Diana shook her head. "The creature is doing that willingly. No creature would do that for their 'master' willingly because even at a subconscious level there would be a resistance on the creature's part."

Luther tilted his head mockingly. "Right! Of course! Then please tell me why the Qi Root is protecting that SelaXiu?"

Diana grinned and turned to Yaksha who held a new spark in his eyes. "You get it, don't you, brother?"

Yaksha nodded and raised his hand in the air. A blue intrinsic design appeared in front of him.

Luther grabbed his wrist as wind picked up speed around them.

Yaksha glared at Luther.

Luther forced himself not to cower in fear. "Young Master, what are you doing? The AI System would see us as breaking the rules and punish us if we tried to help that girl!"

Yaksha looked at him with a cold gaze. "I am the Yaksha Lord. I am allowed to protect the creatures of the Other World, especially those of the Spirit Realm."

Luther shivered in fright. "But…but what about the girl's dignity?"

Yaksha's brow crinkled.

"If that SelaXiu girl knows that you helped her, would she approve?" Luther asked. Though he wasn't sure if the girl had that kind of a personality in reality, she would have had to at least pretend to be a decent for his young master to have cared about her, and Luther hoped it was enough to deter the young master from doing something that would put their mission in jeaopardy.

"The actions are simple," Diana said with a scoff. "Brother Yaksha helps the Qi Root, she wins, and she is greatful to brother. Or, if brother does not want her to know, she never will. Why are you so concerned about this?"

Luther shook his head. "Silly girl, your thinking is too straight forward! The Grandmaster Matches are an honour! And that SelaXiu won four of them on her own! You tell me! Will that girl actually want Master's help if she finds out that master can help?"

Diana frowned. "If it is a matter of my pride and my Spirit Pet, I would choose my spirit pet! I would hope that the girl that brother is interested in would have a bit of courtesy as to care about the creature that accepted her! If that Frost is able to kill off the Qi Root, where would SelaXiu's pride be?"

Luther shook his head in disappointment. "You forgot that she is part of the Potential Immortals. They see creatures as nothing more than a means to an end."

Diana pursed her lips in disapproval.

Yaksha considered the words of his companions and understood the path he should take.

The blue intrinsic circle around his hand turned deep purple, and glowed.

Luther sighed in disappointment as he backed away. He was not sure what he should feel at the moment that an NPC had more say in the young master's actions than he did.

The Blue circle grew in area more and more, so much so that the water in the lake started to reflect its deep blue light.

In the Viridian forest edge, more and more ice blades cut into the body of the Qi Root.

New and new vines came out of the ground to replace the once that were cut off.

Frost frowned in irritation. She raised her hand that was finally free of the vice-like hold, and created sickle blades out of ice. She sent it hailing towards the Spirit pet.

Frost hated the Qi Root for its persistence as it was wearing down her Qi Capacity more than she liked to. With the Illusion still in place on SelaXiu, it was unwise for her to be using her Qi to such a level. But it could not be helped. She needed to get rid of the threat of the Qi Root as soon as she could.

The sickle ice blades tore through the roots faster, far faster than what the creature could regenerate and it slowly started to lose its momentum. No matter how strong it was, the Qi Root in the end was only a day old at most and so it could not hold on for much longer and started to become weaker.

Those watching felt their heart twinge in pain as they realised tha the creature was reaching its end.

In the illusion of memories that Frost created, Cheng Xiu felt her heart thud making her pause in her third attempt at making the cake with her mother.

She looked up at the sky, a far off look entering her eyes.

In her heart, she felt like a part of her that she did not even know existed was about to die out, and she would regret letting that happen.

Almost like someone had read her mind, a glowing blue light appeared in front of her and she felt a warm safe feeling settle in her consciousness.

'SelaXiu,' A deep alluring voice that had her want to just hear again and again echoed in her mind.

Cheng Xiu froze for a moment, unsure about the fact that she was hearing sexy voices in her head. It could be a good thing or a bad thing. For her own sanity, she would go for it being a good thing.

'Your Qi Root is about to die at the hands of Frost.'

Cheng Xiu felt her heart tremble in shock, and her eyes widened in horror.

'You better get out of this illusion if you want to save your pet.'

Cheng Xiu felt the warm presence leave her mind.

"What is it, A'Xiu?" the silver-haired woman asked, as she put down the baking tray in front of her.

Dark phoenix eyes looked at the silver-haired woman with an unreadable expression. "Mom…I feel like I am losing something by staying here with you."

The silver-haired woman frowned. "A'Xiu…do you not want to stay with mom?"

Cheng Xiu blinked and looked at her in the eyes. "I do. I did. But there are somethings that are far more important than the illusions of happier times. Do you know what that is mom?"

The silver-haired woman's lips curled into a smile. "To stay with those that you care about. To stay with those that need you more."

Cheng Xiu nodded. "And I feel like something needs me more right now."

The silver-haired woman nodded. "Be careful, and take care of your silly father."

Cheng Xiu shook her head with a smile.. "This really is an illusion, isn't it."
