X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 67: The Mysterious Young Boy (1)

"Oh..." After a long while, Jim finally woke up. But the first thing he heard from his mom was that Sheiyn had already left. He was a bit disappointed though. He didn't even have a chance to bid farewell from her.

"I didn't even know how old she is... sigh."

There were still so many things that he wanted to ask from Sheiyn but because the other party was talking with his mom endlessly, he never had a chance to ask any question. Besides, he'd just took away her wolf, asking such questions was a bit embarrassing for him.

So even though he had given a chance, it was more likely to happen that he wouldn't be able to ask anything at all since he could feel the coldness of the other party towards him and he would just end up swallowing his words.

"Sigh, maybe next time!" Jim lamented the fact that he incurred her bad side instead of the good side. But still, never he thought that the next time he was hoping for was already next to impossible.

Meanwhile, not too far away from the woods where Jim and Sheiyn first met each other...

"This is way too boring!"

Somewhere deep inside that woods, a dungeon had just appeared. And it seemed that this dungeon was actually a D-rank dungeon, a grey one at that. And from the size of it, it appeared that it was actually a level 2 dungeon, a dungeon with a high probability that the numbers of the beast inside were ranging from 101 to 1,000.

Clearing this kind of dungeon singlehandedly was extremely difficult for D-rank Hunters. However, a mysterious young boy who looked like a cold-blooded person was found inside. There were four summoned Spirits accompanying him and they were massacring several hundreds of snake-type beasts inside that dungeon. Of course, all of those Otherworldly Monster Beasts were only silver-horned ones.

The dungeon was inside a cave. And only a little light from the blue crystals around the cave was illuminating the place. But this young boy's Salamander could make a fire that illuminated the entire area as if it was a day inside.

"Is this what it feels to be a C-rank Hunter?" The mysterious young boy muttered to himself.

Sylph, Nymph, Gnome, and Salamander, the mysterious young boy had all of these four main Elemental Spirits surrounding him. As if a loyal dog who would do their everything to protect their Master.

"Just where the hell is the boss here!?" The boy asked with his cold voice trying to find the boss chamber. "If I can't find a way, then I will just make my own...

"Gnome!"

There were so many paths inside the cave and some of it seemed to lead to a trap, but it wasn't even a little problem for his Gnome. It snapped its finger and the path towards the boss chamber was opened.

Faster than the wind, he instantly reached his distance to the boss chamber with a distance of about a hundred meters away from him.

"Woah! Is this the boss?!" The young boy was surprised. It was already within his expectations but he still couldn't help but be astonished.

A giant serpent with thick light red scales appeared to be the dungeon boss. It was a Red Python! A 20 meters long python. And it was known for its extremely hard defense and dangerous poison. However, it seemed like it was just a child and couldn't even be compared to the real Red Python. Fortunately, it was a golden-horned beast.

"Sigh. Only a baby?! Well, its horn is pretty good though." The young boy was disappointed then again but there was nothing else he could do with it. He just satisfied himself with the golden horn he could get.

Seeing the intruder, the Red Python immediately bared its fang against him while the young boy was just smiling and just waiting for the attack of the python.

Somewhere in the sky...

"Lolo[1], Do you think Mama and my two Kuyas[2] have missed me?"

A 5 years old girl with deep black hair had her eyes resonating to the color of the sun. She was wearing a yellow dress, and was seated on the top of a certain beast that appeared to be a massive eagle. But the eagle had four limbs of a lion on it and one could immediately tell that it was actually a Griffin!

Its wings flapped furiously and the wind was as if giving way on its path and didn't dare to block them. It was even as if the wind was pushing them to the limits of speed.

"Of course sweetie. They definitely have missed you." The old man with her who was standing just behind her responded as a slight smile appeared on his lips.

"Really? Really?" The young girl was beyond happy. Her excitement was expressed all over her face.

This young girl seemed to be careless and lively but the old man before her who barely smile and always wearing a serious-looking face seemed to be always on guard as if he was prepared for any kind of sudden attack possible.

Since they were already nearing their destination and it was already on sight, he commanded the Griffin to slow down. And also, he noticed as well something strange in the forest below so he took a moment of look at it.

