Fahai travels through Tang Sanzang

Chapter 433 Nianhua 1 Smile; Anyone who sees the Buddha's heart will become a Buddha

Chapter 433 Nianhua and smile; anyone who sees the Buddha's heart will become a Buddha
Anuo and Jiaye never returned.

Naturally, their small thoughts cannot be deceived by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and they said in their hearts: What two cunning people.

There was a Buddha about to go out to report, but Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva stood up first, and saw him holding willow branches in his hands, smiling slightly, and said to Sanzang, "Sanzang, in your previous life, you were the second disciple of my Buddha Tathagata." Jin Chanzi, because you couldn’t understand the meaning of the Buddha holding flowers and smiling, you contradicted the Buddha in front of the monks in the main hall, and then fled to Lingshan. The true spirit, reincarnated in the Eastern Land."

Guanyin Bodhisattva paused for a moment, then smiled at Fahai, "Now after going through ninety-nine and eighty-one hardships, I finally obtained the scriptures, and I'm glad to congratulate you as the fruit."

Fahai clasped his hands together and said, "Amitabha."

"I heard that you just came out of the land of Tang Dynasty, and your spirit revived, but I don't know if you are Jin Chanzi, or Tang Sanzang?"

The monks in the hall heard the Bodhisattva's question, and then realized that the Bodhisattva had already started debating scriptures with Master Sanzang.

It's just that Guanyin master, you are the famous Gaode I taught, how can you do so without effort?
Ask him some tricky questions!

This question is so simple that it is somewhat perfunctory.

Sure enough, the rumors were true, Master Guanyin had always been kind to Tripitaka. They actually missed Manjushri Bodhisattva who was sent to reincarnation for a while.

If Manjusri Bodhisattva is in the hall at this moment, there must be a good show to watch.

What the monks thought was another matter, and even so, they wanted to hear how Sanzang would deal with it.

"Jin Chanzi is me, Xuanzang is me, and Tang Sanzang who learned the scriptures is also me." Of course, Fa Hai also said something in his heart: "Fa Hai is also me, I am me."

This kind of philosophical question asking "Who am I?" is hardly a challenge for Fa Hai. If he doesn't even think about this question clearly now, he won't be able to come to Lingshan.

If he put it more bluntly, he even had a sentence to say: I am the one who becomes a Buddha, I am the one who becomes a demon, and I am an ordinary monk in the Three Realms.

"Since it's all you." Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva's question is obviously not that simple, otherwise she is not only responsible for this debate, but also disrespectful to Master Tripitaka, so she has another question: "So now you Have you realized the meaning of the Buddha's 'smile with flowers'?"

All the monks were shocked!

Bodhisattva is worthy of being a Bodhisattva!
It was we who wrongly blamed you just now.

In fact, many monks present had some predictions, after all, the Bodhisattva still mentioned this matter in the foreword
But if you really talk about the meaning of the Buddha's "picking flowers and smiling", all the monks are one head and two big, let alone Jin Chanzi wants to understand, there are quite a few monks who were present together back then. They don't understand either.

He didn't even dare to meet the Buddha's eyes.

Only Maha Kasyapa and the Buddha looked at each other, and then smiled knowingly.

Then the Buddha said that Mahakasyapa had become enlightened.

Jin Chanzi was not convinced.

Why do you say he has enlightened?

Let him say one, two, three.

But Mahakassapa just laughed and said nothing.

Jin Chanzi said that he was pretending to understand and was reprimanded by the Buddha, saying that he disturbed the Buddhist hall. In a rage, Jin Chanzi contradicted the Buddha a few words, then flung his robes and ran out of Lingshan. Still captured by Guanyin Bodhisattva
However, since the golden cicada caused the commotion, the monks in Lingshan seldom mentioned this matter of "picking flowers and laughing". After all, they really don't understand it.

It's cloudy and foggy, and I don't know why.

Some monks even agreed with Jin Chanzi's words, thinking that Mahakassapa was echoing the Buddha, and smiled like the Buddha, but he himself didn't understand anything.

At this moment, when they heard the Bodhisattva's old story being brought up again, even though they were asking Master Tripitaka, most of the monks also felt guilty, for fear that the Buddha would use the topic again and cause another twists and turns.

Fa Hai was silent for a while.

He has only heard about this matter, and he really doesn't know what the specific situation is.

And this question from the Bodhisattva made him suddenly understand one thing, that is, although he is Tang Sanzang, he does not seem to be a golden cicada.
As for the recovery of Jin Chanzi's true spirit, it has never happened before. Because he is Fa Hai, he has no memory of Jin Chanzi.

Thinking of this, Fa Hai frowned slightly, obviously lost in thought.

Seeing this, all the monks cast their gazes at the Bodhisattva, "As expected of a Bodhisattva", and hit the nail on the head with one blow. Some even had unsteady thoughts, and they were still praying silently in their hearts, hoping that the Tripitaka would not be able to answer. It can come to an end here, and everyone can be relieved.

