Twin Soul

Book 3: Chapter 1 (47)

Holding the Soul Advancement Stone in his hands, Finwe asked, “How do I use it?”

“I think the same way as to how I used the Tykan Eye. Place it on your forehead, between the eyes. Then close your eyes after that.”

Finwe followed Kain’s instructions. Ten seconds later, he opened his eyes and asked, “This is amazing! How long have I been standing here?”

“Ten seconds.”

“I felt like I had been witnessing that battle for hours.”

Kain remembered how he witnessed the battle between a Devil and a Necromancer when using the second Tykan Eye to upgrade his Demon Soul into Devil Soul. Kain asked, “So what happened with the battle you have witnessed?"

“I saw a battle between a magic caster who was using Delusion Magic and an Archangel.”

“Archangel? Who won that fight?”

“The Archangel won of course but depending on how you look at it. Despite the Archangel summoned a hundred Sixteen Wings Angel Warriors, the Delusion Mage successfully escaped from the Archangel and her Angel Warriors after fighting with them for hours.”

“What Elemental Soul do you have now? Is it a Delusion Soul?”

“It’s called Delusionist Soul. My Thunder Soul had upgraded to Delusionist Soul. This Delusionist Soul also increased my health, mana, and stamina pools. Not just that, my speed had tremendously increased as well. If I face a much stronger opponent such as Archangel, I'm confident that I can escape without losing my life.”

“Hmm… I wonder how your Delusion Magic works. Finwe, test it on me.”

“Very well, let's do it.” Finwe was so excited to test out his new magic spells.

Ten seconds later. Kain asked, “Nothing happened yet. Have you used it yet?”

“I have. Try to attack me.”

“Alright.”

Kain flew toward Finwe and threw a powerful right-leg kick at him. Kain thought Finwe would be dodging his kick but he was just standing there taking Kain’s attack head-on resulting in his body being heavily injured.

Kain worriedly asked, “Are you okay? Why didn’t you dodge my kick?”

Finwe’s heavily wounded body immediately became perfectly normal again. Finwe said, “You can transform into a Devil to fight me.”

“Haha… You are so confident huh? I guess you can instantly heal yourself now just like Flint Duril the God Warrior I have fought in the Fifteenth-tier of Timeless Dungeon. Very well, I won’t hold back anymore.”

Kain activated the [Devil Anatomy] spell to transform into a Devil and created a giant fiery battle-ax as his weapon. Kain grabbed the battle-ax, swung it at Finwe at full force. Like Kain had expected, there was no way Finwe could survive his powerful attack.

Finwe’s body was cut in half as Kain said, “Seem like I’m still stronger than you, Finwe.”

Finwe’s body instantly recovered then he casted [Thunder Strike] spell on Kain. Kain laughed, shook his head, and said, “Really? How can that level 1 Thunder Magic spell can cause damage on my Devil’s body?”

Kain was wrong. Just one [Thunder Strike] spell and Kain’s body was slightly injured. Kain opened his eyes widely and asked in disbelief, “How can this be?”

“Kain! Wake up!”

“What’s going on? I hear your voice behind me. But you are in front of me?” Kain confusedly asked Finwe.

“Wake up!”

"That wasn't Finwe's voice. Something weird is happening." Kain asked himself after hearing that voice again.

Kain opened his eyes and saw he was just standing still while Finwe’s long sword pointed at his throat. Kain asked, “What happened? Why am I not in my Devil form?”

“You were trapped inside my [Delusion World] spell. Whatever you have witnessed for the past one second was all part of my trick.”

“One second? We were fighting for at least a minute.”

“One minute in my [Delusion World] is equal to one second in real life. Unless you can figure out that you were trapped in the [Delusion World] to dispel its effect, or you won’t be able to know even if I kill you in real life.”

“Amazing! You could have killed me just now and I wouldn't even know about it."

"I doubt it. Because your Magical Resistance rate is too high, the moment my sword touches your throat, you will fall back into reality. Even if I cause you some injuries, you can still heal yourself using Blood Magic. One bad thing about this [Delusion World] spell is it can only be cast on one target. I have to either dispel it or wait for its effect to end before casting it on another target."

"How long was the duration for that spell last?"

"It depends on how much mana I'm willing to drop into maintaining it."

"Still, that was great. If we were in a real fight, you could have activated [Thunder Step] and escaped before I could wake up from that [Delusion World] spell."

"Of course. This magic spell will be great for me to either kill weaker enemies easier or escape from the stronger enemy without spending too much mana."

"Is that the only new magic spell you can cast?”

“There are more, but I need time to study and practice them.”

“Great! Good for you, Finwe. I'm glad you have obtained some new great magic spells after using that Soul Advancement Stone.”

After happily congratulating Finwe, Kain sighed and said, “Finwe, what are you planning to do now? Not only you are a level 100 Thunder Mage, but you can use Delusion Magic as well. Are you going to head back to the realm of Thunder Eagles to take the throne from your brother as you have said? Or would you like to stay with me here in Toria Continents to assist me in avenging for my parents?”

Finwe thought for several seconds and said, “You have given me such precious gifts, I can’t leave just like that. How about this? I will let you defeat me so you can create [Conjure Finwe] spell. By that way, you can always conjure me whenever needed.”

Kain shook his head and said, “I won’t do that. Like I have said earlier. I wanted you to have your own destiny. I don’t want you to be able to become someone’s else conjured creature. If you can find a suitable Conjurer Mage that you want to bound your Soul to, I won’t stop you from doing so.”

“Kain, I… I won’t allow any Conjurer Mage to bound me or defeat me. I will have my own destiny as you have said.”

“Good. The portal is still open. You can return to the realm of Thunder Eagles now. Take the throne from your brother and become the next King of all Evolved Thunder Eagles.”

“When will you be able to open the portal again?”

“I can only open the portal once every a hundred years. But I can’t come to your realm for a hundred thousand years. That is the punishment Watcher Sivna gave me. Worry not, my friend. We will have a chance to see each other again.”

“Do you need me to help you in Toria Continents first? I know you want to destroy the Mages Council. With my newly obtained Delusionist Soul, I can help you out a lot.”

“I have the Blood Mages Guild to help me do that. You don’t have to worry about anything here buddy. I will see you a hundred years from now, my friend.”

“Farewell. Next time we meet, I will be the King of all Evolved Thunder Eagles.”

“Good. And when that happens, I can be the first male Holy Mage of the new Mages Council. Haha…”

“Goodbye, Kain.”

“Goodbye, Finwe.”
