Twin Soul

Book 3: Chapter 3 (37)

Two weeks later. Inside the Meeting Hall of Kain’s Palace.

Prime Minister Ordia reported, “Supreme Leader, most of the messengers we sent out to other nations have officially declared as dead. Some of our messengers have made it back to the Empire carrying heavy injuries and they said the nations we sent them to refused to surrender to us because they still believe that the Mages Council can help them fight back our invasions.”

“Not only they refused to surrender, but they dared to kill most of our messengers huh.” Kain angrily gritted his teeth as he said that.

“We have gathered enough soldiers for the next invasion. In the West, we can invade the Republic of Yfari. To the South, we can invade the Kingdom of Ronia and Kingdom of Winhardia at the same time.”

“Besides our soldiers, how many warriors can the Kings and Queens send for our war campaign?”

“We have six hundred million soldiers. But if including the armies of our Kings and Queens, we should have more than two billion ready to attack and still have four billion to stay and defend.”

“Nah, use them all. Just leave one billion warriors for defense.”

“But Supreme Leader, that will leave our Empire vulnerable if the Cloudia Empire decides to attack our nation using the seaway while our armies are away.”

"What about our navy?"

"During the constant war with the Commonwealth of Krog, Grand Duchy of Macmalian, Sungaria Kingdom, Commonwealth of Mapmawia, and Shota Empire, most of our navy sailors were killed defending our Empire from the Cloudia Empire's invasion. Right now, we only have roughly a hundred million navy sailors left."

“I see. You don’t have to worry much about that. Emperor Volsky and his Rogue Mages will sink any warships approaching within our seaway territory.”

“What about the Bifjorkian Theocracy? Their military and navy are extremely powerful now after successfully united with the Tarlakalian Theocracy. If they team up with the Cloudia Empire to attack us using the seaway, then Emperor Volsky and his Rogue Mages won’t be able to fight them back. And the Mages Council, what if they started to send powerful Executioners to join the Cloudia Empire and Bifjorkian Theocracy?”

“You don’t have to worry about that either. I will personally make sure no Executioners can get to our land alive.”

“Assumed-"

"Enough. Do as I say, or else."

"Supreme Leader, please calm down. I will organize the invasions and launch the war campaign a month from now.”

Meanwhile, in Flumen city of the Bifjorkian Theocracy. Inside the temple of the Mages Council. Holy Mage Gwenn Bigham and all Lords of the Colors were present at the Meeting Hall.

Gwenn asked, “Lords, what do you think about this Kain Bersk character? He had taken over the Dryardian Empire from the Demi-Humans within a day after massacre the entire Demi-Humans population of Benil city.”

Lord Wrenn Fasketel of the Red said, “From what we have known so far, he is a Blood Mage.”

Lord Oleos Fosnes of the Purple said, “We all know that. Is there any information about this Kain Bersk guy that we haven’t known about yet?”

Lord Gerda Mork of the Blue said, “He has been absent from the Blood Mages Guild for over three hundred years and just recently came back. Less than a day of his return, he took over the Dryarian Empire and created a name for himself.”

Lord Dasha Vaelbe of the White said, “He sent messengers to other nations and requested them to submit to his rules by destroying all of the Watcher Zorim statues in their countries. So far, no nation submit to his edicts yet.”

Lord Larissa Krasnaia of the Black said, “In another way to say it, he is about to launch war campaigns on the nations that are opposed to submitting to his dictates.”

Lord Bohdan Brish of the Brown said, “If that is the case, we should send more powerful Executioners and elder members of our Colors to help other nations fight back the Dryardian Empire’s invasions.”

Gwenn turned toward Kath and Noe, then asked them, “Lord Donoghan and Lord Clerico, what about you? Do you have any outlook on this Kain Bersk guy?”

Lord Kath Donoghan of the Brown had no idea who this Kain Bersk guy was because Adrik had never mentioned his name to her. She shook her head and said, “If Kain Bersk is as powerful as we have learned about him, then we may have to contact the Champions.”

Lord Noe Clerico laughed and said, “Those useless Champions only care about advancing into God-tiers and meditate every day to create new useless magic spells. They will not take action unless humanity reaches the brink of extinction. I will go to the Dryarian Empire to check out his Kain Bersk guy by myself and see how powerful he truly is.”

Gwenn said, “I agreed about that. Lord Clerco, I will be waiting for your return.”

Not just Noe, but other Lords were surprised to see Gwenn allowed him to leave Flumen city this time instead of trying to make him stay as usual. The reason Gwenn was confident in herself now was that she recently created a powerful Saint Light Magic spell that could change the tide of any battle. Therefore, Gwenn was no longer afraid of Adrik Volsky anymore.

Champions. They are the best of the best that have reached the peak of maximum in training both magic and warrior arts. For a magic caster to reach the rank of Champion, he/she must defeat three magic casters that reached level 100 and three Eleventh Stage Saint Warriors at the same time. Once became a Champion, that magic caster will gain access to all resources the Mages Council has including the opportunity to travel to other planets in the lower realms for new adventures. Despite being able not to worry about the mages Council's daily activities and functions. Nonetheless, the Champions have the duty to protect the Mages Council from powerful enemies including Archangels and Devils if necessitated.

In Noe Clerico's eyes, the Champions are just a bunch of useless dogs that use the privilege of the Mages Council without doing anything particular in return. In the case of Vierna Pharm, the Champions weren't doing anything even when over eighty percent of the human population was massacred. That was why he looked down on them and never wanted to become one of them.

Noe stood up, laughed, and said, “Very well. I will go check out this Kain Bersk guy and see what he made out of.”

Noe casted [Summon Wind Walker] and commanded it to cast [Wind Walk] spell on him and itself. Together with his Wind Walker, Noe flew from Flumen city of Bifjorkian Theocracy toward Benil city of the Dryardian Empire using the seaway without the intention of taking any break.

Compared to Kain’s flying speed, Noe’s flying speed was much slower. But because of his vast mana pool, Noe had no problem conjured new Wind Walker whenever the old Winder Walker’s mana pool reach depletion. Twelve days later, Noe got into the seaway territory of the Dryarian Empire. Despite being spotted by the Demi-Humans, Noe calmly flew past them without stopping. Six days after that, Noe arrived in Benil city. He flew through the high wall just like Kain had done before and continued flying directly toward Kain’s Palace.
