Chapter 19 Toruwell
The female elf was tall and slender, with coal-black hair.

The fluffy black hair was loosely scattered on the shoulders, and a thin braid was tied at each temple.

She was wearing a green satin jacket with a loose leather vest over it, sheepskin tight trousers on her lower body, riding boots, and a colorful silk scarf around her waist, covering most of her thighs.

Her eyelashes were long, her skin was unusually pale, and her lips were chapped. She wore a necklace wound several times around her neck, the beads of which were made of carved golden birch, and the string was strong thin leather cord.

On the whole, it looks like a heroic female warrior.

Seeing that the two demon hunters did not speak, the black-haired female elf instantly raised her voice and asked loudly:
"Tell me, demon hunter, what is the purpose of your coming here?"

And following her shouting, the elf archers on the tree also raised their bows and arrows in a demonstrative manner.

Wayne glanced at Geralt. Seeing that the white wolf had a stern face, as if I was dumb, and was not about to speak, he took the initiative to take a step forward and said to the female elf:

"Ma'am, we followed our footsteps and came here to find two young people who were lost while chopping firewood."

"Their mother, who commissioned this mission, wants us to bring people back."

"Looking for someone?"

The female elf chewed on this word. A few seconds later, she grabbed a hemp rope and swung it cleanly from the branch. She walked a few steps to a distance of seven or eight meters from Wayne, looked at his pointed ears, and suddenly asked:
"You are also an elf, right? You should be very clear about the treatment of our non-human race in the Kaedwen Kingdom. Why do you help those humans to perform tasks?"

Wayne heard the words, the expression on his face did not change, he still maintained a calm tone, and said:

"Yes, ma'am, I am part-elven, and a half-elf."

"But I'm also a demon hunter. We demon hunters uphold the principle of neutrality and will not participate in the struggle between forces, nor will we favor any force."

When the female elf heard the words, a mocking smile appeared on her face, and she said indignantly:
"You can remain neutral, but those troublemakers won't let you go just because of this."

"Many of our compatriots did not resist because they held the idea of living in peace with humans, and then their bodies were all hung on trees or swallowed by wild dogs."

"Humans are selfish and despicable. They cannot tolerate any non-human race. You should know how many elves have died under their massacre."

The female elf didn't expect her words to be able to speak, and the two legendary demon hunters in front of her were emotionless.

She just wanted to control the anger in her heart. After saying this, the female elf restrained the anger on her face, and said with a tough attitude:
"My name is Toruville, and I am the leader of these elves and dwarves."

"The two people you are looking for are our prisoners."

"But I will not hand over the captives to you for no reason."

"You can either go to war with us and save them back, or you can help us with a little work, and when we trust you enough, we will let go of those two humans."

Wayne frowned immediately when he heard the words, he had some impression of the name Toruville.

It seems that this female elf will become one of the senior officers of the Scoia'tael in the future, and is the core figure of the Scoia'tael. In the original plot, there are some small stories with Geralt and Dandelion.

However, Scoia'tael was not formally established until the first Nilfgaardian invasion more than ten years later.

The current non-human race should not have established a formal resistance organization, but only exists in the form of wandering soldiers. They are forced to hide in the forest and wilderness. Now they are probably just a group of poor people who are persecuted by humans and have nowhere to go.

And according to Toruwell, does she also have commissions for them to complete?
Wayne thought for a few seconds, then turned to Geralt and asked in a low voice:

"This group of elves should also have a commission, shall we accept it?"

Geralt shrugged and said indifferently:

"It's fine for us to maintain a neutral attitude. As long as it's to kill monsters, anyone can accept the commission."

Wayne understood what Geralt meant, and turned his head to smile at Toruville.

"Ms. Toruwell, if the small job you mentioned is an entrustment to hunt monsters, we can accept this job."

"However, as demon hunters, we must receive corresponding rewards, and we cannot work for nothing."

"And if possible, I hope you can release those two young people now. Their mother has been waiting for three days. If it continues to drag on, the old man may die because of excessive grief."

Seeing the female elf showing an impatient look, Wayne quickly added:
"But please rest assured that we will keep our promises. The long-lived elves should have heard about the credit of our demon hunters."

Toluwell seemed to really need the help of the witcher very much. She squinted her eyes and stared at Wayne. After thinking about it for more than ten seconds, she said in a deep voice:
"Don't call me lady, I'm not a lady, half-elf."

"We can release people first, but you must guarantee."

"Those two young men can't reveal our location."

"Moreover, you can only send your companion back alone. You must stay with us as a hostage."

Wayne was not afraid that these non-human races would be unfavorable to him. He just wanted to find a chance to distract Geralt, so he nodded with a smile and said:
"No problem, Toruwell, my name is Wayne."

"I think you can use the safety of the village and his mother, Misha, to intimidate those two young men. They are just countrymen, so they shouldn't dare to offend fighters like you."

Upon hearing this, Toruwell looked at Wayne with somewhat surprised eyes, as if he didn't expect that he would make such a suggestion.

The female elf thought for a while, then suddenly turned her head and shouted to a male elf on the tree:
"Keep an eye on the demon hunters. I'll bring them out. If they dare to act recklessly, I'll shoot them dead."

After finishing speaking, Toruwell turned around and walked into the cave, leaving the elf archers on the tree staring at the two of them as if they were criminals.

Wayne and the elves looked at each other, a little embarrassed, he turned his head to look at Geralt, saw that the white wolf was also looking at him, and asked:
"What's the matter, Geralt?"

White Wolf warned in a slightly reproachful voice:

"You were impulsive just now, Wayne, it's not safe to stay here alone."

"We demon hunters must also be responsible for our own safety after completing the commission, and we must learn to give up when encountering dangerous tasks."

"Only when you have to go deep into a dangerous situation will you choose to take risks."

"Remember, witchers are not heroes, and never were."

Wayne knew that this was an expression of Geralt's concern for him. Although White Wolf himself often went through life and death for missions, these words were not convincing at all in his mouth.

But he really gave sincerely to his friends and relatives.

He patted Geralt on the shoulder, and said in a sincere and confident voice:
"Don't worry, Geralt, I'm sure."

"After you take those two people back to the village and deliver the entrustment, I will stay here to investigate the situation."

"Wait until tomorrow, we will meet here to discuss the commission of the elves."

Now that the matter has been settled, Geralt has nothing to do.

After waiting for about ten minutes, Toruwell used a rope to tie two humans whose heads were covered with black cloths, and walked out of the cave.

She pulled the rope, walked up to Wayne, handed the rope to Wayne's hand, and said:
"I've already made an agreement with them. After you go back, tell them that the two of them were chased by wolves and hid in the trees for three days."

"If they dare to reveal our whereabouts, I will lead people to their villages and kill them."

Wayne glanced at the two trembling people whose heads were covered, nodded, and then handed the rope to the white wolf, saying:
"Take them back before it's dark."

"It's best to wait until the village is near their hoods before taking them off."

"This is not only for the safety of these non-human races, but also to protect the village."
