206. He Didn’t Need Yan Chuyang’s Protection At All

Putting away the sticky note, Yan Chuyang opened the metal lunchbox that Wei Qing’s assistant had sent him and delicious smells wafted up from it.

It was dumplings.

The boy took one up and smelled it. Then he exhaled with satisfaction. It was the dumpling with shrimp, pork meat, and chives.

It was Wei Qing’s specialty.

Originally, Yan Chuyang wanted to start eating from the dumplings, but when he glanced at the pork with preserved vegetables beside him, he got a pang of pain.

Fang Jingshu lived quite a distance away from his school. It wasn’t easy for her to come here on such a hot day. What’s more, her youngest son was still in a bad condition and she could still make time for Yan Chuyang to cook him lunch and personally send the food over. She was trying to show him that she regretted what she had done to him.

The pork with preserved vegetables would be revolting if he hadn’t had it for two or three hours on such a hot day, but the dumplings were in the thermal box, so it could be a midnight snack for him.

After thinking about it, the boy put down the thermal box in his hand, pressing the lid firmly shut, and put it aside.

He decided to have the pork with preserved vegetables first. The dumplings could be the dinner or midnight snack.

The weather was unsettled in summer, and it was sunny in the morning while it turned gloomy after 3 p.m.

Thunder crashed in the sky.

“Hey,” Wei Yuan came over and nudged Yan Chuyang. “It looks as though the weather is going to turn nasty. Did you take an umbrella with you?”

Putting away the lecture notes on the table, Yan Chuyang stuffed them into his backpack and said with his head lowered, “No.”

“What should we do?”

“What else can we do?” Yan Chuyang turned around and looked at the umbrella in Wei Yuan’s hand with a smile, “Didn’t you bring it? Let’s get out of here and then I call a cab before you leave.

Wei Yuan’s expression changed. He quickly hid the umbrella behind him and said, “No, no way.”

“Why?”

“This umbrella… I have to share it with someone. Three people can’t walk under the same umbrella.”

Yan Chuyang frowned, “Three people? Who is the third person? Who do you want to share it with?”

Wei Yuan blushed and said with his eye flashing, “Hey, don’t ask! In short, I can’t go with you.”

Yan Chuyang stared suspiciously at the boy’s red face, “Wei Yuan, are you blushing now?”

Wei Yuan suddenly raised his voice, “Who’s blushing? I wasn’t!”

Yan Chuyang shook his head. “Do you have a girlfriend? The girl of your dreams, Guo Xiaoting?”

Wei Yuan sighed suddenly. Lowering his head, he snorted, “I’ll be laughing my ass off if I can share the umbrella with her.”

Yan Chuyang tutted, “It sounds that you don’t want to share it with the third person.”

“Of course!” Wei Yuan expanded his chest and exclaimed angrily, “I’m forced!”

Just now, Wei Yuan received a text saying that if he didn’t pick that person up with the umbrella, he would be hugged and kissed.”

Wei Yuan was unhappy. How could a man’s purity be tainted so easily?

“Alright then,” Yan Chuyang shrugged. “If it’s inconvenient, then you can go now. I’ll stay here for a while and leave when the rain lets up.”

Wei Yuan turned around guiltily. “Yan Chuyang, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. It’s just because…”

He was really forced by a bad guy!

The boy frowned. “It’s ok. Just an umbrella. Don’t make it so serious, ok?”

“Then I’m leaving,” Wei Yuan looked at his watch, frowning, he said, “Just wait here. If the rain doesn’t let up, call my brother and ask him to pick you up.”

Yan Chuyang was nodding, “I got it!”

Wei Yuan said goodbye to him and then rushed to the gate with the umbrella.

The students in the classroom walked out one by one, leaving Yan Chuyang alone.

He wanted to read the book, but he obviously overestimated his self-control. After sitting for a while, he couldn’t stand the stuffiness in the classroom.

The boy sighed. Stuffing the book into his backpack, he was going outside.

As soon as Yan Chuyang opened the door of the classroom, he heard the sound of rain.

It was the first rain of the high-summer. And it was raining heavily

Yan Chuyang came to the first floor and watched the gloomy sky from the corridor.

It was cool. The heavy rain took away the stuffiness and the scent of the soil came into the nose continuously.

Yan Chuyang exhaled deeply and felt the cool air.

There were a lot of students sheltering rain in the corridor, but soon they would be picked up by people carrying an umbrella.

Yan Chuyang really wanted to call Wei Qing, but he felt it would be a little hokey.

Wei Qing had his job. He was the boss of the company and he had many people under his command. Yan Chuyang could not let Wei Qing always hang around him.

Yan Chuyang sighed and watched those couples walk over with umbrellas.

Seeing the girl next to him nestle on her boyfriend’s shoulder, Yan Chuyang thought to himself that it would be good if Wei Qing was here.

If Wei Qing could be weaker, more incapable or much more ordinary, he could hold Yan Chuyang’s hand gracefully and take care of him without any pressure.

However, he was a capable man and he didn’t need Yan Chuyang’s protection at all.

Yan Chuyang was frustrated.

It thundered again, and the rain was heavier. Yan Chuyang moved back a little, waiting out of boredom. He suddenly saw a blurry figure walking closer to him in the distance.

As it was closer, he could see the person’s clear face. And the boy felt his heartbeat quicken as the person approached.

His heart was beating.

His heart was nearly beating in his mouth.

“Why don’t you call me?” Wei Qing unhappily stood in front of the boy with a black umbrella.

Yan Chuyang smirked, and he didn’t care about the people next to him. He pounced over and threw his arms around him tightly, “I thought you were busy and didn’t have time to pick me up.”

The boy had rarely seen Wei Qing blush.

This was the first time Yan Chuyang hugged him in public.
