Ch. 24.1 Shock Lotus Break

When she heard Wei Liang’s voice all of a sudden, Lin Jiu shuddered.

Interest? What interest?

Her instincts told her that it wasn’t a good thing at all.

However, she didn’t have the option to refuse at the moment. Suddenly, she felt a huge surge of cold energy flowing into the middle of her forehead. Lin Jiu shivered from head to toe, but also instantly felt refreshed.

She couldn’t help but wonder what happened, as a person’s aura couldn’t be transferred to another in such huge amounts. If that was the case, what did Wei Liang give her?

But this was not a time to look into the details. She followed her instincts and directed the energy right into the red sword.

After a moment of total silence, the red sword started to burn bright red!

The color blazed as if it were physically present, then suddenly swept across all directions.

Lin Jiu stood rooted at the center of the storm, both hands gripping tight at the hilt of the sword, and she couldn’t help but gasp in horror. Waves of terrifying power roared underneath her palm as the hurricane lifted her long hair up and caused her robes to whip wildly behind her.

The giant skeleton was as helpless as a melting frost underneath the blazing sun.

The malice trickled into her mind through the tip of the blade.

10%…20%…30%…50%…80%…90%…

Lin Jiu tried to contain her excitement. She carefully controlled the huge surge of energy and destroyed the giant skeleton’s other leg.

The giant skeleton toppled over to the side. She closed her eyes, controlling the power in the red sword, then slashed down the giant skeleton’s shoulder bone and rib cage bit by bit. The skeleton was collapsing like a skyscraper, but her efforts slowed it down so that it could land in a rather graceful manner.

When Lin Jiu’s feet steadily reached the ground, the giant skeleton had disappeared under the red sword.

Just when she was about to open her eyes, she suddenly felt a soul-stirring killer intent coming from behind her. She barely had the time to shift the red sword towards the back with her backhand, when the next moment—

She heard a loud roar exploding!

She felt a sharp jab on her chest and her throat stiffened.

A blade crashed heavily against her back. Her body felt like a kite that was attached to a broken string and rocketed straight ahead for at least 10 meters!

If it weren’t for the surge of strong energy from Wei Liang that was still holding on to the sword, this impact could have easily torn Lin Jiu into pieces right there and then.

She hit the ground. She rolled to ease the blow, but a severe pain came from her lungs. She used one of her hands to support herself on the ground and looked at the direction where the attack came from.

There stood a woman in red.

Her hair was disheveled, her face pale, her lips as red as blood, her eyes jet black and her nails were slightly greenish. A peach shaped blush framed the sides of her face. It was exactly how the female ghosts in horror movies looked like.

Lin Jiu complained silently and held up the red sword in her hands and pointed the tip of the blade towards the woman.

Weng—

“How dare you….ruin my….great plan……that I……had schemed for….so many years…” the woman gasped. When the woman in red opened her mouth, black-colored blood trickled down from the corner of her lips.

“Eeeeek—” Lin Jiu gasped in horror. “Dear, you frighten people away with your ugly appearance right?”

The woman in red froze for a moment, and hissed at her with her fangs. Her pupils and the whites of her eyes disappeared as her eyes instantly turned to the color of blood. She raised her sharp claws and pounced at Lin Jiu.

Almost…almost…just a bit more…

This time, Lin Jiu did not call for Wei Liang. Her scalp felt numb, like it was buzzing with electricity, and a shiver ran down her spin. Her lips and teeth couldn’t close properly from horror—or maybe it was the other way round, and she was overwhelmed with excitement.

The woman in red dashed towards her in a flash.

Lin Jiu didn’t dare to fight her heads on, and she used her long sword to block the woman’s long green nails before quickly sliding to the other side and fleeing.

“I will not only ruin your mission today, but I’ll also send you straight back from where you came from! You can be rest assured that no matter how you look in your next life, you’ll look much better than now—Anyways, you can’t get any uglier than what you look like now!” Lin Jiu taunted.

The red woman’s eyes bulged, and two tears of black-colored blood trickled down from her red eye. She shot forward, wielding her claws more fiercely than before.

“I…will…rip…you…apart…” she growled.

Lin Jiu’s cultivation skill was only at the middle stage of core foundation. Although she had the help of the red sword, she couldn’t run faster than this.

Within a few breaths, the woman’s long nails were about to touch the back of her heart.

“Kill…you…kill…”

The woman’s voice was hoarse as mouthfuls of black blood slowly gushed out.

Just when the sharp long nails almost hooked themselves onto Lin Jiu’s clothes, Lin Jiu suddenly halted her steps.

She turned back quickly, and a pair of black shiny eyes flashed with an unknown light that confused the woman in red!

The long sword swung to her side and turned into a ray of red beam that went right into Lin Jiu’s body. She spread her arms wide open!

The woman in red couldn’t help but freeze, and she opened her fanged mouth and tried her best to claw at Lin Jiu’s heart.

“Shock—”

Lin Jiu’s beautiful lips curved into a murderous smile.

The eight lotus petals suddenly blossomed. The red lotus gathered itself in an enchanting posture that Lin Jiu had never seen before, then burst into bloom!

The dark golden energy was surging in her, pouring out from her mind and straight into her chest.

Lin Jiu placed her hands together in front of her, turning herself around gently like a lotus, her movements graceful like she was slowly dancing to some light music.
