Twin Soul

Book 4: Chapter 13

Noe couldn’t let pride stay in the way of his revenge, he turned toward Vampire-Kain and asked, “Kain Bersk, this is the last chance I will give you. Will you, or will you not swear your loyalty to me?”

Kain heard Saint Michael tell Noe that he was sent to Toria Continents by Watcher Zorim to stop Kain from destroying the Mages Council. Kain could feel Saint Michael alone was too arduous to defeat compared to Anwyn Richir because of the way Michael has been fighting with Anwyn. Anwyn was putting all effort into casting every Fire Magic spell toward Michael but the best it could have done to him was create some scratches, not any actual injury. Now that Noe Clerico already had a full mana pool again, Kain didn’t even know if he could defeat Noe and Arthur even with the help of his father.

Kain didn’t know why Noe Clerico hated Saint Michael that much, he started thinking when Noe asked again if Kain was willing to swear loyalty to him, "The enemy of my enemy can be my friend. Saint Michael didn't seem hostile toward me but he was sent here by Watcher Zorim. That bitch Zorim must have hated me very much because I rejected her offer in the Timeless Dungeon. There is no way I can ally with Saint Michael to defeat Noe Clerico. Now that Noe Clerico is offering me a chance of teaming up with him, should I...?"

Kain started to compare the massive army of Angel Warriors and Angel Battlemages that kept flying through the massive colossus portal to the demon armies of the Thirteen Demon Lords. By the time Kain was about to answer Noe, Jaane whispered into his ears, “Kain, I have a technique to help you become more powerful. But…”

Kain shook his head and quietly said, “There is no need for that, Jaane. I can guess that technique must have a fault that could be endangering you or to myself.”

“Yes...” Jaane softly answered.

“I have decided whether or not to serve Noe Clerico. I have always thought having the Devil Overlord by my side would assure my victory against him today but Noe keeps surprising me with new power. Noe Clerico is a great man. I remembered Adrik once said it was an honor for him to serve me because I was so much powerful than him. I recognized Noe Clericoto to be stronger than I am and it is an honor to serve such a powerful man. However...”

Closed both of his eyes for two seconds and then sharply opened them again, Kain continued, “I serve no one.”

Kain turned his gaze toward Noe and said, “I, Kain Bersk, will never serve anyone. That would include you, Noe Clerico. But since we are having the same enemy, I proposed a temporary mutual alliance between us.”

Noe grinned his teeth in anger and said, “So be it. An alliance between us. We will continue our match after we finish dealing with those angels.”

“I agreed.”

After Noe and Kain agreed to a mutual alliance, Noe turned his head toward the Mages Council, commanded his Wind Walkers to transmit his messages using [Whispering Wind] spells, and said, “Kain Bersk and I have agreed to a mutual agreement. Lords of Colors, Solo-Executioners, Members, and Executioners of the Colors. Our realm is being invaded by the Heaven Realm. We needed to work with the Blood Mages and the Rogue Mages to kill all angels that dared to invade our realm. World leaders, you needed to hurry back to your countries and gather your armies, navies, warriors, archers, Mage Guilds, and Warrior Guilds to fight against the angels. The same goes for you all, Lords of the Colors. Head back to Flumen city to gather all of your Members and Executioners. Arthur Castillon, Kain Bersk, and I will stay here to make sure no angel could get out of Linkeep Island for a while to ensure your safety.”

Saint Michael laughed out loud after hearing what Noe had said, he activated [Vocal Blaze] ability and said, “Humans and Demi-Humans of Toria Continents, Watcher Zorim loved all of you. That's why Watcher Zorim sent me here to assist the Mages Council and all countries of Toria Continents to help you get rid of all Rogue Mages and Blood Mages. Noe Clerico had some personal issues with me and he now wanted to work with the enemies to challenge me despite putting you all at risk. Watcher Zorim had authorized me to go all out so I would not hold back my power. Either you stand aside or become my enemy. I will respect your decision.”

Everything Saint Michael said immediately transmitted into giant fire words that appeared in the sky allowing everyone on Linkeep Island to see. Pope Alain Hayward quickly said, “Saint Archangel Michael is right. He is here to save us, not to fight against us. Lord Clerico had failed to protect this planet and now he is trying to fight against our savior out of arrogance. I propose we all stand back and do nothing.”

Great General Brandis Hayward immediately agreed, “My father is right. We have no reason to fight against Saint Archangel Michael.”

Executioner Enye Selmer nodded his head and said, “I completely agreed. Lord Clerico isn't the Holy Mage, he had no right to propose an alliance with the Blood Mages.”

Brandis said, "He couldn't even protect the Holy Mage. Protector of Toria Continents? What a joke."

Pope Hayward slapped Brandis on the face as he yelled, "Shut up. Son, better watch your mouth."

Brandis lowered his head and apologized, "I'm sorry, father."

"Call me by my title."

"Yes, Pope Hayward."

Pope Alain Hayward witnessed the true power of Noe Clerico today. He knew deep down in his heart that no one in the lower realms can be comparable to Noe. Disagree is one thing, disrespect is on a whole different level. Great General Brandis Hayward publicly disrespected Noe Clerico wouldn't bring any benefits for the Hayward family. Even if Saint Michael can overpower Noe Clerico, can Michael really kill Noe? Arthur Castillon made it very clear that he remained loyal to Noe Clerico. All eight Archangels of the Heaven Realm may not be powerful enough to stand against Noe Clerico with Arthur Castilon standing by his side. With the help of Kain Bersk, Saint Michael may not be powerful enough to win this battle.

Lord Wrenn Fasketel, Lord Oleos Fosnes, Lord Gerda Mork, Lord Dasha Vaelbe, Lord Larissa Krasnaia, and Lord Bohdan Brish showed no objection to Pope Hayward but didn’t say anything about agreeing to it either. The world leaders including Emperor Lucius Flavonius Acilianus and Prime Minister Ateia Ordia of the Dryardian Empire looked at each other then turned to look at the massive angel army that kept increasing because more angels were still flying through the massive colossus portal opened in the sky.

Lucius was the first to speak among the world leaders, “I agreed with Pope Hayward. The Dryardian Empire had never wanted to work with the nasty magic casters outcasted by the Mages Council in the first place. If it wasn't because of Kain Bersk, I wouldn't become an enemy of the Mages Council. I propose we leave this land to avoid getting unnecessary injuries and don’t interfere with their battle.”

Ateia said, “My Emperor won’t send any of his armies to fight back the angels. That is our promise.”

Other leaders started to agree with Lucius as well. From the way they see things, Noe Clerico and Kain Bersk were very strong, but they were just two human Conjurer Mages. Saint Archangel Michael is the perfect creation of The Creator. He holds the power to command all angels including all eight Archangels of the Heaven Realm. Noe Clerico said the angels were invading Toria Continents but everyone knows this was just a load of horse shit. The angels have their own realm, there was no need for any invasion. Not to mention Heaven Realm and Toria Continents are both governed by Watcher Zorim.

Noe’s Wind Walkers transmitted back to him all the messages that the world leaders were talking to each other about not joining forces to fight against the angels. Noe shook his head and thought to himself, “Simple mind idiots…”
