Chapter 35 - Bullets Dance

Long Hei smiled at her nervously. "Sister Lotus! Your fight against the girl was just a fluke! You didn't realise that the girl would be so cunnining! That's all!"

"Who will believe your words?"

"Um...everyone!"

"Oh? So people will forget the World Broadcast of the Grandmaster's Arena?"

Long Hei backed away. "That...that...oh look! Little Sela nearly cut brother WenXian!"

Everyone turned to the fight at his words.

Cheng Xiu had almost cut WenXian's head off had he not backflipped away from her.

"How the hell did she do that!" WuQi asked San Zhe in anger.

San Zhe backed away. "Um...I don't know."

In the middle of the arena the two cultivators became faster in their movements.

"Well," WenXian said, panting. "You are a really persistent opponent!"

He stood straight and sheathed his sword.

Cheng Xiu understood his intentions immediately.

He was going to use Wind spells.

She felt a bit annoyed at the fact that he sheathed his sword to use his wind powers instead of using the wind to enhance his sword strikes. But she shouldn't be looking at a gifted horse in the mouth.

Let him underestimate her. That was the most advantageous thinking process she could hope for.

He raised his hands in front of him. "Wind Bullets!"

a ball of tornado formed in the palms of his hands. it warpped around his entire arm, making his red sleaves flutter.

The wind became visible to the eyes as it absorbed the dust in the air to gain momentum and greyish bullets flew towards her.

Cheng Xiu dodged those that she could but because there were so many of them, some nicked her arms and face.

Cheng Xiu raised her sword to block the rain of wind bullets.

She swung it left and right, using her greatest effort to block all of them.

"Wind Blades!"

Cheng Xiu leapt to the side to avoid it.

The blade graced near her sleave, cutting the fluttering part of it off.

Lu WenXian whistled. "I'm impressed, Rookie! Let's see how long you can actually hold on for though! Wind Bullet! Wind Blade!"

Cheng Xiu fell to the ground and rolled away.

"Wind Bullet! Wind Blade!"

The attacks rushed towards her even more.

Cheng Xiu backed away, using her Sword as her shield.

"Wind Bullet! Wind Blade!"

Cheng Xiu rolled away from the attack range again.

"Wind Blades! Wind Blades!"

Cheng Xiu smirked, jumped to her feet and raised her sword. "Sword Dance!"

The red sword in her hand flashed and two copies of the sword floated in front of her. The swords met the two wind blades in the air. There was a flash of red light.

When they could see things again, the blades were no more.

The swords floated back and stayed above her head.

The Red Carp Sword had two inbuilt special moves it allowed its wielder to use. And Sword Dance was the first one.

It allowed the user to create copies of it and use it to attack the enemy. It was a ranged skill that used Qi to work.

The number of copies was up to the wielder. If you had the confidence to do so, then you could even make hundreds and thousands of copies to attack the enemy from afar. All you needed was sufficient Qi and concentration.

Cheng Xiu was not really sure about her capability to control more than two copies and she wasn't aware of how much Qi she actually had. It took a lot of Qi to manipulate the swords to float the way she wanted it to.

She had the advantage of having a powerful mind though and it made maneuvering the swords easier.

Lu WenXian frowned. "Wind Bullet! Wind Bullet! Wind Bullet!"

Cheng Xiu crouched low and rolled away once again.

Lu WenXian expected it. He sent a Wind Blade towards her.

Cheng Xiu used the swords around her to block it and destroyed it in a flash of red.

She had learned something about WenXian's attacks. Wind Bullet was an Area skill that targeted everything in its path. It was not as flexible as the blades.

Even the Wind Blades had the same weakness to a degree. It would move in the way that he attacked it with.

And Sword Dance could cut down their momentum because the Wind was largely made of his Qi.

When the Qi in the flying swords encountered them the swords would win because their Qi was constantly replenished by the user unlike the Wind Skills.

Lu WenXian raised his hands again. "Ice Bullet!"

Cheng Xiu frowned. She used the floating swords to stop the bullets. They weren't as fast as the Wind Bullets before them but they made up for it by being unstoppable. The sword just cut through the bullets, splitting them and increasing their numbers.

Cheng Xiu raised her sword again. "Sword Shield!"

Cheng Xiu felt her Qi drain into half.

Sword Shield was the second skill attached to the Carp Sword. It was similar to Qi Burst in that it would take an insane amount of Qi from the user to create a Qi Barrier around her.

But this skill used three times the amount of Qi that Qi Burst used.

A thin blue Qi Barrier appeared around her, protecting her from the incoming Ice bullets.

The bullets hit the barrier and shattered into pieces.

"Hey, Senior! Using elements other than Wind is a bit underhanded!" Cheng Xiu said to him with a grin.

Lu WenXian frowned. "You shouldn't expect all your enemies to be one-element ponies like Lotus, in fact she is a wierd in that-"

"Lu WenXian!" Lotus screamed. "Just you wait you bastard! I'm going to electrocute you into smithereens! Who is weird! You are weird! Your whole family is weird!"

"See what I mean?"

"I was just joking though," Cheng Xiu tilted her head in confusion. "Are you not going to apologize to her? She seems genuinely upset with you. "

"Why should I? I was only telling the truth!"

"Lu idiot!"

Cheng Xiu sweat dropped. "She is really ang-"

The barrier around her disappeared.

"Wind Waves!"

"Sword Dance."

Two more swords appeared before her.. She used the four swords to cut through the sharp waves that came her way.
