Qing didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. How could the boy be so cute even when he was jealous? But on a second thought, he suddenly realized something and asked, “Boyfriend?”

Yan Chuyang nodded, “Wei Yuan seems to be in love with the brother of the girl he pursued a few days ago.”

“Are you sure?”

“I’m sure. They were wearing couple bracelets, and they were being so intimate, just like us.”
