Chapter 4
"Meimei, why did you come back with your luggage?"

Seeing her daughter carrying her luggage back to her natal home, Xiang Chunlan had a bad feeling, standing in front of the door, her eyes moved back and forth between Su Mei and the suitcase.

"You old woman, you are always surprised!" Su Dacheng scolded, got up from the sofa and walked over, saw the suitcase in Su Mei's hand, and asked, "Did you quarrel with Lin Zuo?"

Su Mei kicked off her shoes while pulling on her slippers, and said calmly, "We're divorced."

For 15 years, even if there were quarrels between husband and wife, they kept it hidden from their parents, lest they worry about it. Now when they heard that their daughter was divorced, Xiang Chunlan was quite surprised. "Why? How can you leave if you are living a good life?"

"It's a long story." Su Mei doesn't want to be a bitter wife, and it's not honorable to get a divorce because her husband has an affair.

"You old woman, you've lived most of your life, and you still haven't changed your temper at all!"

Su Dacheng pulled his wife away to make way for his daughter.

"What are you doing at the door, let Meimei in, and speak slowly if you have something to say."

Su Mei put the luggage aside, sat down on the sofa, and breathed a sigh of relief, "Mom, do you have any leftovers at home? I'm hungry."

Su Mei couldn't remember whether she had eaten in the morning, because it was past eight o'clock when she "woke up". She was wearing an apron and plastic gloves, and she was still holding a rag in her hand. She was leaning on the sofa, as if she had just caught up on her sleep .

Seeing the familiar environment and furniture in front of her, she didn't recover for a long time...

"You child, you have such a big heart, you can still eat even if you are divorced!"

Xiang Chunlan grumbled angrily, and didn't say whether there was any leftover food at home, and she didn't mean to cook something for her daughter.

"When the child is hungry, he will cook something to eat. How can there be so much nonsense!" Su Dacheng roared displeased.

Xiang Chunlan snorted dissatisfiedly before walking into the kitchen.

Su Mei is clear about the characters of her parents, they have been noisy all their lives, but their feelings are deep.

Leaning his head back on the sofa, he rubbed his face tiredly, and sighed again.

"Meimei, your mother has such a temper, don't take it to heart." Su Dacheng also sat down on the sofa.

"It's okay, I'm used to it." Su Mei put her hands around her hair and smiled at her father.

The long hair was casually tied up in a ball at the back of the head, looking a little messy, and the light blue T-shirt had faded, almost gray.

The jeans on her body are still straight, the style from two years ago. There is almost no makeup on her face, and even her lips are a natural light pink.

Although the son-in-law's salary is high and his daughter's life is good, Su Dacheng is not confused and knows that a woman who does not earn money has no status in the family, and his son and daughter-in-law can hear it when they quarrel.

Sighing distressedly, Su Dacheng patted his legs and said, "When you quit your job and said you wanted to take care of Tingting at home to go to school, Dad didn't agree."

A sigh, a word, full of a father's understanding and helplessness.

Although Su Dacheng didn't ask his daughter why he divorced, he knew it clearly in his heart.

Su Mei smiled, "Dad, how long has it been, and I still mention this."

Su Dacheng sighed again, "If you had a job now, you wouldn't be at this point."

Su Mei lowered her eyes, and the arc of her lips seemed far-fetched.

"There are no leftovers at home. I cooked a bowl of noodles, let's eat." Xiang Chunlan came out of the kitchen with a bowl of noodles and placed them on the dining table behind Su Mei.
