Cyberpunk 2074: Shadows of the Past

Chapter 97: Movement 3: March

Chapter 97 The Third Movement: March (Ⅲ)

Countless colorful circles floated in front of my eyes, no matter how I tried to drive them away, it would be of no avail.

He stretched out his hand in confusion, but he only grasped a piece of black nothingness that had turned into a mosaic.

He raised his head and looked around.

One second it was still an endless night, and the next second it shattered into colorful beams of light.

Light and black are intertwined, separated and repeated in endless cycles, like couples in love dancing a tango dance where you come and go.

Holding his head that seemed to be splitting, he knelt down on the ground, his face distorted out of shape due to the pain.

"Boros?"

"Boros!"

"Boros!"

Vaguely, there were countless voices, which penetrated through layers of barriers and turned into countless sharp needles, piercing deeply in every fold of his cerebral cortex.

"stop fighting!"

He couldn't bear to roar at those invisible figures.

Limbs waving in confusion.

Confused, his index finger touched a familiar yet unfamiliar object.

Following his muscle memory, he subconsciously buckled down hard.

In the next second, the fog cleared away, and the interlaced light and black turned into pure light.

The thick rain curtain wrapped the whole city tightly, making it hard to breathe.

On the street, the bustling pedestrians in the past have all disappeared, leaving only the high walls woven by wind and rain standing on the ground, like tombstones mourning the death.

A black and red steel beast roared, using bright lights as sharp teeth and claws, tearing apart the misty rainy night and cutting off countless raindrops falling from the sky.

The corpse was crushed into traceless crumbs, and someone in the car was singing loudly.

"Et si tu n'existais pas,

(French: if you never existed)
Dis-moi comment j'existerais.
(tell me how I shall exist)
"

The clear and ethereal female voice twirled in the small space, echoing the long aftermath enough to cleanse the soul.

"What song?" V sat on the co-pilot, leaning on the leather headrest, closed his eyes, and asked softly.

The body and mind that had been tense all day were relaxed under the beautiful singing.

As the music draws to a close, the singing also ends slowly.

"The French song "If You Didn't Exist," Jill replied, while holding the steering wheel, firmly driving the ferocious steel monster under the seat, "sad and romantic, isn't it?"

"You must have been very popular in college..." V opened his eyes and smiled at Jill, "If I liked women, I must have fallen in love with you by now..."

"Usually speaking, it must be followed by a 'but' that indicates a turning point."

We were getting closer to our destination, and through the thick rain and fog that covered our vision, we could faintly see blurred bright spots made up of scattered lights.

"Ha, you found out," V chatted with Jill casually.

Even with the bottomless drinking capacity she honed, she was a little bit drunk tonight.

"I'm sorry, I said I'd take you home, but I asked you to drive me instead."

"The car is good, solid and reliable, full of power." Jill patted the leather steering wheel, and sincerely praised, without taking this matter to heart, "It's also fate, we live across the street... ..."

"I guess your next sentence must be, 'Would you like to come to my house for a while'..." V also mocked with a teasing smile.

"Hmph, I guessed wrong, what I wanted to say was 'my cat can talk, do you want to see it'..." Jill shrugged his shoulders and slowly slowed down the speed of the car.

"Do you have a cat?" V raised his eyebrows, "Now I'm really interested... In Night City... those kittens and puppies are almost extinct..."

"He's the only treasure I brought from the past..." Jill chuckled lightly, her tone quite proud.

"That's great..." V murmured, lowering his eyes.

"Remember to come to the store often in the future, V." Jill glanced at her and said something in a low voice.

"it is good."

"We're about to arrive. Let's stop by the side of the road. I'll get off here. You should be almost sober..."

"Almost forgot, we haven't exchanged contact information yet..." V collected his emotions, took out his mobile phone, and turned into an excited look again.

Jill also took out her mobile phone and quickly exchanged contact information with V.

"There is an umbrella next to the driver's seat, come to my house to play next time?" V fiddled with some messy hair, and asked softly, looking out of the car window with erratic eyes.

"Did you invite me this time?" With a teasing tone in her tone, Jill followed V's eyes to explore the past.

The sound of the explosion pierced through the dense layers of rain and fog, blooming into a bright orange flower in front of them.

"I*! Get down!"

Even though he was a little drunk, V's mind was still flexible, and he immediately reacted, pulled Jill down, and hid beside the car seat.

"what happened?"

The body as tall as an iron tower stood tall, with ragged clothes, roaring like thunder against the toppled sea above his head.

Feng and Yu seemed to be frightened by the furious man, and they fled in all directions.

Then the invisible dense city walls collapsed one after another, and his vision was no longer obstructed.

The man looked around, and the originally safe and cozy hut had turned into a dilapidated ruin.

The turbulent fire and smoke are against the wind and rain, spreading towards the sky little by little.

"In the end what happened!"

He roared again.

Feng Yu was so anxious that he had no way out, turned around and roared towards him again.

Fire and smoke extinguished in this storm that came and went.

But the flames in his heart did not.

"Boros!!!"

A voice came from the distant sky.

Someone is falling from the sky and is drinking his name in anger.

Boros was stunned for a second, and when he realized it, he only had time to subconsciously raise his hand to block the oncoming sharp flash.

Then the arm fell to the ground, bleeding profusely.

"What happened?" he asked again.

The sharp sword light that pierced the night and the rain did not answer him, but rushed towards him again.

"***!answer me!"

He stretched out his hand, and the indestructible mantis blade stretched out like an arm, blocking the sword shadow that was as fast as a peregrine falcon as if foreseeing the future.

The ghostly figure was forced to stop, revealing a head of wet red hair.

"Rottweiler? What are you doing? Where are the others?" He exclaimed, feeling more and more confused.

"Boros, look at your feet."

Rottweiler tightly held the sharp sword in his hand, and roared furiously from the depths of his soul, his eyes were burning with scarlet flames.

Boros lowered his head in a daze.

Broken limbs piled up at his feet like a blood-colored flower.

"Bit?"

He opened his mouth in disbelief and fell to his knees on the ground.

The icy rain and blood mixed together and surrounded him.

Once again, a splitting headache swept over me.

Still uncomfortable, try my best to catch up a little
