Ancient Vampire in a Modern World

Mia turned her head back even though she could sense them through her senses but she was confused. Mia turned her head back even though she could sense them through her senses but she was confused. There were only nine of them, and as she remembered before, there were ten people in the group. She wondered where the other one went.

But as he thought about this she didn't let her guard down as the enemy approached them. They all held a sword in their hands as they continued to slowly surround Keiji and Mia in a V shape form. 

Mia looked at Keiji with a worried look on her face. She knew that there are more enemies and not just ten so she rejected her thoughts to let Keiji go first and she would fight them. She planned to let Keiji go so that she could unleash her full power. She was worried that if he lost control of her body she might treat Keiji as an enemy.

This is the only thing that is holding her back as she was confident that she could fight and defeat them. Her power increases every time her emotions go deeper. And as of now, her power is still rising up to the point that her power was already 40 times her strength before. 

That is how fast her strength rose because of the berserk skill which is his innate ability. And the sole reason for that is she was really nervous and worried at the same time which made her emotions in turmoil.

Mia kept track of everything that was happening in the surroundings, especially the location of her enemies. The arrows that were descending down to them. She can gauge their location based on her senses. She could hear the whistling sound of the air that was being cut by the arrows. 

Although she could tell that the arrow was getting nearer to them she couldn't tell their exact location which is why she was very cautious. The arrow continued to descend towards the ground and they are much faster than a bullet.

With Mia's current strength she could already dodge a bullet even though it was the bullet shot by a sniper rifle. That is where her strength reached just because of her skill. This is also the reason why she didn't want her berserk ability to become active. And the other reason is that she couldn't control herself and if she got out of hand. Her strength was enough to kill an entire town. 

Although she was the owner of this power it does not make her happy at all. This power is the reason why she was able to have a good life and become rich but this is also the reason why her brother was in a hospital. She speculated it because when the Union knew about her power they tried to harass her to sign a contract with them. But she refused all of them as she heard the rumours about the Union. 

The Union didn't let her go that fast and tried to entice her with money, fame, and reputation but she rejected all of those. Until they started making her families suffer from different angles. First, their family went from being a medium level in society to becoming a poor family.

Then Mia still didn't falter in that situation until the life of her family was in danger. Things change after she rejects them and their life turns from being peaceful. And until she finally gave up and that is when her brother became hospitalized.

Although all these things have no clear evidence that pointed towards the Union. She knew that behind all of these events was only because it was done by the Union. She would never believe that it was only a coincidence as the day that unfortunate things started to happen in their family was only after she rejected them with no hint of being persuaded. And her speculation strengthens when a man meets up with him in the hospital just to ask for a contract. 

At that time it was the worst day for Mia. Because her emotions flared up her innate ability activated and she started running amok. Her strong control over her emotions suddenly exploded when once again the man in front of her, hinted, a threat to her family. She didn't know what happened after that as she already lost control of her emotions and it became blurry when she recalled it. 

But she knew something happened because the Union's attitude towards her became respectful and they instead offered different contracts and Mia didn't find any hidden trap within the contract. This is why she felt a little relieved and was forced to sign the contract.

This means that Mia is not just a member of the Union but instead she was much more than just an underling of the Union. It is known that even those in the mid-level realm are obliged to sign the contract that binds them. But she instead was not included in them, she did not sign a contract that used an innate ability but instead a proper contract.

Her actions were not monitored by them and they don't have the right to make her follow them. The thing that was only included in the contract is for her to not use her power carelessly. Which means that they are scared of her which is why they let her go.

She only guessed this when she saw that the town where her brother's hospital was was off-limits and seemed to be in a wreck. It was devastated as if a great calamity had occurred. But at last, she was still relieved because her brother was alive and there was no reported death in the accident. 

Mia knew that she was just making herself believe that no one had died in the accident although the truth had already surfaced. She didn't dwell into it any further and just believed what she knew because she herself doesn't want to know about the truth. 

The only thing that made her curious about something is who stopped her. That was the only thought she had because she was the only one who could answer her questions. Unless she stopped herself or even because of her brother.

She really wanted to know about it as she still hasn't fully explored the limits of her strength. And that was the first time she didn't know where she stopped because when she was in that state she always had consciousness remaining in herself. Then she could also remember what happened but sometimes if her strength went beyond that she would sometimes forget some part of what happened. 

"Keiji, I will block them, so you can run. But I sense that there are more than 5 more enemies in the surroundings except these ten that were chasing us. And I think there is also a batch of people using long-range weapons so be ready," Mia said as they rushed forward and as Mia was preparing for the incoming arrows the enemy didn't stop either and instead completed their formation.

In the middle of the V-formation is where Keiji and Mia. All of them were holding a katana in one of their hands. Keiji was also the same, he was holding a katana in his right hand as he followed Mia. While he was doing so his mind was wandering around and thinking of some things.

Then as they were running forward suddenly a man emerged out of nowhere. He was wearing the same thing as the other assailants that were chasing Keiji and Mia in the V-formation. 

Two swords can be seen in the back of his body. He didn't look towards Keiji and Mia's direction and was just standing in front of them from afar. Mia could feel that the man in front of them was a dangerous person but she wasn't worried about being defeated by him in a fight. She was only worried about Keiji and also the incoming arrows from above.

Because their speed had decreased at the sudden appearance of the man, the arrows then started descending in their direction. And as if someone had already calculated everything, the arrows that came from above suddenly poured at them. 

Mia was already prepared for what was going to happen so she raised the katana on her hand as she jumped up as she rotated her body. Her body kept rotating like a spinning blade-blade as it travelled above. She tried to deflect all the incoming arrows but the arrow was still fast and she couldn't react in time even with her strength and speed. He slashed two arrows that were falling out from the sky into mincemeat. 

Mia could only stop two arrows but the remaining three didn't stop on their way. The remaining three arrows didn't stop and this is where Keiji showed an amazing performance.
