X-Rank Hunter

Chapter 53: Demon Heart Explosion

Members of the Santermo Clan usually stay in their Kingdom or traveling across the world for completing quests. If someone were found living or staying in a certain place, it was more likely to say that that group or individuals were exiled from the clan because of whatever reason may it be.

That was why Marco thought that the person they were currently facing was an exiled member of the Santermo Clan since the other party was using the special ability of the clan. And that was turning themselves into a ball of fire to gain greater power and control over fire.

But now, in all of a sudden, he would just learn from his trusted comrade that the enemy they were currently facing was from the Phoenix Tribe! How could he remain calm from that?!

Well, it wasn't that his comrade, Kristina, directly pointed it out since she was just mumbling in fear why did the enemy they were currently facing was using the power of the Phoenix Tribe. But it was also more likely to assume that Kristina was telling that their enemy was a descendant of the Phoenix Tribe.

If it really was the case, then they were surely in big trouble this time!

Though the Phoenix Tribe could only bring life with their fire, that was only limited to themselves and to whoever they wanted to. As for their enemy, well, the Phoenix Tribe could claim their life for as long as they will for it!

No matter what they do against a celestial being, Marco and Kristina would never be able to touch them unless they become a 'Pureblooded Demon'. But both of them were just a Semi-Demon, although it was the Demon Captain rank of which it was the highest rank among the Semi-Demons, it was still far from enough compared to the strength of a real Pureblooded Demons, even if it was just the lowest rank Pureblooded Demons.

It just that, how could someone from a Celestial Realm descend from this place and be with the humans? Both Kristina and Marco really were bewildered regarding this. They were even thinking that their guess was wrong. But how could it be? Kristina was more than sure that the fire coming from the other party really was a fire that was used by the Phoenix Tribe. Doubting it really was impossible for her.

"W-what do we do?" As Marco was deep in thought, he heard Kristina asking him in a frantic voice. He turned his gaze towards their enemy as he as well was thinking what to do.

Running was fine since the enemy they were currently facing was unlikely to be a human. It was just that, would the other party let them escape?

Marco turned his gaze to the ball of fire only to see it unmoving as if waiting for their next move to tickle it once again. Just by seeing this could make Marco more and more frustrated!

With that said, he gathered all his courage as he exclaimed, "We will fight to death!"

They still have a chance to revive once so it was fine even if they both die here. Kristina also knew this fact so she didn't hesitate to agree with the other party as she nodded slowly.

After they both agreed to it, both of them revealed their true form as the black armor they were wearing had slowly turned into some sort of garments and robes accompanied with darkness and evil aura gathering to themselves.

It didn't take long for them to finish transforming. So right now, Kristina was wearing a black-draped skirt paired with a black one-shoulder dress, revealing her gorgeous and attractive right shoulder. Her crimson hair was as if flowing like blood as some kind of staff appeared on her hand. As if it was waiting to be used already for a long time now.

On the other hand, Marco was now clad in a robe that made him more looked like a sword emperor. His long and thin tail swung back and forth readying itself to catch prey.

Both of them took a deep breath as they both simultaneously gazed towards Jino, the ball of fire, as their eyes flashed with a cold glint. But before they could even do a thing, they saw the other party finally making a move!

The ball of fire rotated wildly as a ring of fire was formed around it! But of course, it didn't end in there, as the ball of fire and its ring were rotating wildly, it threw out a swarm of a ball of flame from all around that it looked as if countless meteors descending from heaven.

Some of the fire even tried to touch them but Kristina just raised her staff and the fire had as if been absorbed by the staff. On the other hand, Marco had just swung his sword once and countless slashes could be seen, dissipating the thrown flame right away!

What had just happened repeated in a cycle for about full five minutes until the ball of fire finally calmed down. But what it did was a surrounding engulfed by a sea of fire! Towering waves of fire could be seen from all around as even Kristina and Marco were now together and some sort of invisible barrier was protecting the both of them, keeping the fire and its heat at bay.

"Are you fine? Can you still hold it?" Marco asked. Just by looking to his comrade, Kristina, who was protecting the both of them using her staff, he could immediately tell that the other party had already have used up almost all of her World Energy.

"Don't worry that much... It's still bearable... ...what we should worry about is how to deal with this..." Kristina answered.

"This... This fire really is a high-level one so..." Marco thought for a moment as he was looking around. But seeing that there was also nothing else he could do, he could only suggest, "Should we just self-destruct?"

Hearing the other party made Kristina widened her eyes in shock. But just by looking around could also make her think that they had no other choice as well. It really was laughable to think that they were cornered by their enemy to the point that they were deciding to self-destruct now.

"It seems like we have no other choices..." Kristina responded with a low voice. Self-destructing was much better than dying without retaliation.

So with that in a plan, both of them gathered all the World Energy they could muster as the both of them simultaneously raised their hand and pierced it through their chest right away! After which, they retracted their hands and their hearts revealed themselves! Both of them coughed out a mouthful of blood as their hearts on their palm kept beating.

After which, both of them kneeled on the ground with their upper body remained upwards. Then they both raised their hearts with their two hands just above their head.

"Oh Great Demon Kings, the Rulers of Death, Destruction, Darkness, and Chaos, we offer our hearts to all of you as we humbly ask for power to destruct ourselves enough to bring forth death!" Both Kristina and Marco plead simultaneously as if they had practiced this for a long time.

Kutob!

The hearts on their palm beat wildly as it became darker and darker. It continued to beat more and more wildly as an utterly evil force started to gather on the hearts. Seeing this made Marco and Kristina smile despite the pain as they knew that their pleas were been heard by their Kings.

On the other hand, it was hard to tell whether he was still conscious or not but Jino was just in the midair watching the other party without care. As if he was just watching two little children, playing with a toy.

Both Kristina and Marco didn't like it so with gritted teeth, they put more World Energy towards the heart.

After a few more seconds, the hearts were now both ready to explode and was ready to give birth to horrifying destruction. Excitement loomed upon both Kristina and Marco as they simultaneously said, "Demon Heart Explosion!"

Just after they said those words, the time had as if halted and the surroundings had turned into a somewhat grayish hue. Starting from the two hearts, a shockwave was unleashed going through all directions. After which, a huge explosion had followed turning back the grayish hue of the surroundings to what it was supposed to be.

Kabooooom!

Fire frenziedly gushed forth to all directions as it formed something like a giant mushroom towering high above! The ball of fire was implicated inside the mushroom of fire but it just received it with as if a smile.

Jino was the one who ruled over fire here, how could he run away from this kind of stuff?! He even wondered why did his enemies become so foolish enough to even use fire against him!