In that place, he saw a D-rank dungeon and it was releasing an abnormal kind of energy. He narrowed his eyes as realization dawned upon him.

"Lolo, why is it that there's a sudden fluctuation of World Energy over there?" The girl also noticed about it as she asked curiously and pointed her forefinger to the forest below. She of course saw the dungeon as well but she didn't put so much attention on it. As if she already saw something like that many times already.

But what piqued her interest was that the dungeon was a kind of strange and releasing a somewhat different kind of World Energy. It was a kind of hostile. The girl noticed this and wanted to know what was going on. She was a bit familiar with it after all.

The old man only smiled a bit and let the Griffin flew towards their destination. "It's fine! You will meet 'him' soon enough."

Somewhere on the other part of the sky...

"What? Her trash son is the one who snatched away my wolf?"

Don was shocked when he found out from his daughter that it was not the second son of Charley who took away his wolf but instead, it was her first son!

"Impossible! How could he?!.." He couldn't believe what he just heard, a Hunter who barely became an 'F-rank' tamed his beloved wolf? Was that a prank?

And he even got more shocked when he heard from his daughter that she could also feel a little amount of World Energy from Charley's first son.

"Those family really is weird! Especially 'that' lunatic." Don was of course referring to Charley's second son who he only set his eyes on.

Back in the Dungeon deep inside the forest...

Sigh.

"Too disappointing!"

The head of the Red Python was already been cut down and its body was burned into ashes. The 'young boy' was holding a crystal that appeared to be the beast core of the Red Python. Of course, he was holding its golden horn as well. After all, the golden horn was still connected to its head.

"Maybe this is enough gift to my Kuya, right? Sylph?"

"Hmph! You call this trash a gift? How cheap of you!"

The Sylph and the other Spirits except the Salamander had left right away after they finished the tasks given to them by the young boy while Sylph said with her disappointed voice before leaving, "Don't call us ever again just to let us handle some worms!"

Their body then glowed with white light and then faded right away.

The scene where the Red Phyton and the young boy fought was not in a mess at all. It was as if the Red Python died within a single hit and without having a chance to run for its life.

"Lil Boy, can I burn down everything in here?!" Asked by the Salamander with its frightening voice. Its voice was like that of an adult man but it had a small body as small as a puppy. Its whole body was colored in blood red and the end of its tail was on fire. Its eyes were undoubtedly sharp that seemed to always want for destruction.

The boy stared at his salamander for a moment before he calmly said, "Do as you wish! This place will eventually close down anyway."

Hearing the approval of his Master, the Salamander perching on the shoulder of his Master, flew above and sucked some air. After which, it breathed out a destructing fire destroying everything it landed on. The Salamander had finally caused destruction in his wake!

"Maybe, I should go home now. I already wasted too much time here." Seeing that his Salamander was having fun destroying things, the young boy could only sigh deeply. He then plucked the golden horn and then turned around to go outside this dungeon as he beckoned, "Hurry up! I'm going out!"

The Salamander heard his Master speaking. So he intended to end the fun there. But before that, the Salamander unleashed his last attack. He flew a little higher as he became much bigger in size. From that, a ball of fire appeared in front of its mouth. The fire's size was double the size of the Salamander itself.

After a few moments, he finally unleashed its move and a pillar of fire came out, destroying everything beneath.

After it was done, Salamander hurriedly followed his Master who was now outside the dungeon.

"Is there even any purpose of doing that?" The moment Salamander caught up to his Master, he heard his Master talking to him so it replied with a satisfied voice, "I love destroying things, and I don't need any reason to destroy the things I love."

Hearing this could only make the mysterious young boy sigh again deeply. He then walked in a certain direction as he said, "You can go back now."

The Salamander was unhappy as it asked, "Can I stay with Master?"

Sigh. Seeing that this summoned Spirit of his was now calling him 'Master' instead of 'Lil Boy', he could only sigh.

"Do whatever you like."

Hearing the approval of his Master, the Salamander became a little smaller and perched on the shoulder of his Master once again.
