Chapter 297: Another Lord Wu

However, the fact had proven that Wu Dahu’s concern was nothing wrong or exaggerated. Both Lusen and Hualian seemed to be quite upset even though they tried their best to supress the sentiment.

And they exchanged their glances after they found they were being stared by Song Qinghan in confusion. It was then Lusen who came to explain, “Lord Wu, Mistress, those guys… were saved by their own master who was being called ‘Lord Wu’ as well.” (same pronunciation but surname ‘Wu’ from Wu Dahu and this master are written in different Chinese charaters)

Lord Wu? Who the heck was that guy?

Song Qinghan took a glance at Wu Dahu, and then uttered slowly, “It turns out it was a wrong guess of mine, the evil master brings evil servants.”

It was in fact obviously that the in-charge person Lusen and Hualian seek to tackle the issue was ready to punish those men, but this unkown Lord Wu just appeared from nowhere and stepped in abruptly. So in the end the event started to develop in a rotting direction.

So it could be seen from the fact that this so-called Lord Wu indeed possessed a high position within the Empire Mu, otherwise he wouldn’t have be so arrogant and domineering.

Noticing that Lusen and Hualian were still a bit sorrow standing there as if they were kicking themselves for not accomplishing the mission, Song Qinghan took the initiative to comfort, “Don’t you guys worry so much. They won’t give up the scheme so easily, especially under their master’s pampering. We will meet them again very soon.”

It should be their luck to be saved by their master this time. But if they dared to provoke another disharmony, they would surely get no good result.

Even though Wu Dahu got a good temper as his nature, he was an extremely decisive person if his bottom line was reached by others.

They would never want their arrival in the Empire Mu was a curse no matter to them or to the well-being of the entire unity. So even if they were about to tackle the issue first and reporte afterwards, Muhammad probably wouldn’t complain at all.

After figuring everything out in mind, Lusen and Hualian nodded at the same time, and turned around and left for shaping the bricks again.

The man who volunteered to help build the residence was named Xiaosi. He witnessed everything in his eyes even though he did not get involved because of the constructing stuff. Noticing that Wu Dahu came back not afar, he couldn’t help but approach and uttered respectfully, “Lord Wu, if you would love to give those guys a lesson, I can gather all our brothers to punch the other so-called Lord Wu guy in the face.”

Wu Dahu paused and took a glance at him in shock, and then he refused, “No need, if we are the first to take the measure, we will get no reason to accuse them.”

“But…” Xiaosi sounded as if he still had something to complaint about. But at the moment he noticed Wu Dahu’s decisiveness in the eyes, he shut up immediately.

He was here to deliver a helping hand instead of incurring another trouble. Therefore, since Wu Dahu did not want it, he shouldn’t force anything anyway. At large he could gathered all his brothers to guard this place and if those guys dared to provoke another disturbance, they would show no mercy!

Being fierce for them, in fact, was quite normal since they had attended so many combats in the battlefield while the ferociousness embedded in their bones were hard to eradicated.

The day passed and they finally finished producing all the rudiments of the bricks. And now what they needed to do was to wait until tomorrow so that they could use all the shaped bricks to start building.

As for where to store the bricks, of course they wouldn’t choose to place them on the ground directly. If they did so, probably the next day they would find that all their possessions were gone without a pieces of debris left.

Ultimately, they picked a secluded spot on the backslope. After moving all the bricks there, they put some branches on the pile in an attempt to cover everything up, making the outsiders unable to detect any strangeness over there.

With everything done, Wu Dahu invited Xiaosi to have lunch with them in their tents. But Xiaosi refused in an embarrassment since he was hurried to negotiate with his brothers about the defiance of the Empire Mu people, and then he left in a hurry.

Wu Dahu got some beef and mutton from the kitchen and took out the pot and other tools they brought from Qingmu. A hotpot was finally served for the family and they finally got the peace in mind together. But out of surprise, it was not a peace that lasted long as half through they were eating, an unexpected guest visited them and sounded outside the tent.

“You are the so-called Lord Wu in the legend, right?”

The man who disturbed the peace looked rather tall and strong, bulky as a giant bear. His voice was hoarse but quite stuffy as if the voice was sounded from his chest instead of his mouth.

His eyes were sharp while the whole figure was delivering an imposing temperament making others feel rather uncomfortable.

Wu Dahu frowned slightly, stood up and cupped his hands while saying respectfully, “I am Wu Dahu, do you mind me asking…”

The man responded with a smile while pointing at himself the next moment, “My surname is Wu as well, but it is the ‘Wu’ differed from yours in character. It is said that my subordinates offended you this morning and I am here to ask for your forgiveness and accept the punishment myself.”

And those vicious and fierce men who bluffed and blustered this morning were now all lowering their head like turtles behind their master. As soon as the man finished talking, they all apologized in a same voice, “Please forgive us, Lord Wu, we realized that we made something so wrong.”

Wu Dahu’s pupils sank suddenly. In his point of view, this Wu guy must be super shrewd even though he looked rather big and tall, he knew the best that this noble had to make such an apology lest the event ultimately escalated. And, if Wu Dahu accept the apology right away, it would no longer be easy for him to investigate on these men; but if he did not, he would definitely be dubbed as a petty man who showed no generousness.

By thinking of that, he answered in a deep voice, “Since the event happened today was kind of serious, it would be unreasonable if I forgive you right now so easily. But for the sake of Lord Wu and his sincere apology, I will consider mitigating the punishment on you. If you accept suffering fifty beating each on your back, I will forgive.”

Upon hearing Wu Dahu’s statement, the so-called Lord Wu suddenly laughed and responded, “Suffering fifty beating on the back? Won’t it so serious? They’ve already realized their mistake and at least no one got hurt from this event, right? I would suggest get them rethink profoundly themselves at home and go out as soon as they learn from it.”

Wu Dahu did not get much expression on face and did not intend to compromise, and he answered, “Lord Wu, that’s a wrong conception of you. Yes, ostensibly no one got hurt from this incident at all, but my husband is pregnant and he got startled and physically exhausted by getting rid of your subordinates. What if the baby inside got hurt? Isn’t it an invisible hurt?”

While they were talking, their happened to have an eye contact inadvertently, the so-called Lord Wu withdrew his smile as his eyes got sharpened, and he uttered in a deep and menacing voice, “You’re not going to respect me, right? Lord Wu?”

An embarrassing silence suddenly fell on the tent the next moment, and it was the moment that everybody in the scene knew it was the crucial point at this tense ambience. They all fixed their gazes on Wu Dahu, seemingly waiting for his answer.

However, Wu Dahu still remained calmness on his face, and he answered without hesitation, “It’s not about respect you or not, I’m just trying to negotiate with you about the event itself, or maybe Lord Wu, you can respect me by handing them to me and letting me dispose?”

Believing that Wu Dahu was being insatiable wanting to get his subordinates, the so-called Lord Wu got even more dissatisfied and he said with a sneer, “Alright, if you really wish that, I will satisfy you. But I hope next time you won’t intrude my land without permission!”

Song Qinghan was utterly shocked staring at the back of the so-called Lord Wu, at that moment he did not even know whether the man was purposely provoking another disturbance or he indeed was a territorial guy who had a strong sense of guarding his own area.

If the whole incident was considered with that logic, then Song Qinghan was to blame because he indeed got into the area of others without permission; if according to Wu Dahu’s logic on the matter, Song Qinghan also had to inform that man with a convincing statement.

Obviously Wu Dahu also thought of this point, but he did not think that this was what that guy inadvertently came up with. It should be, however, that the guy had already devised such a scheme to get them trapped, which made him so ignorant.