But at this moment——

But seeing slowly raising his head, he looked at the Bodhisattva, his brows gradually relaxed, his hand was also in the shape of a flower, and then a slight smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.

"Not quite right!"

Some monks saw the difference, and Puxian Bodhisattva next to Guanyin Bodhisattva suddenly whispered: "This is not the Buddha's 'smiling with flowers' in the past."

All the monks watched carefully after hearing the words, suddenly felt strange
Then all the monks looked at Guanyin Bodhisattva again, and they felt nothing strange again.

Because Master Sanzang's gesture of picking up a flower at this moment is learned from a bodhisattva picking up a willow branch. It is naturally different from when the Buddha picked up a golden bala flower back then.

"Amitabha."

When Guanyin Bodhisattva saw it, he put away the willow branches, smiled at Sanzang, and said, "Sanzang, I didn't expect that you and this poor monk really have a heart-to-heart connection."

Bodhisattva Shicai picked up a branch, and Fa Hai saw the bodhisattva's compassion and love for all living beings in the world, and the Bodhisattva's determination to save all living beings.

So I smiled knowingly.

Samantabhadra Bodhisattva said in a low voice, "That's right, the Buddha's smile back then was serene, peaceful, and indifferent. But the smiles of Master Shicai Guanyin and Sanzang are all compassionate."

Although the words of Puxian Bodhisattva and Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva were not loud, the monks in the main hall heard clearly and were in a complicated mood for a while, not knowing whether they were really embarrassing Tripitaka.

Then there was a great day when the Tathagata came to see the excitement and asked curiously: "When the Buddha picked up the flowers, the poor monk had already retreated in Futu Mountain, but he had never seen it. Sanzang, the Bodhisattva asked you if you have understood it. Back then, the Buddha smiled when he picked up the flowers. It does not mean to ask if you understand Bodhisattva's twisting of branches."

After all, Da Ri Tathagata looked at the Buddha again: "Buddha, I wonder if it is possible to reproduce the 'Nianhua Yixiao', so that the poor monk can also experience it?"

Dainichi Tathagata deserves to be the one who competed with Duobao Tathagata for the Lord of Lingshan. Even the two Buddhas, Maitreya and Medicine Master, always gave way to the Tathagata Buddha.

But he was less polite.

What made Da Ri Tathagata so confident was that he had successfully invited the Peacock Daming King Bodhisattva to join Tantric Buddhism not long ago. With the two of them working together, there are really few people in this spiritual mountain who can fight.

When the Buddha looked at the Great Sun Tathagata, the aura like a mountain immediately traversed the past.

But the opponent did not show any weakness, and a round of red sun ignited raging flames. Boom, boom, boom!
Under the confrontation of the momentum, some monks with shallow foundations could not bear it a little bit, and they all looked pale and staggered. They were very embarrassed.

Instead, Master Sanzang was left alone.

Seeing this situation, the great sage thought to himself: This Lingshan is probably not a Buddhist and pure place, and it is quite lively.

Several disciples also like to join in the fun. Seeing the two Buddhas facing each other now, it seems that a conflict is about to start, and they are still a little excited deep in their hearts. After all, such a scene is not something you just want to see.

"Amitabha."

The great venerable Maha Kassapa chanted the Buddha's name, and slowly got up: "My Buddha has the eyes of the righteous Dharma, the wonderful mind of Nirvana, the reality without appearance, the subtle method, and the words. The first truth of becoming a Buddha is transmitted to poor monks."

"The poor monk got this method all because of a smile back then."

After he finished saying these words, regardless of the confrontation between the Tathagata Buddha and the Great Sun Tathagata, he took out the golden sala flower from that year, and looked at Sanzang as if he was smiling at it, "Golden cicada, what's the explanation?"

The Great Venerable Maha Kassapa asked Tripitaka a question, and the Buddha and the Great Sun Tathagata both withdrew their momentum.

But Peacock Daming King Bodhisattva transmitted voice to Da Ri Tathagata: "Why are you doing this? You are too reckless."

Da Ri Tathagata returned the voice and said: "I wanted to find a reason to anger the Buddha Tathagata, so that I could leave here. Unexpectedly, he can sit still."

Upon hearing this, Peacock Daming King Bodhisattva asked curiously: "Why do fellow Taoists leave the event first?"

Da Ri Tathagata: "Buddha said: Don't say it, you will see the truth later, King Ming should be mentally prepared, don't blame the poor monk for not reminding in advance."

Dainichi Tathagata has sharp eyes and ears after all. When he first got out of trouble, he heard Sun Wukong chanting sutras before he didn't realize it. It was a moment of negligence. He didn't think of it until the Bodhisattva and Tripitaka asked and answered.

Moreover, when their masters and apprentices left Lingshan and sent the scriptures to Datang, the Bodhisattva even said that when they returned to Lingshan, they would test the "scriptures" homework of the great sage.

