X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 75: Just Who Are You?!

In this mountain range of where their village was placed somewhere in the middle, many beasts could be found. But in all those beasts, three of them were considered the strongest and those three had their own territory.

One of the three strongest beasts was naturally his first tamed beast, Bantay! Though Bantay was the strongest among the three in the past and the sole ruler across the land, when he was injured by his current master five years ago, his strength went down to the point that he was now the weakest among the current three strongest beasts.

His territory was also the smallest among the three and his only subordinates were the Tree-Merger Apes who remained loyal to him after his downfall.

Jim of course knew about the existence of these three but Jim only met Bantay before, the Gorilla King. About the other two strongest beasts, Jim really had no idea where they were. All he knew was that they were a strong A-rank beast.

The three strongest beasts were namely, the Gorilla King, the Bear King, and the Mountain Minotaur. The current strongest among these three was the Mountain Minotaur.

But now that Jim looked at the beast before him, Jim wondered if it was one of the three strongest beasts in that mountain range, Bear King. He could tell that though it was asleep, its strength was no lower than Bantay before he faced him last time.

Now that Jim had thought about it now, he also wondered if his tamed beast Bantay was one of the three strongest beasts in this mountain range. All he'd learned was he fought the apes of which it was actually the Tree-Merger Apes. He forgot to ask if this Bantay was the Gorilla King. It was only a hunch in him but seeing the Tree-Merger Apes, there was a good chance that Bantay was the Gorilla King.

But if it really was the case, why was it that the other party was so weak? Jim thought before that even A-rank Hunters would have a hard time escaping from the Gorilla King but why was it that he could escape away from it many times even before when he still yet to obtain the power of one of the Four Greatest Hunters?

Was his illusion really that great or this beast was simply weak?

This doubt prevented him to consider Bantay as one of the three strongest beasts but nevertheless, he planned to ask the other party later on.

After pondering for a good while, Jim jumped from the tree he was standing on. But who would have thought that this action would awaken the bear!

It really was careless of him!

Roar!!!!!

Jim's lips twitched wildly. He was still thinking that his consciousness was still inside his Blood Minion making him complacent about not getting detected by the bear.

"Human kid, how courageous of you entering my den alone!" The bear roared but at the same time, he was astonished to see a brat who barely had a World Energy, entering his Den. Even once in his lifetime, never he encounter such a scene.

What even worse was that there was an urge in him to kill the brat already as he felt a bad premonition if he did not.

"I..." Jim didn't know what to say. Nevertheless, he wasn't worrying over anything. If worse come to worse, he could just exchange position with his Blood Minion. "Good morning! How are you?" Jim could only greet the other party.

For a moment, the bear was speechless. His face got darkened not knowing how to respond. A human brat facing him and still not scared even a little bit? Just when did the world go insane?

"Who are you?" The bear asked calmly. His eyes narrowed trying to peer the identity of this brat in front of him. He didn't get careless and lower his guard. He was afraid that this brat was someone in disguise to make him lose his temperament and end up lowering his guard.

So even if the urge in him about killing the brat was going stronger, he tried to suppress his feelings to the hardest.

Jim on the other hand was surprised. He already had expected that this beast would go on rampage and rush onto him for slaughter. But who would have thought that the beast would try to guard himself against him!

That really was a temperament befitting to a king!

Is this really the Bear King? Jim asked to himself. If it really was, then wouldn't it be a huge gain for him?

The more Jim guess about the identity of the beast in front of him the more curious and excited he became. He then stared at the other party in all seriousness as he said, "Become my tamed beast!"

Jim felt that his invitation was something that needed to be fought for. He could tell how lucky was the beast in front of him to be invited as a tamed beast by him personally.

But the other party felt the complete opposite. He even felt that this brat was mocking him! After all, he was the king of this part of the forest! A human brat who barely had a World Energy wanted him to become his tamed beast? The world must really have gone insane if it happened!

Nevertheless, as angry as he was, he didn't let his temperament be shaken. He could tell how provocative this person really was. Instead, he asked in return, "Why should I?"

Jim smiled hearing such a question. "Simply because I am strong!" That was the first line Jim had said but later he added right away, "It's a good opportunity for you to become my tamed beast!"

The bear wanted to cough up blood! He was having a hard time controlling his distorted temperament! What was with this kid? The bear could tell that the other party wasn't lying and he really meant those words?

Did this kid really think that he was that capable? But thinking about it now, it was suspicious as well how did this kid manage to get into his very den without alarming his minions guarding all over the surrounding woods. Was that really a coincidence? No, it was something that this brat had done!

From that moment, the bear didn't look down on this brat. He even let his guard up to the highest. This brat in front of him really was not simple as he seemed!

"How about this, I will submit to you if you manage to pick this herb." The bear pointed out the herb he was guarding.

Jim looked at it and felt the rich World Energy coming from the herb. He could even hear it as if flowing water.

"I will only pick the herb?" Jim was doubtful. "Isn't it very easy?"

"Yes." The bear only said that one word and didn't reply any more as he smiled instead.

Of course, Jim knew that something was amiss. He was the one who had an incredible hearing ability after all. He could hear the heart of the bear beating in cunningness and excitement blended together. As if a sly fox that couldn't wait to catch its prey already.

Jim only smiled.

He then walked and came closer to the herb, intending to pick it up leisurely. The bear got more excited and his smile grew wider the closer Jim get into him. He could only shout in his mind, "Come more closer! More closer!"

It was obvious to say that this bear was up to something but Jim only appeared that as if he didn't notice it.

When Jim was finally just in front of the herb above the boulder not taller than him, he was about to pick it up when suddenly,

"Brat you will regret the fact that you are even born in this world! But don't worry, you must be happy that you will serve as lunch for this Bear King!" The bear roared as he bared his fang against Jim trying to taste the other party's flesh.

"Oh?" Jim only smiled at him making the bear halt his movements.

But it didn't just end in there, the bear saw that from the brat's body, several beads of blood were coming out. It then floated in the midair around him as the bear finally felt that something really was dangerous.

Not only that, he didn't feel this before but now that this brat was making a move, the bear finally felt the incredible amount of Spiritual Energy suppressing him to do any action.

The bear stepped backward as he gazed intently at the brat in front of him. But what he saw made him tremble in fear.

How was this possible? The bear couldn't believe what he was seeing. The many beads of blood that were floating around the other party grew bigger and bigger and were morphing themselves into a living being. It was all a beast! And from the looks of it, the bear could tell that it was actually a Tree-Merger Apes!

Just how many of them were there? 20? 30? 40? The bear counted as he could tell that those beasts were under the control of this brat in front of him. He also saw some of the beads of blood turned into a little red bird that immediately flew away after morphing themselves. He just didn't include them in a count since he thought that it was just an insignificant being.

But what made him even more astonished was that he could tell the incredible amount of Life Energy to each of those Tree-Merger Apes that the other party had. Its Life Energy didn't even pale in comparison to his own, an A-rank beast!

But the Bear King, however, felt something different. The hatred and anger in him were growing stronger. As if despising him wasn't enough and only by killing the other party would these feelings be quenched.

"Just who are you?!" The bear could only ask about it as he felt a conflicting feeling. He could see that he was no match against the other party but the urge in him to kill the other party was couldn't just go away.