Fahai looked over, but didn't answer, just asked: "Since the Buddha taught that ordinary people become Buddhas, why hasn't the Venerable Buddha become a Buddha yet?"

After hearing this, all the monks couldn't help looking at Mahakassapa, and said in their hearts: Master Sanzang's words are reasonable. Back then, he showed his face and smiled, and found out the Buddha's meaning of "smiling with a flower", and everyone asked him The reason is only to say that there is a heart-to-heart connection, which can only be understood, but cannot be expressed in words.
But why has it been almost 1000 years? Kassapa is still a great venerable, and he still has not become a Buddha?
Of course, there is more than one Kasyapa in Lingshan, and there is also Kasyapa Buddha among the seven Buddhas in the past. He is also watching the debate between Mahakassapa and Master Sanzang with great interest at the moment.

Mahakasyapa was not angry when he heard Jin Chanzi's words, and said with a smile: "I have acquired the Dharma and practiced it, and it may not necessarily succeed."

When Fahai heard this, he imitated him and smiled, "It's solved."

Monks:? ?

Mahakassapa was also taken aback for a moment, a little unclear about the way of this Tripitaka, how did he solve it?
Then when he and Sanzang looked at each other, especially when he saw Sanzang's eyes, he couldn't help but smile at each other. It's as if he could understand the Buddha's mind when he saw the Buddha picking up flowers back then. Now he also understands the heart of Sanzang, it can be said that he understands the heart, and his smile is self-defeating.

When all the monks recalled the confrontation between the two of them, it was Dainichi Tathagata who asked, "Sanzang, what's the explanation?"

Fahai clasped his palms together: "If I hear it, I have a tacit understanding, and the little monk has already understood it."

"The poor monk doesn't believe it." It was Kasyapa Buddha, one of the past seven Buddhas, who spoke.

"Everyone who sees the Buddha's heart will become a Buddha. However, those who become a Buddha will have a self-realized state of mind, which is a formless nirvana. However, its wonderful state cannot be described in words. Therefore, those who have a Buddha's heart can see it naturally. Enlightenment. The so-called laughing while holding a flower is that Kasyapa saw the Buddha's heart." Fa Hai said to Kasyapa Buddha, "I don't know Kassapa Buddha, do you think so?"

Kassapa nodded after hearing this, put his palms together, closed his eyes, and said nothing more.

Apparently he agreed with Master Tripitaka's words.

At this time, Fahai looked at Mahakassapa, and said after paying respects: "The reason why your lord saw the Buddha but failed to become a Buddha must be that he thought that the Buddha's heart was not as good as his original heart. The little monk has also broken the relics of becoming a Buddha. Being an ordinary monk is just different from the venerable’s self-cultivation of purity and self-cultivation, while the minor monk walks in the world of mortals, subduing demons and demons, cutting karma and protecting life.”

"I don't know the Venerable, but do you have any advice?"

According to Sanzang, he has nothing to refute. Maybe he can make some articles on "killing karma and protecting students", but this is not his style.

What's more, when Sanzang made the "smile with flowers", Maha Kassapa also saw the "Buddha heart" that belongs to Sanzang.

Just as Sanzang said just now: Seeing the Buddha's mind does not become a Buddha, but he is simply unwilling to abandon his original mind.

What's more, those who can become a Buddha don't have such a big obsessive pursuit of whether they become a Buddha or not. They follow their original intentions and do what they want.

Recite the scriptures when you should recite the scriptures, and realize yourself when you should be enlightened
It's just that Sanzang's sentence "the venerable's pure and ascetic practice of self-cultivation alone" made him quite concerned.

Mahakassapa frowned slightly, he had indeed not been out of Lingshan for a long time since he had entered the Lingshan Mountain.

I also thought of the time when the Buddha once said, "There are no words in this method of mind, and it is passed on from heart to heart." Once you understand it, you can pass on the Heart Sutra.”

Not to mention the monks present, even the Buddha did not expect Mahakassapa's words.

Fa Hai on the side was even more dazed, but thinking of the meeting between the two Buddha hearts when he "twirled a flower and smiled" just now, Fa Hai could also understand the reason why the other party made this decision.

The Buddha smiled on the golden lotus and said, "The Heart Sutra has been transmitted to you, you can handle it yourself."

"Amitabha."

Mahakassapa clasped his hands together, and after reciting the Buddha's name, golden light bloomed on his body, and he said to Sanzang, "Sanzang, can you open your heart?"

Fa Hai also clasped his hands together, not defending against him.

The two strands of golden light interacted continuously, and all kinds of Sanskrit music sounded above the Mahavira Hall, and I saw golden lotuses blooming around the two, especially between Tang Sanzang's chest and abdomen, there were many relic fragments again, following Mahaka Ye's preaching, the relic fragments are slowly recombining.

When the monks saw it, they all sighed
I can't help but think of the scene where Sanzang directly shattered the already formed imaginary relic when he surpassed Duzishou.

If the two sides exchange, they ask themselves that it is difficult to achieve this step.
